- This video is to help you understand the meaning behind the song Charm by @heisrema . Afrobeats and West African music may be easier for some to understand when translated and explained. I hope you enjoy!
At the time of posting this, there is no official music video for this song. Please check out Rema's CZcams channel for his latest uploads. - Hudba
I really love some of the Nigerian songs, I was really into this song, and just vibing without understanding the meaning of the song, the song is truly amazing, now that I understand the meaning of the song that makes this song even more beautiful, I love how you explained it too, you are a graceful, sweet, smart and beautiful young lady, your man must be a lucky guy, you are a keeper. Stay blessed.
You are so sweet and kind and I appreciate these lovely words. Amen and I’m Glad I can bring a deeper meaning of the song for you. You being able to enjoy it without fully understanding the words shows how beautiful music is 🙂
I love Nigerian songs and they have produced some amazing music! Rema is incredible.
Thank you SO MUCH for the translation.
My daughter sings and she wanted to write a chorus to sing with “Charm”
kind of like Selena did with “Calm Down.” She thought it would be fun to come up with a girl part/response to the song.
So you have made it so much easier with your translation because we ALLL know how a woman would respond to some of the smack talking guys do 😂😘
Awww that’s so sweet. Please come back and share if she ends up recording the response. Thats real cool
Been playing this song on repeat
Right! The melody in this song is so satisfying
Af. Am. woman here and I love afrobeats and often find myself understanding without help which is lovely
Thank you for the breakdown on this one
The line "drop your body armor" made me think of "let your guard down"
The breakdown of the song is really poetic and I can appreciate that for sure
"Let your guard down" was a perfect way to describe it 👏🏾👏🏾 thank you!!
You have helped the Ugandan and for real I love the song lord!!!😊
Lol I am happy to help !!
I don't actually need the translations cause I'm Nigerian but I love your videos 🤗😍
Thank you so much and nice to have you. Appreciate it 🙂
You a Bad Boy , you a very bad boy :)
Well she does this for those who don't understand the language
@@Idance2fit 👀 I'm not a guy 😂
@@Idance2fit so I can't watch them?
Its "suffree with dis body" meaning softly or gently with your body. "Make we run am on a lowkey" meaning "lets do this gently, under the radar, no noise, smooth, slow romance ❤❤
Thanks for this!
Thank you for this. I figured out parts being that I'm Jamaican and our patois is similar, but I achieved clarity. Love this song!
Glad it was helpful 🙂
you're a queen, you did a wonderful job and thank you for translating this beautiful song!
I am so in love with these afro beats and pop ❤. Thanks for explaining girl 😊
My Goddess of breakdown never disappoints, u re amazing ❤❤
Lol thank you!!!
I love this song❤. To me it’s a ballad to an immensely powerful queen from a young suitor. In it, Rema mentions Oya - who is a strong force of nature associated with wind, lightning, and tornadoes - following his command almost in an attempt to sway or ‘Charm” her into doing so seductively because there’s no other way he can have her.
Oya here is not the Orisha. It's "come on". The tonal marks are different.
This is the second video I've watched and after watching and understanding those two songs: charm and mogbe by Asake, I've realised that Nigerian singers are really always romantic in their music but their language to a foreigner doesn't feel romantic at all. 😂😂 There's always a wonderful idea behind their songs. It's just wow!
Lolll! Yes they can be real lover boys
The best content ideas are always so simple and obvious! Great job! Keep it up!!
Lol very true thank youuu🙂🙂

You are doing a great job. Also, you are super gorgeous. Your forehead and general facial structure perfectly fit the modeling world.
Looool the forehead comment genuinely made me laugh 🤣😂. Thank you soooo much I appreciate it
I think in the part where he said 'e get as you dey move wey i no go gree' , my interpretation is: Baby you're moving in certain way I cant stand it(because Im loving it so badly)- I wont take no for a answer. You must be mine.
Ooh I like this! That definitely makes sense
yo yo thank you that really helped I appreciate you
You’re welcome 🙂 glad to help!

Thank you 🙂🙂 and lol okay let me listen to the song haven’t heard it yet
Thank you!
You’re welcome!!
Yasssss Simbihawt I was just listening to this song lol. This is my jam. He definitely was using his Charm in this song and he got me ! Not too much on my papa tho Rema , even tho you are richer than him lol. 😂 also I wanted to ask you how did you get the confidence to post videos on here ?! I wanna start even tho I don’t have many subscribers coz they’ll come later. I do makeup but like I feel like I need to talk to people and I’m scared 😂 would appreciate your advice!
Lol right 😂...I was so nervous about starting CZcams as well. But the best advice I heard a while ago was someone saying something along the lines that you should start it scared, start it nervous, start it imperfect, etc. I was unsure still because what people would think, my Yoruba isnt that great etc. but I just did it. There was no harm in deciding to do it. I told myself I would give it 18 months to determine whether I enjoyed CZcams (regardless of views, subscribers etc),but no matter what I will stick with it it for the entire 18 months and then stop if and whenever I want to...hope this helped and let me know what you decide 🙂
Thank you 😊 😊
You’re welcome ☺️☺️
Hello!❤ One question (by the way, my language is not English, so I'm using Google translate, I hope you understand), what does "soco" mean? Thanks for your videos, I'm new to your channel and I'm already amazed💟
Usually, it means "throw down". In this context, it's meant sexually.
Thanks, Rakhi! Yes Sofia in this song he is saying she should dance 🙂 thank you!!!
@simbihawt
Amazing content.
I was jst wondering how you managed to understand the slangs and language even though you dont live in Nigeria.
Thank you 🙂. I lived in Nigeria for a bit when I was younger so there is some familiarity there, I stay in tune/touch with slangs and sayings and I get help and research!
for a non Nigerian you did extremely well.
bololo means skin head with out any interference.
English: busting my head without interference
Ohh okay thank you for sharing. I’m Nigerian too oo
Thanks🙏 🙏 🙏
You’re welcome 🙂🙂
Many thanks ❤
You’re welcome 🙂

@@LeylaRengifo yes it is 😂
Thank for the translation l like Rema music but for me is a little hard to understand every word. Thanks 👍
You’re welcome and I completely understand. What’s your favorite Rema song?
Wowwwwwww🎉
☺️☺️
Good job 👍
Thanks!!
Not to be disagreeable, but I take exception to the mention of “broken English”. It’s Pidgin English, a creole language with a standard grammatical structure and lexis.
❤ 🇳🇬.
Editing to add: NEW SUBBIE, because you’re awesome!
You are 100% correct. I caught on to this and in my more recent videos I say Pidgin English. Thanks for correcting me with love and nice having you 🙂🤎🤎
Love yr translation channel Simbiwhat... can you translate Shungusha?
Thank you ☺️ I looked up the song and it is by a Kenyan artist named Jabidii. I do not understand the languages that they speak in Kenya so I will not be able to assist you with the breakdown. I mainly help with the Yoruba language which is home to Nigeria and also some of the Igbo Language and Nigerian pidgin english which is home to Nigeria as well. Hopefully you can find the meaning soon sorry
@@SimbihawtThank you!
The African aunty face is so relatable
Lol!
Thank for explain the meaning of the lyrics in Remas Charm😊
You’re welcome 🙂
This is really cool! 😎 I for “tip you off withi allowee” 🎶
Nice thanks!! Lol right so many catchy phrases in this song.
The old car bit got me giggling 😂
Right! 😂 He’s trying to be funny!
Can pls you breakdown 'Reason You' ?
Hi I believe this song is on my request list! Please give me time as the list is long and I also try and keep up with new songs
You got something here doing this transaction thing you better own it before a CZcams content creator steals it and make money off it 💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥👍👍👍👍👍
Thank youuuu 🤎
Lol I definitely get you. I try to do my best with the time that I have but I won’t be surprised. People have been doing it before me too. My prayer is that I’m favored 🙂
@@Simbihawt yeah but they don't do it like you with you you get it straight away I am white guy who loves black people music Tyler ICU tumelo mnike and libianca Ayra starr rush people culture and Afro beats music and dances and I don't understand the lyrics to the song that's why this is needed for people like me and my friends ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Thanks 🙂
Wow make for me goodsin❤❤
☺️
Thank you, this song is like crack to me right about now. I need it injected 😂
Lol! Some songs will do that to you 😂
Nice trans... It'd be cool if you always mention and reference Nigeria while you're speaking to the pidgin so to help your viewers visualize what and where the music is coming from.
Hi thank you. Can you explain what you mean? I don’t understand well enough
Seee body ohhhhhhhh
😂 e gba mi ohhhhhhhh
Please translate all his songs
Can you give me maybe top 3? I get a lot of requests and can’t do all but try to do some

Simbhaut thanks for the video... Kindly help me understand Abobi by patoraking
You’re welcome 🙂 Also I noticed you really like songs with deep meanings. I just listened to the song. I remember you requested If E Happen for Lagos and that was my first time hearing that song too.
@@Simbihawt lol
@@Simbihawt more love from Uganda..
Can't wait to party from Nigeria for the first time.. very soon
Hope you enjoy it!
The way she paused at "baby front and back boom baka boom" part. Swallowed a bit of saliva before saying u know what he means romancing. She couldn't be blatant. Lol. Thoughts in her mind. 😅
Nope have to keep it simple lol
I can now sing the song
Niceee☺️
I kinda feel Rema was singing about Selina
Oh interesting!
what does "soco" mean?
I don’t know it to have any true meaning but I always assume it means like dance or something (based off Wizkids song Soco)
Are you a Nigerian!? You sound completely American.
Hi, yes I am Nigerian. Both of my parents were born and raised in Nigeria. I am also American as I was born here and lived here for most of my life
@@Simbihawt I see you're taking advantage of your heritage. Really proud of someone like you
Thank you 🙂
So what does soco means?
I understand it to mean to dance
@@Simbihawt thanks
thank you so much!
You're welcome 🙂
Let’s romance
What does "Soco!" Mean lol that's why I came lol
😂😂 sorry I missed this in the video! Soco as I know doesn’t have any real meaning but how I see it is like dance (based off how Wizkid used it in his song called Soco )
This Soco word is really confusing now. It's like a secret meaning...
You know too much😭😭
Haha I’m trying 😂 thank you
I remember in the year 2011 my grandfather told me that one day people will waste their time reading my comment.🙂
😂 he’s good I have to meet him lol
If it needs translating it’s not english
Some people do not understand Nigerian Pidgin English and Nigerian slang so they ask me to translate these songs too 🙂
E get as you go move wey I no go gree is trying to paint a picture of how seductively the lady is moving and that it would get to a degree that he would lose control and ....😉😉😉😜🤯🤯🤯🤭🤭😠
Ah! 😂 at your emojis! Oh okay thanks for explaining that my mind didn’t even take me there
