Yeah, that's what they taught us when I served. When dealing with impalement, don't pull it out. Keep it immobilized and bandage around it to keep from bleeding out.

Trudy is such a badass, using her police smarts to save Sherry and herself until help arrived. But the way she just broke down when Mouch saw her and ran over. Their relationship is too pure for this world 🥺😭♥️
Trudy's scream when Severide was searching for survivors was bone-chilling. The desperation in Trudy's voice along with the fear and relief that someone was coming for them was palpable.
The editing on that explosion is phenomenal... the main desk is literally just selected and dragged off screen, there's no animation of the desk flying, the person sitting there doesn't react/flop around, just amazing stuff.
Strange how everything ended up where it shouldn’t due to the blast but the studio camera remains upright. Yes, those things are heavy but not heavy enough to withstand a close-range explosion.

Id love to hear a doctor's perspective on what her mobility would actually be like with the glass in her arm still vs out, because yes she'd bleed out, enough people have spread that message, but if it gave her better mobility/use of her arm there would be something to be said for her taking it out to rescue the other person/get herself to safety because the limited time you have before bleeding out is more time than the infinite doom of not being able to potentially escape a burning building.
it sucks and is so smart that she knew she was gonna die or felt it and needed to get as much of the information out and she was coherent enough to do it

@@thelucky3866 what they often do is have a dummy in the actors place and have the chest compressions viewed in a way where you can't see it's a dummy, that way the person can do legit chest compressions without breaking someone's ribs, or the real person is wearing a vest underneath.
Came back to this clip because something like that just happened in Israel in two different, very crowded bus stations, 22 injured and one 16 year old boy died. This is horrible!

Just two things, one would a officer know better than to pull out shrapnel? Two would a cop not take out their phone to video a possible last statement while in an ambulance?
Ok, a few things 1) A building that size ABSOLUTELY needs to be sprinklered. Even if its an older building, any renovation they have done to that building would have triggered something that big to come up to fire code. 2) While fire storbes are activated, there is no fire alarm 3) Given the size of that broadcast studio their occupant load would have liekly required 3 or 4 exits out. And those exits are required to be placed remotely from one another so that its impossible to block all the exits without intentionally trying to do so. Without the sprinklers, it shouldnt have been more than 100 feet, illuminated by a battery powered light and sign 4) Speaking of lights, there should be emergency backup light packs on the wall to provide illumination in the event of the fire alarm triggering or blackout. 5) the placement of that office is questionable. Depending on its use and occupancy, it shouldnt be possible for it to exit ONLY into the broadcast studio, as that would break the intervening space requirement 6) Depending on how they classify that studio, its likely that there would need to be a rated partition between the A-1 tv studio and the B office which would make that transfer duct illegal without an automatic smoke damper

Many news stations no longer have a crew in the studio. Instead the camera is operated remotely by an outside office. Usually there is only the anchor, and guest in the room.
I know this is TV, but just saying, if you ever get a nail or other sharp object impaled into your body DO NOT PULL IT OUT! Stabilize the object and DO NOT TOUCH IT until you get to a hospital. While the object is still inside your body it puts pressure on the wound and arteries, slowing or even stopping most of the bleeding. Obviously you're still going to bleed, but if you pull that object out there's nothing stopping the blood from gushing out and you from death unfortunately. TLDR: If you get stabbed don't take it out or you might die within seconds :)

Many news stations no longer have a crew in the studio. Instead the camera is operated remotely by an outside office. Usually there is only the anchor, and guest in the room.
I know this is TV, but just saying, if you ever get a nail or other sharp object impaled into your body DO NOT PULL IT OUT! Stabilize the object and DO NOT TOUCH IT until you get to a hospital. While the object is still inside your body it puts pressure on the wound and arteries, slowing or even stopping most of the bleeding. Obviously you're still going to bleed, but if you pull that object out there's nothing stopping the blood from gushing out and you from death unfortunately.
TLDR: If you get stabbed don't take it out or you might die within seconds :)
