Not gonna lie the amphibious zombies are cool as hell hahaha
well at least they do't need to breathe, and now we know how zombie pirate came to be
Newbie question, was that a glitch or do vampjre counts can traverse deep water becouse their unjts dont breath?
@@bazirancovek it was a glitch they are absolutely not meant to do that, but it looked like pirates of Caribbean which is cool
@@bazirancovek it was a glitch they are absolutely not meant to do that, but it looked like pirates of Caribbean which is cool
Those zombies walking underwater is terrifying! It's like that zombie movie Land of the dead
You think it was a bug or an intended feature of that factions zombies? I wanna try a sneaky river flank. Might not be much punching power but a full surround on a choke point would be effective enough
That honestly makes so much sense
or that moment at the end of the first pirates of the carabian movie
It would be awesome if Vampire Coast could move 2x faster underwater through rivers and lakes
If you think about it, there are a lot of cool 'home terrain advantage' ideas someone could make into a mod
Tomb Kings hide units and get ranged cover in sandstorms that move across the map / can be summoned with magic
Maybe let Kislev/Norsca ranged units camouflage in the snow as long as they stand still and hold fire. Turn up that Sabaton 'White Death' and hide 19 streltsi
Skinks climb jungle trees (camouflage and cover but maybe lower accuracy and stops them while they climb up/down)
Empire gets minor ammo replenishment/healing near intact buildings
Let Vampires replenish their trash mobs by standing on piles of corpses
"Gentlemen... take a walk."
- Zombies walk through the deep river
*~He's a Pirate starts playing~*
Zerk: life magic doesn't have a damage spell for blobs
Dwellers below: what have I done to wrong you?
yeah dwellers below is one of the best spells in the game for just that
Even Awakening of the Wood can do some work, if your life mage is low level. It's quick and triggers the passive.
@@jordyvandersluijs4484 This is no longer the case. It's slightly below average value now.
Holding a chokepoint with gunpowder units is one of the most satisfying things in games like this.
A Comet of Cassendora or Ikit Nuke just inflicting army losses on the spot is probably a bit more, but good gunlines can he a good second
Yes, but you can achieve the same feeling by using bloated corpses. Doomrockets are kinda bland for me now given that i've used them for so many times but is limited to one per battle.
Nice burning head lol
Edit: That Kislev killbox with the gate is a cool one, gonna implement that into my gameplay thx
Same
Same here. Should be doable with my High Elves using Sea Guard and Sisters of Avelorn
AI did that shit to me once,i was devasteted😂😂
Another thing you can do when the enemy AI outranges you is to hide most of your army in forests and have a unit visible far behind those forests to lure the enemy ranged units closer than they would normally go.
Alternatively you can use fast flying characters to quickly fly into range of enemy archers and artillery on their own side of the map and keep them distracted while their melee units continue onward to engage your army. Separating their army in this way makes them much easier to take apart. Obviously this doesn't work if the enemy has fast flying units of their own, and it's dangerous to use against gunpowder.
Skirmish infantry or cav can also do a pretty good job, even if you suck at micro.
Just kinda fling 'em in with Skirmish mode on, they'll do a bit of damage, and probably draw off 3, 4, 5 units to chase them around for a while.
Worst case they get caught and break off the corner of the map or something, best case they take negligible damage and effectively take a quarter of the enemy force around while playing the Benny Hill theme
Zerkovich: provides 12 minutes of advise about using choke points
Legend of Total War: places all his armies far away from choke points since AI is stupid and thinks you should be at the other side of the choke point, so they will all gatehr there and send few units to your army to be slaughtered one at a time.
Still, if you don't want to cheese the AI too much (this video shows how the AI doesn't follow logic movements anyway) these advice sound pretty good
nicely done - only one thing - Life magic has Dwellers Below which can be devestating AOE.
Those aquatic zombies just confirmed it. The next installment in the total war series will be Pirates of the Caribbean.
I got a jar of dirt
@@freethinker9480 Lore of Dirt
It is undoubtedly the worst lore I've ever heard of.
"Aye, but you have heard of it."
@@ImKillingTime hahaha no shit! I just had a battle yesterday where Eltherion intercepted Arkhan IN THE MIDDLE OF THE OCEAN. Zoom in to play the battle and all of a sudden we are in the middle of a mountain range.... For a company that has nailed naval combat before, it's very sad to see it missing now.
Once I realised how 3 units of skeleton archers decimate one 20stack with few basic skellies and reserves on a choke point defence map, i started using it when overwhelmed
I've always found in a double chokepoint you can sometimes draw the ai through one then run around the back with fast units. I often have my whole army on one side with 2 elite units on the flank closest to the other choke point and if they send troops across it I use the elites to block it off and often send a wizard to back them up. 2 phoenix guard/ iron breakers/ chosen can often hold an entire army long enough to destroy the other flank with the rest of your army and come round the back
Agreed! Sometimes splitting your forces can get favorable trades with the AI army, where you can exploit a magic or mobility advantage. Then crush the splinter force quickly, and either surround the opponent or double your troops back to reinforce the primary line.
Tree Kin deserve special mention here I think, given their status as epic roadblocks. Playing as Alarielle, had two units of Tree Kin tie up one whole side of a two-chokepoint battle, freeing up my entire army to focus on the other side. Absolutely netted me a win against N'kari that I had no business surviving
A couple monsters are great for this really.
Bastiladons, especially with the Arc of Sotek kinda need at least a unit of Skinks to be stuck with but can do great, Stegadons can do it in a pinch, personally I love Stegadons on twin chokes, to hold one for a while, then push through and flank the main blob. Hydras are fantastic for it, most of the greater Daemons, mammoths, rotting Leviathans can do it.
Not all monsters are great for it, but quite a few are
Hey if you’re an Avelorn player, can you tell me how to use Dryads effectively? Mine always seem to get melted before actually dealing damage, even though they’re “damage dealing”. I don’t do anything dumb, I just usually have them flank a unit of spears or something but they always struggle.
@@czechmeoutbabe1997 I hate to say it, but I rarely use dryads. I don't get very good returns on them either, so I largely ignore them and phase them out once I have better options. Early game I actually use rangers as cheap DPS, supplemented by archers and sea guard. Late game, I use a front line of entirely tree kin with Phoenix Guards on the flanks, then using Sisters of Avelorn and Swordmasters as my main damage dealers. I wish I could be more help, but I've never found a good use for the dryads either 😕
I like to use rock, cliff and mountain to choke one side of my army. If the enemy can't surround one side (or need more time to do it), it is easier to protect the rest of my line, my other flank and even my back. With the Dawi, a well place mountain is your best ally.
Agree, especially against Greenskins, who seem to especially love to sent Boar Boys around the back to hit ranged units, having just a flank or couple units covered can mean the difference between successfully enclosing your units, or a bunch of greased up hogs slipping through a gap
You use the map to make their army to make a 90 degree turn, and it forms a massive clump of them at the point where they turn and it slows the AI to a crawl as well. On one side of a river for example where they have to cross the bridge and make a sharp right or left to get you. You wait a bit of the way down left or right if you see what i mean.
The river crossing zombies gave me such a Myth: The Fallen Lords vibe that I would not even be mad at the AI for cheating with that glitch.
Sir, I'm still playing Warhammer 2, but I appreciate your videos nonetheless! Cheers!
Great video! I would actually love it if there were units that could travel through deep water which was normally impassable. I feel TW Warhammer could benefit from more interesting varieties of terrain which interact differently with unit types and traits.
I had a strat back in WH1. Called it a dread castle; basically it was a mostly box formation of high armored skellies, vampires that focused on single target spells, and vanguard flyers.
Kill the enemies leaders with spells, allow enemies to fight skelly, lose moral & flee, and flyer kill runners. Super slow but won 3vs1 with it
King Leonidas: This is where we hold them! This is where we fight! This is where they die!
Captain: Earn these shields, boys!
[Spartans cheer]
King Leonidas: Remember this day, men, for it will be yours for all time.
Give them nothing, but take from them, EVERYTHING
Had to say it...fight in the shade. HAHAHAHA!
Missile units do more damage to targets lower than them? Whaaaat
They have the high ground, and yes the bonus goes up to 30%
Found your videos today and man you bring up a lot of good points ^^ look forward to watch through your content to improve my gameplay!
Thanks for advice on battle tactics. The V formation sounds interesting I will try it out later.
Honestly if THAT is what the aquatic ability did for the Vampire Coasts zombies (I know those are Vampire counts) it would make the ability less useless.
Your content keeps getting better and better with every upload
THose underwater zombies would be dope as heck for VC
After reading Felix and Gotrek zombieslayer I’m so happy zombies can move underwater it’s so fitting
Life magic not good against blobs? What about dwellers below?
Thought the same. I suppose it's a multiplayer/custom vs AI battle and he didn't take Dwellers Below or it's campaign and his caster isn't leveled up enough yet. Therefore, he meant "the spells of Life magic I currently have."
Its pretty obvious to use joke points as much as possible but some of these tactics I never thought about, like the Armoured Kosars/Streltsi mix on siege battles
This is what I love about TWW2 and TWW3. I almost prefer defending more than attacking because you get to wipe out or repel larger armies. Using choke points and siege battles on walls against larger forces is my favorite part of the game honestly.
A sacrifice to the Bridge Gods !!!
One of the problems I have with being the outnumbered defender in field chokepoints is when the enemy trickles in, particularly the ranged units. I want to lock down all of their melee and go after their ranged. If I stay put, I get peppered by missiles. If my fast units chase down their ranged, other ranged still trickling in wears them down. It's a lot of micro and usually I don't have enough fast units to survive the battle - but if I go around with too many fast units in my stacks my ranged or front line components become too weak or few in number and I get the feeling that 20 isn't enough units in a stack.
I have never played on a river map. I am very sad about this after seeing how sick they look/seem to play.
This makes me miss the maps from Total War: Napoleon, they were so big and diverse and some had cities with bridges and hills for artillery positions and so on. The intense street battles and fighting over bridges and other crossings were so much fun. I do wish they repurposed some of them into the warhammer franchise.
I love those tactical Videos:D
Imagine being one of the melee dudes in the V hoping to high heaven your missile/riflemen dont miss and hit you instead
Those zombies just went full pirates of the caribbean on him. They probably just finished watching the movie and realized hey we can do that shit too.
The only maps I seem to get are open fields dotted with literally dots of trees. Bonus if there's a huge hill 1 step in front of my deployment area that goes not down, but up. Also, most probably it's me needing to defend against an army 3 times larger than mine. :/
I kinda miss the ol' medieval tactic when defending behind walls where the AI sends their commander, on horse, through the gates before any other soldier has even gotten half the distance. And what does the enemy commander meet? 3 units of militia spearmen who instantly destroy the flimsy, old style attack unit, cavalry, thanks to the old game engine.
I almost never see maps that aren't just open fields, which are honestly boring when you see them 99% of the time. Wish there was more variety and more often
I beat 3 full Crisis orc armies with a Maxed out Garrisson basically using this tactic, they kept charging down the one gate into my stormvermin and other fodder as my slingers and catapults and towers kept pelting them
Hey man, you ever gonna do guitar videos again? Been binging your old videos and you're so talented. So sad to see you haven't posted in a while, I absolutely love your tutorials and covers
It always seems that there are some Stroltzi around
I've had every unit from every race be able to walk into water like that. I think it's a bug. They're attempting to flank you through the water, but they can't get up the other side and the AI eventually causes them to turn back and try a frontal approach.
Gratias Tibi, Guardsman.
watching that while playing in the Desert....
The AI really needs work to not clumb so badly.
Apparently I play like the AI does. My units are always clumped horribly.
Honestly, with the other bullshit the ai gets (limitless income, faster army and building times) I think it kinda evens out.
@@botep5529 those are all Campaign map things. Clumping AI however is a battle map thing that makes it less interesting to play
@@rubz1390 true, but if ai was smart in battle and cheating on the campaign the game would be stupidly hard (for me at least) I would settle for Ai being smarter in battle but also not pooping out 3 armies for the price and time that it takes me to make one
You remember Rome 1 choke points? Hoplites could beat almost anything.
Or bridge battles
Since when can the zombies walked underwater to cross the river?
Never watched pirates of the caribbean 1?
The Zerk is back ... yeah!
Yeeeeessss tactics talks! Love it
Didn't know that Vampire Count zombies could even do that ingame.
Edit: so that was a glitch? Well that's lame.
2:00 You took to minutes to burning head
Why wouldn't zombies be able to walk trough water? It's not like they need to breath?
Medieval 2 veterans going: "Where are the stakes???" ah, good cheesy times... ;)
What if you play Khorne you have no spells and your only ranged is cannons which are not that great, do you just charge through ?
how do you get the AI to attack a siege battle? Feel like I am always the attacker and never the defender. They only attack when there is no chance of losing and so gets autoresolved.
Bro first thing first your guide videos are perfect. Absulutely perfect. İ have a question. Why i cannot make city or siege war attack or defense? Are there any button or click on options menu?
What do you mean ? In custom battles?
@@davidring681 no, in immortal empires campaign
@@alirizaaslan4783 so if you are attacking the city you are automatically the attacker and cannot swap places and play the defenders if that’s what you mean. If you are playing a coop campaign or a vs campaign with another player then in the pre battle set up you can select to join army to support the attacker if that’s you. Or join the defdenders. Even in coop campaign the other player can join and command the enemy army to help or hurt you in battle.
@@alirizaaslan4783 click on your city, then on enemy besieging that city
Alternatively to other answers, they changed the siege mechanic : if you attack an un-walled settlement, it will be a land battle. If you attack a walled minor settlement, it will be a city battle. And if you attack a major settlement it will be a proper siege...
Anyone else get some Curse of the Black Pearl vibes from those zombies?
Chock points are a great thing for dwarfs
Gee seems like I've been playing the game wrong
Hey Zerk, how do i line my army up in the deployment stage?
I----I I------I I-------I I------I I------I (melee)
I----I I------I I-------I I------I I------I (range)
most of these armies just simply have too many melee units, and not enough ranged units lol
Ah choke points, just like the corner of a map right? 🤣👍🙈
did you forget dwellers below?
why did that comet land in the WRONG place?!
wont work against a human though because u just gonna get defeat in detailed
You aren't smort if you don't utilize the CHOKEPOINT
There's no point holding choke points in this game. Your better off setting up to the far left or right of the choke. The enemy will clump up as they turn the corner and thats when you can bomb the hell out of them.
This also negates the need to split your army up and weaken it, and also negates thier range superiority. 🤷
Sorry , but this is how NOT to fight choke-points. You should set up your army at right angles to the enemy overall force, at maximum weapon range from one of the choke-points. Then see the AI fail :)
@lionheartx10 take some notes
Legend: I will ignore the choke point and instead dick their forces around with my lords and caster heroes, strategically eliminating their most dangerus units for my army, while my actual army is hanging back or running around them until the enemy is tired out and weak enough to be defeated by my army.
Yeah I was thinking this too, and realized it's just ai exploitation, and not really plausible against human players lol
cav cant kill chaos dwarfs arty plus they will nuke yr chokepts
>>"We shouldn't split our army, I say let all our forces face half of their army to quickly decimate it and then deal with the second half.
>>Literally splits main army to face the second half that's crossing the second bottleneck, but is going to face it in the open now.
Thanks, didn't watch the rest of the advices :D
