Allen's new book just arrived in the mail. As you say, I love how accessible it is yet extremely rich and thought/heart provoking. The compact size is perfect.
I gave my life at least 3 hours last night to the Grammys. I wanted to see and hear Joni Mitchell and Billy Joel. I made it to the end but regret my investment. The content rang so hollow for me…it was like a sales pitch trying to convince the audience that the quality of content was incredible - it fell flat and hopeless. Completely Godless

Lots of interesting thoughts here. It's interesting, too that video games about playing sports are artificial, but we're so deep into the artificial that we forget that sports themselves are artificial mock-battles. We only see them as more real than video games because they are more physical, but they're the same thing just at a different order of magnitude. It's still an altar to an artificial god. It's just a more ingrained one, so we don't see it.
Yes yes yes! So true! Like you said the sports games are actually fake battles that have been set up for the entertainment of man. In the game, no one is fighting for a wife, or fighting over land, or fighting an animal for food, etc. they've tried to set up a meaningful prize (money) to be awarded to the winner, (well actually a higher sum of money). But the actual win apart from the prize is meaningless. I love sports! What I love about it the most is improving my skill. But I don't enjoy competing at all. The win has always meant nothing to me. Hey, maybe that means I've always been more Godly lol 😂 No, I realize it's just that some have more of a competitive nature than others. I've recently quit playing pickleball. It's sad to me, because I haven't been able to find people that would just like to have fun and hit the ball back and forth. It seems that almost everyone other than me wants to win! Thankfully I have tennis and a number of friends that just like to hit around, and I'm content 😊

If I was a parent today and my teenager was trying to decide what to do, I would push skill trades. AI can not be a plummer, mechanic, roofer, or any professional like that. They will be making more money in 10 years than most. A I will wipe out most white collar jobs.
