Today we're going to swing by the crawl space conversion job and see what new information we can glean about this process. In this vlog we're going to discuss:
    What is Underpinning?
How are the new footers placed?
How are dowels placed within the new footers?
How does the old foundation tie to the new foundation?
I'd like to recommend this Makita DML811 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion Cordless/Corded Work Light because it's a tool that I've used regularly on the job over the past three years and it's upheld the test of time after being kicked around, beat up, dropped, gotten wet, you name it. It's been a good light.

I'm impressed by how much hard work goes into a job like this.

What an incredible feat. That makes such a huge basement! How tall will this basement be? Looks to be well over 10'. How big is the house, looks like the basement goes on forever!

I love these videos, is there anyway you can get a little tiny tractor down there because that shoveling dirt in stages towards the opening is pretty crazy, but if that’s the only way you can do it..but there’s gotta be another way, but this is pretty cool what you do

Good observation! It may be possible to some heavy equipment down there but may not be practical. It's a tight squeeze even for the guys to get around. We talk a little bit about some of those complications in this video as well czcams.com/video/ZchQaFTPglE/video.htmlsi=WAIMCRm2cs44LE_7

Where's the link to the video that talks about the COST?? You mention this video at the 11:30 minute mark, but there's no link for that video or in the description
Why wouldn't you just directly answer the question in THIS video? You're already talking about it. Just give us a number.
What's the average cost of a crawlspace conversion?
Is that so hard to do?

Lol mesothelioma is lung cancer caused by asbestos. Not usually a huge risk in new concrete work. Plus if ANY of what you're doing involves asbestos, the EPA is gonna be your new proctologist.
That's interesting seeing it done via shotcrete versus formed and poured. Am I correct in guessing this project is being poured as you go (once you have enough prepped for a truckload) versus having everything excavated as in past videos?

Silicosis is the risk there, they should be wearing masks still.

Oh lol!!! Yea, that is pretty much spot on how we do it

Mesothelioma is not only caused by asbestos, it is simply cancer of the mesothelium (a thin tissue layer surrounding internal organs like the lungs and heart). Approximately 20% of cases are not asbestos but asbestos is particularly effective for causing this type of cancer. People who work with concrete and high particulate jobs (like digging and mining) do see higher instances of mesothelioma but Silicosis is much more common disease to affect these workers. PPE should really be in use for these jobs. My former foreman used to say OSHA regulations were written in blood, and I've seen enough horrors first hand to not cheap out on safety for myself or my workers.
