That scene in that bathroom where he tries to turn it into an adventure then cries in the floor is one of the most heartbreaking I've ever seen.

@@orangewarm1 When reading up on the full story, there were other reasons as to why the dad wanted his son with him; despite his situation. Also, in hindsight, having his son with him not only taught both of them important life lessons..but also gave the dad even more motivation/desperation to strive for his career while fighting through their struggles. Their father and son bond is beyond strong 💪🏾

The BATHROOM scene, at the subway station, was THE MOST HEARTBREAKING thing to see in this film and mostly because THIS WAS INSPIRED BY A TRUE STORY. 😢

In the ending when Will and Jaden are walking away and there’s another man that walks by them….. that’s him. That’s the real Chris, the man that went through this with his son in real life.

It's hard just getting clean water even cold water and a public restroom as we were judged for our misfortunes. If I could bring one thing to this world it would be compassion.
I actually met the man who this story is about, Chris Gardner when I was a kid. He signed a copy of his memoir for my mom. Truly a powerful story. Love your reactions btw❤
What’s messed up is how many men go through situations like this in real life and they usually get no sympathy and or support. I know it’s just a movie but how much you felt for him gave me faith that I’ll find a supportive woman.

I love this movie since i was 6. This movie taught me that being role model or determined hard worker thanks to Will Smith. That man never walk out on his son after his wife abandoned them when they need her the most. Someday if i have children, i would never ever ever ever walk out on them when they need me the most. I never abandoned them. Nothing more important than family and friends. Family first. Always family first.

First time I saw this movie I was like 8 & my parents were divorced & my dad was going through a rough time. I couldn’t watch this movie again for years bc it hit too close to home. It made me appreciate my father a lot more & since that day I told myself I’d never ever hate him for being unfaithful to my mother & messing up their marriage.
