My parents were cheap af growing up. I'm not ashamed to say i'm 23 and spent hundreds of dollars on my calico critter house.

I’m almost 30 and I have the starter house with 3 calico critters and just added the washer and vacuum to the house. I plan on getting the house you have soon so they can have more space. I love calico critters ❤️

I'm 15 and I just bought my first calico critters family the little kangaroo ones. To be honest I've just been looking for an excuse to buy these but honestly they're so cute. It's really nice to know that I'm not the only one who likes them.
I’m in middle school and because of society I feel insecure about liking toys and collecting them, but this definitely gave a relief. I’m asking for some of these for Christmas ☺️

Did you know that everywhere except for America, they are called sylvanian families, because in 1992 tomy lost the rights to name them sylvanian families in the US, so they called them calico critters. I am 10,i have 17 buildings and 66 figures! I love sylvanians, and they are awesome! (I wrote this when I only watched 25 seconds, if you mension sylvanians here then soz)
I've always wondered why there were called sylvanian families outside of the US! I realized the name difference while I was looking to buy stuff :) also I dont think I mentioned it in this video so you're comment is appreciated :)

Today me and my sister went to Walmart and found the calico critters on SALE! I got the red roof cozy cottage and a kitchen! I’m a teenager and I love them, I love the big house that you got!

I started collecting in early 2017, and I became addicted to them (nearly 600 figures thanks to eBay!). Cute, as you say, but representing a utopian lifestyle that is friendly and attractive. I am male and have taken early retirement so anyone can be an addict! Writing stories set in their world is so "feelgood".
Omg I loved calico critters when I was little and I always wanted a doll house my parents were really poor so I never got any. I’m 33 now I don’t have any children. I saw it at Barnes and noble one day and my husband was like why don’t you just get it. So I did now I’m collecting them and honestly it heals my inner child.

i started collecting CC three years ago. i'm 52. they ARE *cute*. i just keep getting more and more - eventually i'll have everything. LOL they're called Calico Critters in the US only - everywhere else worldwide they're called Sylvanian Families. i'm currently in the process of painting the exteriors of the houses i have and will eventually wallpaper all the rooms.
I was a kid in the ‘80’s and in those days these were called Sylvanian Families, and the only place you could buy them was at Sanrio stores (where Hello Kitty stuff is) they were pricey even back then. I only had ONE little animal, a bunny.
I’m having a lot of fun buying them now. I’m waiting a few months, buying a little at a time, so I can give my kids a fun amount to play with.
They’re still called Sylvanian family’s, but in US and Canada and idk where else it’s called calico critters, but in AU NZ UK and other places there Sylvanian families. They’re the same thing they just have different names on the boxes and the family’s are called different names for some reason.
For example the calico critters version of the rabbit family with brown bits on there ears is called the hopscotch rabbits
But for sylvanian family’s there the chocolate rabbits
I’m looking up these cuties because I was thinking of buying some for my daughters birthday....but now I’m inspired to start my own little collection 🥺🤍 A combination of animal crossing and hello kitty is so accurate!

I know when you're young that's easier said than done but I think it's so cool you like calico critters and I'm sure there are a lot of other teenage boys that like them too! I know it may not feel like it though. also you can enjoy them and not have to tell anyone if you dont want to lol just know you can come to any of my calico critter videos and you definitely won't be made fun of. you're so cool to me 🤗

You will find that a hobby is calming, fun, you focus intently on getting things done, and your imagination can go wild. Your critters can be anything you want them to be...Starwars, your own city. Get ready to have fun and ignore anyone that does not have your creativity and imagination!!

Little tip- use tweezers to help move around little peices in your calico critter house! It helps me so much since my hands would get in the way of all the little peices!

What is really messed up is that they have two versions of the large house I found this out after buying the one that is in this video at Jo-Ann's Craft Store and then almost a month later I saw that they had the exact same house but it was a special edition of it and it came with almost all furniture and some critters 2 so I had to buy that one as well so now my daughter and I have two houses but God knows she has all the families so there is lots of room for them to live in the houses LOL
