As a high school teacher, I really enjoyed hearing you articulate a strategy I already use with students by becoming irresistible in order to gain their compliance. I was unaware why my strategy worked until hearing your explanation. You are a gifted communicator, and I’m looking forward to learning more from your expertise!

No kidding! I often experience frustration when someone starts a conversation that feels like a slow walk to asking for a favor, using 3 or 4 teaser questions before they make their real point.

This made me think of the difference between an introvert and an extrovert. You seemed to have fallen into an explanation of why people would be willing to talk to an extrovert because they ask or suggest simple ideas. An introvert overthinks or thinks deep on some level so their ideas, suggestions, and/or expectations might demand more mental energy from others so they may get some negative feedback when they do come out of their shell. As an introvert, I do find it hard to keep it simple. But it is good to understand the why. Great video, thank you. At least I know how to become more appealing, but I will need alot of practice 😂

Andrew teaching people how to human. 💪
A lot of the examples he'd given that he doesn't reply to comes from ego and a lack of vulnerability. And that's an issue we've been facing but good news is that the pendulum is swinging the other way with more men being conscious in how they show up and then actually doing something about it. We have to nurse ourselves and then the wounded females of today.

no doubt, bustamonte is a sharp, intelligent person. no doubt. granted kudos for graduating from USAFA.
few years with the agency and he treats the former, and he is permitted i assume, like it was an MBA pre program.
i worked for DoS in the middle east for years. the agency CI and others i knew. mostly older than bustamonte, retired living in a foreign nation. safe, secure. one teaches at a US college online and his cover is he was a retired HS principle.
from what i know, they would put a bullet in their head in their aunt's kitchen before they would...
talk and yapp like a lot of these guys do on: vetting, NS, training, selection and trade craft. then again, they did both 25+ yrs career.
the agency was not just "a" career stepping stone to making big money with their own company.
    this is much different.

Hi Andrew. That was a great discussion.
I am noticing the parallels between your insights and Bishop's Framework for communicating under stress to prevent misunderstandings.
In this framework one structures responses to provide as clear, concise and low-processing overhead as possible in accordance with a basic structure:
Greeting - observation - concern - proposal -request for buy-in.
So something like (taking an aviation example):
    Hey George,
I am seeing a fuel imbalance. I am concerned maybe we have a fuel leak.
I would like to brief diverting in case this worsens.
Is that all right with you?
Does that closely play into what you are suggesting here?

It's okay, that just makes you human. Maybe this is a Eureka moment? I don't know. That is for you to decide.
