I'm a person who likes the romance genre, but this anime while I was watching it I was too enticed to Takumi's drifting and the cars it didn't even clicked to me about Takumi's love life.
I just realize just now how bad Takumi felt that moment 😂
True Initial D is not shown in this light, only when you watch it you come to realize these things. but it is mainly a sports genre if you can consider street racing/drifting a sport. Also alongside it's Eurobeat soundtrack the races can be very enticing. 😁
During that race against the Evo 3, I think the same that Ryoske say, the sound of that engine, was a scream, not of sadness or pain, It was a Scream of Anger, AND when the engine AE86 blow, was the moment that Takumi, finally says, “Fuck Natsuki, good luck”
2:08 , I love this part because the song matches so well with Kyoichi’s Antilag System, it’s burning up for the 86. It’s well timed and cool how Sudo will just keep focus during the next buildup too. I love that!

Like, I get that what Natsuki was doing was a bit ick but in the end she gave it up and got a job to prove to Takumi that she was better than that. Some people would say that’s an outdated trope, the girl trying to prove to the guy she is worthy, but it is something that happens from time to time on both sides of the gender divide in real life.
But I can also understand Takumi’s reaction. Thats how I probably would have reacted at an earlier time in my life but now, where I am in my life, my first reaction would be to sit her down and ask why and if there is anything I could do to help her become financially stable with out the need for sugar daddies.
But that’s just me.
