  • Cheap homesteading got a new tractor. New for him it is an old Massey Ferguson 35 . The tractor dropped a valve so the engine needs some work. He bought it for a parts tractor but he think he’s going to get it up and running to keep.

Those old tractors can run for years. It will be nice to have both of them up and running. Take care Pete.

I have a 35. Don't run it much but when I do it always impresses me how such an old tractor can run so flawless. My tires are cracked up pretty bad, but I haven't lost any air in two years and I'm willing to roll the dice until they give up on me.

Good luck, looks really good, minus the engine trouble, curious to see what the problem is

Look forward to seeing the repair. Hopefully it will be just the one cylinder. I would definitely keep her. Two is better than one. Nice tractor for sure. Have a Blessed Day Pete! Justin

These motors are notorious for cracks in the deck and in between the cylinders. Put some bars leak and some aluminium powder in it to avert the possibility of the coolant leaking into the oil. Use orange coolant with no silica in it.

Mine are both Kubotas. I have both a 35hp and a 50hp - both 4WD. Each has its place. The 35 can go places the 50 will never fit or the ground won't support. The 50 can push, pull, lift,.etc more. All depends on what you need for a particular job
