Kelvin is a game changer. I love being able to do my thing and he's out finding resources. It's really nice for solo players to not feel so alone.

Quick tip, you can dismantle and reclaim your tarp as well as most other materials placed w/ the new crafting system

A Good tip is also the fact that you can "Break" the Tarp Tent and you get the Tarp back aswell as 1 of the sticks you used to raise it. Love that

If you press the X button. In the build menu you can get more stuff like traps
I'm sad it didn't release with VR support, but I'm sure they will add it somewhere along the way!
VR Support would be so cool to see added down the line!! I just hope its a smooth experience because I am one of the people who gets very nauseous while playing VR lol

When chopping down a tree you have to spin around the tree to get everywhere

The thing I do like is the fact that this game still feels like the original game. It’s evolutionary and not revolutionary, but it’s in a good way.
I’m surprised that the game has almost full controller support, the only thing that Ive seen wrong with it is you can’t cancel a build once you’ve selected it.
I know that’s one of my biggest complaints with the building system right now.
I hope they implement a way for us to cancel a build without having to destroy our structures
@@NDVGames I haven’t tried it, but I saw another video where the player pressed “C” and then he removed the log he wanted to remove
As prod said. You look at whatever piece you want and hold c, it will remove the piece.
how do you build a gate or somthin to keep the cannibals out of your base? they can just walk through the doors
I disagree and actually feel super disappointed with the building system as it is right now. What I’m missing the most is the creative freedom to create whatever shape of floor you wanted. In the new game there are only rectangular shapes available. Even with the big tree platform there’s no way to turn it into an octagon by connecting the end points. If they want a community that creates amazingly cool bases, then they need to make it possible to create floors in all kinds of angles. And also have some kind of support system for large floors on top of things and above water.
Don‘t forget, It‘s still Early access. Maybe they are going to add it in a later update

The building is cool but for the love of god why can’t I lock my door? The base is pointless if mutants can walk right in…is there something I’m missing or anyway to keep them out other than traps?
Its odd! Hopefully these things will be fixed in the next update, after endnight has heard community feedback
@@NDVGames definitely. I’m certain they will add it but it’s such an important feature to leave out, even if it’s early access. Game is great otherwise.

Me too! But (spoilers) you can actually 3DPrint the log sleds (I'm pretty sure) because I was able to 3D print a sled of some kind and I hope that's what its used for

I love the building but I don't understand why there is no log sled, that was a major part of why the forest was so fun
There's a way to get the sled
Hopefully the sled you can 3D Print is the one you can use for logs

Its still missing alot, like rock structures, fireplace, and some traps. The crafting menu is kinda dookie, not an efficient menu tbh. Building a decent sized house is like pulling teeth, then shoving them up your ass one by one, because the roof system is kinda goofy, unless Im the goofy one. BUT its in early access and I hope they iron this stuff out. Also having ZERO hotkeys for tools and weapons is the dumbest decision they made, its so infuriating having to hold "I" to bring your backpack up to then select your item. Its an unnecessary extra step.
I got SOTF and I'm not going to lie. I HATE the building.

I like the building system but I think the way that the roofing works is really annoying because you have to have posts keeping it up

On one of the pages it says that after you have posts and stable roof you can take them down.
The building is actually way more limiting than the first game. It just has cool animations.

It is! But I think that once we start playing more and more us players will get a better understanding of how it works and I feel like we will start seeing some really creative builds! I'm not feeling it yet... It just lacks stuff for me. I don't like how square the buildings become. I dont like how you cant fill out the upper gaps of the roof if you a triangle shape... I dont like how the colors of doors and such just blend together so much. Its such a dark contrast brown color. That whatever you build, blends together into this. Making depth to buildings near impossible. Perhaps with updates... But I feel like this is a lot of updates to ask for. Cuz they also gotta populate half an island, give more decor (sofas arent even a thing), amongst so many others... I'm very worried if they can pull off that much in 8 months. I'm hoping they are just hiding content at the moment, so they have something to show off with the next updates.... Cuz if this is everything.... I'm not sure if this will satisfy my itch same way as the forest 1. I play these games primarily for building. The forest 1 had its quirks, but due to its low restrictions. You could build anything, if you knew what you had in mind and how to merge objects.

No Mauro, many people are encountering this problem, hopefully endnight fixes this within the next patch
I disagree with building because it's so slow and it leaves bits of wood laying around and the crafting is annoying and slow plus there's no quick buttons for tools and weapons equipped. You have to hold I and then choose. To me so far the game is a let down.
I hope some of these little kinks get sorted out through early access because I 100% understand where your coming from. So hopefully Endnightgames will see some of the things we don't like about the building or the aspects that make it a bit annoying and change them up a bit! @@NDVGames I really hope they do, plus inventory is slow to move around in and eating berries is way too slow when in reality you can eat berries so fast. Eating over all should be faster and thank you, i hope you have a great day too!

Hey Josh, after rewatching the video I completely agree with you! I will continue to strive to improve my commentary over my gameplay! Making this type of content is still pretty new for me, but hopefully if you subscribed you will see the videos get better and the commentary less repetitive like you said! Cheers mate for the comment, it really does help me improve and when there's too much positive comments, I can never see where I can improve myself!
