Ironmouse is spot on with the commentary right at the end: It's easy enough to be macho about eating spicy wings and whatever on camera, but remember that you're going to be dealing with all those scoville units again on the way out.
About 5 years ago I went to a party where they had a challenge/betting pot throughout the night to keep eating One Chip Challenge chips until there was only one.
$20 bucks per buyin.
A lot of people dropped out of the first round and eventually it was down to me and this other guy.
We would constantly down those chips and our faces wouldn't't change. What the other people didn't know is that the heat receptors in our mouth were dead and gone. The heat receptors were just buzzing a little so you know it was still hot, but still nothing.
The habanero peppers someone brought for a "tie breaker" was not even hot; if anything it was soothing since the peppers were from the fridge.
We split the $400 pot between ourselves in the end.
But that night... I could feel the chips and hot stuff going inch by inch through my digestive tract until it was nothing but churning pain. I took Pepto and milk of magnesia but that was like saying the caboose would help a mile long train that already left the station.
The morning was the "second tasting" and I was blessed I was not constipated. It came out rapidly but hurt every millisecond. I would be bouncing between the toilet seat and shower as the only way to cope; hygiene be damned there was a fire in my ass and the fire engine was nowhere to be found
I called my friend that I appreciated the $200 but that I wanted none of it if I knew that was coming.

I don't know what the breakdown is but a lot of people don't get that "on the way out" burn. Myself included.

@8:00 - To give an idea of how hot 175000 scovilles is, Jalepenos are typically only 2500 to 10K, Tabasco and Cayenne sauce are in the 25K to 50K. 175K is in the Habanero level, which is 100k to 350K range, and Habanero powder/juices were used for TORTURE in South American cultures. Also, I think they misreported the ramen, since 8700 scoville units is in the Jalepeno range and their reaction made it more likely that it was in the 500-800K+ range, especially since they followed it up in the 3 million range.
Also, IIRC, eating spicy food can cause severe health issues if it's too hot for you to handle, including vomiting, heartburn, stomach burning, gastroesophageal reflux, heart palpitations and worse. In addition, the stronger the spicy level, the more severe the stomach and duodenal ulcer.

According to studies up until 5k or 8k can be good for a meal, enhancing the taste and also being very healthy.

I've had those spicy noodles btw, partly so I don't have to worry about my parents eating them all first but also they're tasty once you're used to them. It's oddly rewarding to build up resistance to a Samyang flavour, I've been able to finish all the flavours I've tried and gotten used to the regular one and most of the other flavours (except curry) save double spicy and habanero and Lime, which I need to work on. I haven't tried triple spicy yet because it scares me

Here's a sense of how spiciness is measured Ironmouse.
The Scoville Rating starts at 0 and goes to a max of 15,000,00.
0 means: no significant heat, and 15,000,000 means: Pure Capsaicin. Which is a chili pepper extract.
Or you can go by the pepper spiciness. At the bottom is 0=Bell Pepper, the Top 1,150,000=Bhut Jolokia Ghost Pepper.
The ghost pepper hasn't been the hottest since 2011. The current record holder is Pepper X at 2,693,000 Scoville units. Also, capsaicin is 16 million SHU, not 15.
And ghost pepper is a mistranslation. Bhoot means ghost in Hindi but it's Bhut for Bhutan the country. Like Naga jolokia names for Nagaland next to Bhutan. @@books96book0

To give some well known examples: bell pepper 0, banana pepper 500, jalapeno 2k, serrano 30k, habanero 350k, ghost 1 million, trinidad scorpion 2 million, carolina reaper (hottest pepper known) 4 million. Pure capsaicin (the stuff that makes peppers spicy) 16 million. The hottest substance known is called resinferatoxin, found in the sap of euphorbia resinfera, a cactus like plant native to morocco, which is rated approximately 16 BILLION 16,000,000,000, on the scoville scale. Disclaimer: do not try to eat resinferatoxin, the pain will quite literally kill you.
