Agreed to every word you said! However I will say I cut back on fast food period for my health and now eat/cook my own meals and because it’s cheaper I do have an even bigger budget for hot toys! But I have a rule where I don’t touch my savings for hot toys!
My storage unit is the dumpster🔥🔥. This or any hobby can get out of control quickly, any hot toys or 1/6 scale that people missed or want to get will cost them more and some just don't have control iver themselves and fall in that rabbit hole. There is always a time where you need to mobe stuff around and sale it off, end of day they just toys and collectibles and family is first and if I have to sell stuff to pay bill (cough...pandemic..🙄🙄🙄🙄). 🦇🦇🦇🍻

I really enjoyed this video!! I do disconnect on sixth Scale channels. I also follow other toy channels that don't collect Hot Toys. Follow sports, sub to lots of Heavy Metal bands.
I can't fathom having my collection all over the house. I keep it in my office, and i did this prior to living with my wife. Plus she would smack me if I did that lmao. But I don't think people ever did the math...sure if you have the box and sell the figure it's worth more. But if you toss the box and save the money on the unit and sell it loose...you will STILL BE AHEAD. Hundreds a month sunk into a storage unit to keep boxes is already more money out of your pocket than the difference of a boxed figure vs loose. I challenge those who do that to sit down and do the math. You'll probably end up tossing the boxes.
I destroy my boxes, do not see the point in hoarding boxes or paying to store them, ridiculous (they are boxes)! My collection only takes up one room! I do not spend what I cannot afford! Great subject!

On a lot of channels, every time a new fig comes out they say how great it looks, they have to have it, they're def pre ordering it, etc. I just dont get it when I think about inflation, the uncertainly of the economy, etc. The last fig I bought was about 2 yrs ago & yes there are figs since then I've wanted to buy especially when SC has 25% off. I love black series sw figs but they want $27 a fig. I see how I could come off as a hater but collecting just isn't enjoyable when I'm asked to pay unreasonable prices. I'm not going to stop collecting but it has to be a slam dunk for me like a HT Han Solo Bespin or Leia & Ewok @ Village. I wish more people like you & Sixth Scale Cantina would put more emphasis on financial aspects of collecting. Not trying to be a smart ass but I wish you had made this video a lot soon. I enjoyed your video & keep up the hard work.
Guilty as charged for a lot of these points mate 🙋🏻♂️😅 Having said that, I do think there’s an important distinction to be made between “obsession” and “addiction”. I could definitely quit the hobby at any time I want… 😬🫨🫠😂
