Honestly, I don’t know how I’m ever going to be able to watch the regular TT races again after seeing this. I used to wonder what all the fuss was about with the classic bikes from decades ago.

Absolutely beautiful, thank you, it took me back to my youth. My late brother used to buy Stanley Schofield records of the TT and Murray’s dad commentating , Graham, it gave me a lump in my throat remembering how used to listen on cold winter nights, even mum used to listen ( she was a bike fan, rode on the back of all of three brothers).
Thank you and great to hear those memories. Murray and Graham Walker were massive ambassadors for the TT and Graham of course was a fine competitor here too!
Really cannot beat that thumping 2-cylinder sound, especially from the ducatis.
I remember Hailwood ring the Honda Six at full revs. What a glorious noise.

Yes it is great and those star riders enjoy riding these classic bikes and it also gives them extra laps going around the famous mountain course, which helps them with regards to the June TT event. Thanks for your comment

Love it on the isle of man. We use to go with our local motorbike shop, Me and my mate would get off the ferry, do a tour round the island on a coach, this is 4 am lol then get our heads down on a bench on the sea front... it was cold lol

I enjoyed the sounds that thankfully you did not cut off prematurely :) Of ALL the stuff on the net about the TT that I've come across, I like your content the most and for that matter, you're the only one I've subscribed to. I'm not a biker/rider and only learned about the TT when a friend mentioned a game and posted a link to real TT footage as a reference. I was instantly hooked and have been watching numerous vids ever since. However, you're the one whose vids I've been enjoying the most :) Keep it up and even more so, keep enjoying the whole circus :)

Thank you so much for this Anthony. It was absolutely brilliant. I haven't been to the Island for more than 25 years, but it brought it all back. You chose some great locations, but there are so many over there. It was great to see Mick Rutter take a win. I have known him since he was about 14 and he used to clean our bikes at a bike shop in Kidder. . He's had fine career and more than that, he's a really nice bloke.

Thanks for your comment and I agree that TT riders are down to earth humble people who do not seek attention. They get sponsored and receive respect and acclaim if they pull off a big result but the financial rewards are small and the risk to life and limb high. They are modern day gladiators

Doesn't compare to a multicylinder 4-stroke.
I used to hate the wall to wall 2-strokes in the 1970s, so I might be biased!

Hello; I decided to let a comment here due to this video is just perfect! I am not a fan of races or sport bikes but I really like old bikes; in fact, I have 3 Triumphs (a 48 custom, a 79 in a 67 frame modified and a 79 dual plugs head) and no car.
So I stumbled upon your clip here. Locations and set up greats; sound of the machinery excellent; comments very very helpful to have a notion of what s going on; editing very good. Vibe excellent. Thank you for your time and efforts to bring us that live in other continent some of the TT races

I thought long and hard about the best way to put a long video together about the Classic TT and concluded there should be information but not in a way that detracted from the sound of the bikes! So I I used some text information rather than a voice over commentary. I am going to make another classic tt video this year so watch this space and thanks again! Good to hear from you. I'm not a biker but love the TT as I can't believe how faast and scary it is. I used to race 250cc superkarts in the 70/80's and thought I was brave but I would never have done this. You're vids are brilliantly done and I love the freeze frames with info. I'm going to subscribe right now.
Thanks for your message and support my brother was a top kart racer I know how fast them karts can go and they have amazing acceleration that would put most cars to shame😀 a 250 engine in a kart or bike sounds and smells fantastic
@@anthonycubbon741 Finally someone who knows about real karts. If it ever comes up in conversation, most will reply saying they've also raced "go karts" meaning at an indoor track. "go karts" was a term never used by us. I give up at that point.My time was the Martin Hines era. Derek Rogers was my team mate so to speak at PDS racing.
Anyway that's ancient history now. Thanks again for your vids and my new ambition is to go and watch the TT. I live in Lancashire so it's not a million miles away. What's your advice for booking a B+B or camping? I imagine they'd be booked up if it's not planned well in advance.

Far preferable to the main tt as they are the bikes from the time I grew up in and there seems to be a more relaxed atmosphere,, roll on next year get my son to go over on our motorbikes,, be great,, stay safe and enjoy your vids 👍👍👍👍☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️from Northern Ireland greatly appreciated

Horst Saiger has an onboard video of this I think. Either this race or a practice lap. He did very well to place third in this big bike classic TT on a Kawasaki.

The Paton....a classic bike???....the sound of the 250's though....and so smooth too .....bruce what a legend
@Mike W yep true enough.....but today's patron is hardly a classic unless they're riding a 1950's bike....

Like many of the bikes raced in the Classic TT, you can actually buy a Paton 500. A re-edition of the 1968 racer will set you back around £61,000.

@@droceretik At the Classic TT - one of the biggest classic events in the diary - the regulations are a minefield.
So, to clarify things, BikeSocial caught up with Chief Eligibility Officer, Mark George.
He said: “At the Classic TT our overall aim to have racing that’s as close as possible with as many bikes as possible crossing the finish line. We design the regulations in such a manner as to encourage bikes of a similar performance so that everyone, in theory, has a chance of doing well.”
But of course, the demands of the 37 and three quarter mile Mountain course puts strains on classic machinery. So many teams build modern machines in accordance to the regulations that bear as closer resemblance to the period motorcycle they represent as possible...... As it says "teams build modern machines".... Paton can build reliability into their engine where as you can never build that into say a TZ750
I really like how you waited till the very last bit of sound. A lot of these cut it off too early.
Thanks, I am glad you picked up on that point. I really like the sound of the bikes once they have gone past, the sound of machines changing up gears accelerating out of corners can sound really good!

Hi there, awesome filming, the footage and stills is amazing, but the engine sounds top the lot. How in the hell could anyone dislike this video, they must be in a constant rage at motorcyclists, i just dunno.

If you look at almost any CZcams video there will be dislikes no matter how good the content. It could indicate lots of things about the nature of the viewer including jealousy, stupidity, anger and any number of personality defects. it doesn't really matter as these comments are anonymous and have very little weight one way or the other. The critical stat is the views which was over 176,00 views, 1,300 likes and 45 dislikes but for enthusiasts of the TT, as long as we enjoy.

That is a good question and I am not entirely sure of what the regulations are. I do know though that many of the bikes are modern replicas of classic bikes and they are modified versions of the originals they were based on. Maybe someone with more technical knowledge can answer this question for you
