Hi Loren †I am having my Nikkah in June to an amazing man. We connected online after I converted to Islam and didnât know any other Muslims. He went to my university and had been friends with my friends boyfriend. I live in Australia and he lives in the UK. After 2 phone calls we knew we wanted to marry and told our parents, but have been waiting for 2 years and having to do a long distance relationship until we can afford the move. It has been the hardest but best 2 years of my life. It has been a labour of love to practice patience and continue supporting each other to stay disciplined and devoted. I have been looking at that exact 3 piece abaya you are giving away to be my wedding dress for a little while. I have not bought it because of the cost. My fiancĂ© and i spent our money to fly him to Australia to meet my family and ask my dad for permission to marry me. It was also the first time we ever met in person. It was terrifying but Alhamdulillah went really well and I love him even more. My wedding dress budget is $100AUD (roughly $50USD). We have so many expenses to move me to the UK that our Nikkah is going to be very small and simple - we canât afford more than the single ceremony with no more than 20 people. And we will sign legal documents in the UK at the registry office. Iâm a low key person so I am actually feeling grateful for this. The 3 piece abaya is out of my price range, especially with shipping.
Itâs been really challenging to find a dress I can wear that is modest. I need long sleeves, long dress length and one that isnât tight and high neck. Itâs feeling impossible. Itâs been months of looking online to find an affordable alternative to this 3 piece abaya.
I am a size xs. I would be so grateful if you could please help me out for my Nikkah and give me this most incredible gift.
I have been waiting so long to be married. I want to feel beautiful and covered for my Nikkah. It will be my first time meeting his friends and family. His family and friends are all Arab and I am a convert. I want to be the best wife and fit in with his circle, and I know they would all appreciate my effort if I wore an abaya like his mum wears everyday.
