Im so grateful for your recipe/video. I made this yesterday for Thanksgiving and it came out very yummy. Instead of adding powdered cinammon and Barcardi i switched to adding 1 1/2 ounces of Fireball cinammon whisky from a mini-bottle and once all cooked, i poured into a baking dish, placed marshmellows on top and let it bake for 15 minutes to toast. Mamma Mia!!! It was delicious. Officially you’re my go-to recipe forever. Thanks!
Your hair is still fabulous!! Another great video though! Great tips too - I made my own egg nog some time ago and the recipe called for nutmeg. I already had the powder version but the recipe called for fresh so I ran out and got some. You actually undersold how important grating it fresh truly is - in powder form it’s almost not even the same product!!
I gotta try this recipe. Looks really yummy. I can't wait. Doesn't have to be on a holiday. This year, we are having Thanksgiving dinner at Golden Corall. I guess that will be good enough. Have a wonderful holiday 💖
I do mine in the oven and add light brown sugar butter everything you use except lemon & rum but i do use one thing you didn't Honey i like mine sweet i do stir them once everything melts down in the oven . Yours looks good i may just try it 😊.
Excellently, I will trying this recipe today when im finished taking my nap after breakfast @ 12noon cuz I been in the kitchen from early this morning lol 😆!!
Girl, thank you so much! I was looking for a better candied yam recipe that used fresh yams. This one speaks more my language for candied yams than other recipes. I've been looking for something similar to what Grandma did, and I think it's the sauce being made on the stove top. That feels about right, although I know she did the actual baking of the yams in the oven because they always took forever. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Chef Camirra👩🏾🍳, Your Candied yams looks delicious😋 and the rum, ginger and nutmeg will intensify the burst of aromatic flavours 🍠🍠🍠🍠 well done. Happy thanks giving day🦃 to you and your family in advance , God bless you all have an amazing day. Amen 👸🏽👑😇🙏🏽💐💛💐🧡
Good Morning, Miss Camirra! This looks so good as do all of your videos. I hope you and your family have a great Thanksgiving. I am thankful for all the yummy videos you send all year, and I hope to keep seeing more. I hope you have a great day!!
I used a lot of these ingredients for my candied yams. I really love the fresh ginger and lemon ❤️ One thing about candied yams is that you can’t worry about if it’s healthy or not because, it’s the best part of the meal🤤🤤 Just enjoy it…. Thanksgiving is only once a year😊
My Aunt taught me how to make candied yams. She used all of the same ingredients except for the rum, but her process was more complicated. I want to try your way so bad, but I’m afraid if I mess up for thanksgiving I’ll never hear the end of it😂
You could make a mini portion so you know what to expect. That way if you decide to make it, you can doctor it up however you want. Or save it for Christmas.😊
no it will thicken. trust the process! just melt the butter and sugar on a medium low heat,, add the apices and then the yams! I just cook it with the cover off when i need to thicken it. as long as the sugar and butter dont overheat it will cool down to thicken.
@@CamirrasKitchen thank you so much for the recipe. I just finished my yams and they came out perfect. I made it exactly like you did, with fresh ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon, lemon and rum. It's soooo good can't wait to bring it to my Nanas house. You're right, the sauce thickened right up. No need for water
I love your candied yams and will like to try it but I will like to bake the recipe in the oven. What temperature in the oven did you put the sweet potatoes on? How long do you bake the candied sweet potatoes in the oven
I made this and my family loved it 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
awesome!!
One of my top 3 favorite holiday side dishes! Basically, a dessert labeled as a side dish. Delish!
I totally agree!

Yep you can make the same sauce and then bake them. I only do that when I already have other stuff baking cuz yah it takes a long time
They came out looking absolutely delicious! I might give them a try, but I have to leave out the alcohol. Like 461

Yeah girl don’t experiment on thanksgiving. 😂
Give it a try and see what happens
I guarantee you will be successful with making them
What about the cream of coconut?!
You could make a mini portion so you know what to expect. That way if you decide to make it, you can doctor it up however you want. Or save it for Christmas.😊
Wow these look really good! I wanna have some!
I'm making this tomorrow for thanksgiving. I hope it turns out right. It seems like getting the sweet glaze to thicken is the hardest part.

My cousin messed up the yams today💀 I’m going to make your sauce, let it cook on low and thicken and pour it on top of them😊
Did it work?
Hello niece ❤❤
hey Aunt Joy!
@@CamirrasKitchen whooohooo🥰See you later today?
Good recipe, but I would cook the sauce longer for a thicker glaze
Good idea and I love your shirt! Where’d you get it?
etsy! a shop called soulphoodie of somehting like that. if you type in the words it pops up
Get you some child labor for your kankles lol ded thanks ma 😂😂
Does it have an alcohol aftertaste?
nope it totally burns off
What happens if you can’t find lemon extract. I have looked everywhere. No grocery store has it. Is there a substitute that can be used.
just a touch of fresh lemon, or use a little but of orange juice. like 2 tbsp. or you can leave it out and it will still be good
I made a sweet potato pie with some of the heaviest organic yams you ever tasted!🙂
im telling you heavy yams tend to be REALLY good! my dad got me sone yams last yr that were like 1 lb EACH. some of the best yams
thank you 🤰🏾🫄
Camirra 😍😌😝🤌🏾
As a man, I noticed she doesn’t have a wedding band on. Please give me a chance.
