Sorry about the glitchy cannons. I haven't gotten around to updating CBC and Flywheel yet while filming. It happens when I pick up items (i.e. bullet casings) around cannons for some reason.
I had a bit of trouble finding a rangefinder mod for MC 1.18.2 (Forge) so I used something different this time.
I use GatKong's Sextant to find how far a target is. It's pretty accurate but it somehow only works for terrain. For flying ships and entities I use Choc_Chip_Cake's spyglass texturepack. It's a bit analog but it get's the job done as you saw in the video.

I left the mod list in the description. I used thruster blocks from Valkyrien Skies 2-Tournament and control them using Computercraft

They need radar and range goggles from Some-Peripherals but its only for 1.18.2 right now. Tho you should still be able to use the lua library in 1.20 to get one to hover in place...

ikr, this version was a head ache. It was a pain to reassemble all of the barrels when I had to turn them into VS-Ships. The hoppers slowed down the fire-rate and you had to manually set the targeting range
