Very nice. She was a lovely person, amazing performer and actress and the world is a better place because she was in it. She left her mark here. Ovarian cancer is awful...it took my sister and took Jessica Tandy. Kathy Bates survived her ordeal with the disease...I hope for a cure. Had Jessica Tandy not been affected, she'd have made dozens more wonderful movies because I know she's have lived another 20 years! What a woman!
I first saw Jessica in The Birds...her acting was so believable..she truly looked terrified. I loved her in Fried Green Tomatoes and Driving Miss Daisy...She was a gift.
Jessica Tandy is an immaculate woman! I've only been able to watched some of her movies like "Driving Miss Daisy" and "Fried Green Tomatoes" which is one of my favorites... Great tribute!!!
...This retrospective slide show leaves a lump in my throat. Jessica Tandy was one of a kind. I simply do not have the words. There is Jessica Tandy, and then there is all the rest of the incredible, incomparable, totally fascinating actresses who have lit up the big screen.
Thank you. I remember the first film I saw with Jessica Tandy was Disney's "The Light In the Forest" followed by "The Birds". Years later I was fortunate to see her on stage in a number of productions, most notably "The Gin Game" and "Foxfire" with Hume Cronyn.
Thank you for posting this!!! I couldn't stop crying until the upbeat portion of the score started, which l always loved that score. Thank you for posting this!!! I will never forget Jessica Tandy. I watch her Oscar win clip often. Thank you!!!
Uma grande atriz, pra quem a idade foi uma benção. Se tornou uma excelente protagonista em uma idade em que a maioria das estrelas estão se apagando. Linda e talentosa Jéssica Tnady ❤
...I was on location during the filming of Driving Miss Daisy....she was standing 15 ft away from me , alone , smiling ....I SO regret not walking over to her and speaking ....she was beautiful
Im sure she wouldve been very approachable to say hello to and tell her how much you admired her work. I live in Fairfield County CT and have met one or two notables over my 25 years living here
When I see her on reruns of miss daisy...I cry thru most of the movie..I was raised by someone who was just like her..i wouldn't change it for the world..she was special.
I forgot how beautiful Jessica was in her younger days. Love Foxfire with J. Denver ( my favorite singer of all times). He did a great job of acting with two pros. Thank you for all the great movies and the music , miss all of you..
A great British actress who sadly had to wait until late in her life to get the roles her obvious talents deserved Fried green tomatoes at the Whistle Stop cafe and Driving Miss Daisy are two of my favourite films of all-time and Jessica is superb in both
To my knowledge, I ONLY saw Jessica Tandy in Driving Miss Daisy. If I saw her in other movies, I did not know who she was. YET, watching her in DMD, I could see her lovely soul through her eyes, smile and postural timing. Acting? Sure she was playing a role, but what she did was HER in the situations the story required. She was and will remain in my mind as an extraordinarily wonderful woman, from achingly lovely youth to aching beauty shining through the vagaries old age!
Este merece ser aplaudida de pé pelos seus admiradores e amigos talento ela tem de sobra uma das melhores atrizes que conheci ao longo dos filmes dela que já assisti uma Baluarte do cinema parabéns Jéssica por estar talento ???
If she would have remained in London, she would have been Dame Jessica Tandy. But thankfully for the American Theater, she came to us, and we the fans of the theater was made better for it!!
Yeah. It was the same thing with Ruth Gordon, who's video tribute I also just viewed recently. I only knew her as a really old dame from flicks like Harold and Maud, Rosemary's Baby, Every Which Way but Loose and Where's Papa, . .. didn't know she had a career and repertoire going back to the late 1920's. I think the first movie I saw with Ms. Tandy here was The Birds ?
It's weird to look at a young picture of someone's who you only knew of in their older years. We try to trap time in a bottle but it's just not possible. And as much as you may appreciate the here and now, tomorrow that here and now is gone, and so it is the next day. Then, you aren't the young looking kid anymore. You begin having aches and pains, and the story goes.

Saw her first in a woman's vengeance. Very expressive face with beautiful eyes.

Very nice video! :)
This should be the theme song for the Oscars
Scarlett Johansson resembles a young Jessica Tandy. Now I know what Scarlett will look like in her golden years.

Why do Brit actresses play Southern women so well?
