Turning a TALKING Thomas Wooden Railway Set into a TALKING THOMAS TOMY SET!

- We've got another Thomas Wooden Railway set up on the block today! This time it's a Talking Railway Series set! While I may not have the Talk 'n' Action Tomy Engines to match, I was still able to come up with two ideas for how Tomy could have handled a release like this!

This would've been such a cool set
Alternative, use idea 2, but add 8 pieces of talking half-length straight track and 1 full piece of normal track (or perhaps another 2 pieces of talking track) so the engines start speaking each time they enter and leave the platform. Plus, that would let you stop slightly longer trains at the platform. Right now there is only room for a tank engine or diesel with a single coach... or a tender engine with no coaches... to stop at the platform, which is less than optimal in an era where each engine you buy going forward comes with two pieces of rolling stock (or one piece of rolling stock and a tender).
This way, the new set owner won't need to find more pieces of track to stop the Gordon train pack they got for Christmas at the station platform without fouling the switches, and if they want to run trains that are one unit longer (Say, James pulling Annie and Clarabel in proxy of the orange Old Coaches from the story about the bootlace), they can move the half-straights from one side of the platform to the other and just run all the longer trains the same direction (And perhaps suffer talking James cutting himself off in mid-sentence).
Using 10 pieces of half track instead of 8 pieces of half track and a whole piece would also mean the engines are talking out in the countryside, filling in the empty side of the loop with sound instead of trees, destinations, or irregularities in the track layout (And perhaps the engines are talking to the signalman on duty in the one distraction currently placed along that otherwise bland section of track).

I once built a Tomy version of the rare wooden Percy takes the plunge set. That might be a thought! Then again, I’m not sure what the House, danger sign, STH figure would be replaced by. The Sodor tugboat could probably be replaced by bulstrode.

here is a play set suggestion.
name: gordon and the mechanic/engineer and it’s based of the episode of the same name.
it comes with gordon donald douglas two express coaches three stations one signal box figurines of the station master mechanic/engineer and carpenter.
IDK what the layout would look like.

Your videos made me think of my own custom TOMY set based off the Episode “Old Iron.”
The set is a dual track loop with the 1 section of the TOMY Knapford station included. Knapford could represent the 3 stations in the episode(Wellsworth, Knapford, and Crosby). On the other side of the loop is a small section representing Knapford Yards. The yards would have a siding on both lines with a stop track in both for the engine to stop in. as well as a dual switch track connecting the 2 lines. The set would include Edward and James as well as a red and green express coach respectively to recreate the opening scene at Wellsworth. There’s also some signals and a signal box to recreate the “All traffic haunted!” scene, as well as a couple trees to fill the empty space. What do you think?

@@MTI_thomas on an unrelated tone. You know how there are express carriages for these plarail/Tomy set yea? I am quite sad how there’s just no brake coach variant at all. As I am a huge fan of the express coaching stock and I am mad that there isn’t a brake coach variant of the express coaches.

You know even though I know that your being more accurate to the set
I still would have tried to add some more accessories (and specially) rolling stock to the deal just to make it more fun
Alongside with an extension pack that maybe could give us even more rolling stock and enough tracks to make 3 sidings with buffers

How about for your next set the lift and load set I mean in my opinion it's kind of one of the best and having the engines moving around would really improve it I'm not sure what you will do but the set is really fun

I don't have any plans to get them right now, but we'll see what happens. I might do an update video if I do get them at some point

I thought knapford had 6 platforms instead of 4 but great video 😊
it does in the show, but the standard Tomy release only features four. Granted, you can connect 6 of the halves together for the ultimate Knapford, but that's expensive lol
