i dont even know if this can really be considered a clone besides the fact that it has the main features of minecraft but the story itself and the quest and the different biomes makes the game different from minecraft itself
This was the only Minecraft clone that got my attention as a kid, the rest just seemed too generic at the time, but this one was so unique with the fantasy and rpg settings. I've never actually beat the game because the grind can become annoying at some point, I feel like some enemies are way too strong in an unbalanced way

I've always wanted to see more coverage of the game, but majority of the videos I see of it are in a different language or low quality videos with no commentary. It was nice going back down the memory lane of this game. A few small corrections and some answers to the things you were saying. The latest version is 13.2.1.2. The wiki has some things out of date. After the big space update, 13.0.6 came around and added in additional customization, loot in chests, 2 new dragon models, a new gamemode, and some other small QoL things. Then the last major update was 13.1. This added in Electricity which is basically this game's version of Redstone, along with note blocks. Why weren't these updates called version 14 and 15? I'm not sure. It just makes things a bit more confusing. Since then there were a few small patches with the most recent one being last February. This game has such a long history, it would be hard to put it all into a single video. About the models. A good portion of them can be found on asset stores. Some of the newer models, like the train and airplane, were modeled by the devs though. The game was put together by 2 devs that were actually just getting their feet into game dev. Unfortunately it seems like both of them have moved on from Block Story. The guy that had the idea for Block Story left a few years ago. He was also the guy that handled the IOS updates. Unfortunately the paid version is gone but the Free version is still up, just without the Space update. The paid and free versions were recently taken off of Google Play because it was running on a very old version of Android and the 2nd dev who was supporting that version stated he doesn't have the motivation or time to work on bringing it back. Instead he just gives people the apk file to download the newest free version if people still want it. You can find it on the Block Story VK page (this is like Russian Facebook) or the Block Story Discord. But yeah, I never would have expected this game to get more coverage because it feels like it has been abandoned. You did a great job with this one. Keep up the great work!

Theirs a lot of games out their that still have followings but don't have coverage, so I like to make essays on them for people so they can have at least some insights that were just not available beforehand, even if I am amateur. Besides all that I watched a lot of your content while doing research on Block Story and you make some really great and helpful videos too!
The game will be returned to Google Play no earlier than in the fall. And we have big plans for new updates to the game, we will start work after we return the game to the game stores
Holy shit dude I forgot about this game. As a kid, I had a nook color, which is a kind of cheap tablet designed for reading, and its app store didnt have minecraft. However, it had this. Glad I'm not the only person who's experienced this game
Yoooo I still have and play Block Story on my mobile phone- I'm actually trying out Survival for a change because I've been playing Story for, almost 10 years (man those beds are nostalgic, remember when you'd teleport via a staff and beds?). I'm not really a fan of the simplistic textures it now apparently has, but I'm sure it'd grow on me. The music is fire🔥
Dang, I remember this game so fondly. Sucks to see it seems to have disappeared from the Google Play Store, both the free and the premium versions. The App Store you linked to also seems to be an older version, strangely enough.
Yea I noticed that too, it's no longer available on Google Play store which is quite depressing, though I was lucky enough to get the premium version of the game on my galaxy tablet before it was removed, so that was really lucky
I played it a long time ago. I like game overall, you know, magic, fly, rpg. I still remember my feelings first time i dropped into nether... But man, it's pain to play it. Imagine you need alot of stone, and you mine it... and your ears are bleeding cuz of the sound KACHUNG every mined block. Sound design is kinda 2000's year. It's like you hear minecraft's anvil drop sould every time you break any block. Kinda irritating. Graphics also. Why minecraft's tree leaves looks much better than this? Hitboxes are cringe. It's impossible to know if you will deal/take a hit, or not. I ofter was in situation, where 1) you cannot reach enemy and it could reach me, 2) i just abused AI, and kill it through 1 block hole. And if you just started playing, and near you spawned a dinosaur 30lv, you ded. But overall, if block story would have a huge balance/audio/visual rework, it could even smash minecraft (ofc not, but it would be cool game at least)
I used to play a game called Eden on my original Ipod, basically a minecraft clone as well, but there were special blocks like trampolines and speed blocks and you could paint any block any colour.
I still play it its great just sucks cuz i don't think they update it if i have lots of money id give so much to make thid game have other stuff and maybe make it more better which is already 🎉

if you want beautiful graphics, then you can use a texture pack with HD x256 quality (now the texture quality in the game is x64).
