Completely gone but I was too lazy and put it on a bottom shelf and forgot about it. Few months later, it has a keiki poking out from underneath with two leaves. It must’ve had some part left , underneath the bark but it looked just like the first one on top. I am hoping it has enough left to grow a root of its own now.

I have just 2 orchids. I knew not to water from above. However, I still (I think) just killed my 1 mini phal orchid by it getting watered from above. Not purposely, but I completely spaced off the fact that it was directly below my Spanish moss and other airplants that I regularly mist. I guess the water was dripping from the moss down into my orchid and now its floppy, yellowing bottom leaf and some darkening in the crown and out to the leaves. So sad, as I worked so hard to keep my plants alive and was doing so well for so long. I revived it once already as it had root rot when I first purchased it. I re potted it after cutting bad roots and it put on so much new growth. Now this is happening. Ugh.

I have a collection or orchids which are doing fine as im getting more knowledgeable. My first orchid I killed fairy quickly, it was a gift from my partner. Once it had died I didnt throw it straight away, it was hidden away in the conservatory. When I finally decided to throw away my unwatered orchid( which looked just like your first orchid you have spoken about), I noticed It has started growing leaves through the dry stem. I watered it and now I have two places the leaves are starting to grow. Its taking months to really see progress. I am misting and watering when I feel its right. What else can I do for it? It just shows you, you should give give up on a dead plant :)

I have a friend that has an orchid that has a terrible brown core and crown. However it has a big flower spike that's green and some good roots. Is there a way to encourage a Keiki?
