  • Alstrom Point is one of my favorite spots to camp in the Southwest. Perched above Lake Powell, it offers epic views, with amazing sunrises and sunsets. The drive on its own is beautiful, ~25 miles down a dirt road, with a few difficult spots that require a high clearance vehicle or experience navigating rock.
I've done the drive twice now in my VW Atlas. On this trip, I got a flat tire on my return trip while crossing a ~150 meter stretch that was all rock. Thankfully I was able to finish on my spare donut, and get assistance at the Big O Tires in Page. This video has the dirt road in, but once it got to the more technical portions, I was totally focused on driving and forgot to film, since I went solo without a spotter. Guess I'll just have to go back!
The drive is about 90 minutes from Page, Arizona. There's no water or shade at the point, so be sure to come prepared (including tire repair gear)!
