    Spaniards and Portuguese didn't immigrate to the U.S. at the same rate as Greeks and Italians, especially Italians.

      They didn’t need to migrate to the states when all they needed to do was go the former colonies of the empire. Didn’t need to learn English and the US was pretty anti-catholic at the time

      You're right. It was much larger. Keep in mind that Spain controlled much of the US for centuries, to include the majority of central and South America.
