Full coverage of the semi- final in the men's 800m event as David Rudisha (KEN), Mohammed Aman (ETH) & Abubaker Kaki (SUD) all claim victory to advance to the events final at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Since 1896, athletics has been on the programme of each edition of the Games of the Olympiad. Its presence on the Games programme has allowed its popularity to increase across the world. This popularity was also strengthened by the creation of the IAAF in 1912. Women's events appeared for the first time at the 1928 Olympic Games in Amsterdam, while the men's programme was standardised as of the 1932 Games in Los Angeles. Although at the beginning women were authorised to participate in only some events, today their programme is almost identical to that of the men.

5:48 "I haven't even reached my final form"
@15:33 It's just so funny seeing Aman and Kitum overtaking the rest, they rush to the front as if they had realized that "Hey wait a minute were in the wrong place, lets go for the front row seats'

Kenya. The Pinnacle of Long-Distance Running.
Shone.
Nick Symmonds was watching from the sidelines during Heat 3 to see if he would auto-qualify for the finals.
Rudisha is such an elegant runner.
Dang Rudisha runs a 1:44 and just walks off like it’s nothing.
If he set a WR (below 1.41) after running 1.44 and 1.45 in semis and heats, it WAS nothing
That's a Kenyan bro... Our way of living
Africans can do it too, proud of you bro
im african to i love him
Rudisha does it and seems that he has done nothing. Congrats my country mate

All 8 qualified within 1/2 a second of each other.
Rudisha is doing like it is another early morning jog. He seems less bothered, the Champ attitude. !

That was an absolutely terrific race from young Kaki! I’m absolutely in awe of his abilities and his boldness against such an elite field. Exceedingly impressive run.

Yea man, 800m, 400m and 400m hurdles are the toughest races in God's creation. Anyone free to dispute.
John ARTWELL True
John ARTWELL 3k Streeplechase isn’t a joke either though
RyanPlaysGames yeah steeple is harder and 400 is definitely not as hard as a 10k
Marathon.

Hours a day of training
poor Yuri Borzakovskiy
You should have included the world champion Qarni Said Jubeir from Algeria, who performed races at the top, concluded his career with honorable medals, and etched his name in the memory of athletics.

Kaki means military uniform in Arabic Sudanese dialect
Right. In Swahili it is a fabric too, I think
It means fabric too in amharic
Does anyone know why they barely used lane 1?
I remember from my racing days that the turn is sharper in lane 1, which is a bit harder on the ankles as you have to lean a lot more to stay a solid line, some tracks also have a curb around the inside of the track that can also trip up an athlete, not here so much. So, if they can they'll leave that lane open because it's the least favorite one for the athletes. Similar in the pool where they'll leave almost a full lane open on each side because the waves can be a bit more brutal on the outsides that levies an unfair advantage to whichever athlete would be so unlucky to get stuck there.
there were in lane 1 for almost the entire race..

Don't like Kaki never have. Acting as though he ain't tired after it. Like you ain't fooling anyone. You ain't as fit as you're making out. I'm glad he got smashed in the final. Take a note from your competitors and act a bit more humble.
Rudisha, on the other hand... Well, he looked like he was out for a morning jog
@@vamsigollapalli1333 I didn't notice that about Kaki, but Rudisha wasn't trying too hard. He looked genuine. There's a thin line between arrogance and confidence though, it's not wrong for Kaki to act confident
