The reason why things were not carrying out with every change is because every time he changed something big it was only that action that carried over and everything else resets and went back to the main original timeline, so his whole ability was to make one change at a time unless it was too small to not make a big change.

I didn't want to have to edit my comment. But if someone didn't explain:
The reason Prostitute Kayleigh still knew about the sex in front of a camera was because it still happened beforehand.
This had happened within the first few days of Evan actually having the blackouts.
And it was her dad's NEW camera.....which means he had an old one.
And considering he was making the movies with both gender roles being filled by kids. Who do you think he was starring in those films before Evan appeared, and the guy only had a son and daughter??? Added with Tommy's weird obsession with Kaleigh in the abusive timelines.
Evan even mentions that it's an ongoing thing when he that's the Dad with the firework.
Kaleigh just repressed everything before Evan, as that's when her childhood actually got better. If for even only a moment.

There's a darker cut of the film available, at least in the UK.
There's an additional subplot about his mum kept having miscarriages before he was born, he has his fortune read and the psychic says that he has no fortune and isn't supposed to be alive, and the film ends with him going back to when he was in the womb, and strangling himself with the umbilical cord, so he's never born and his mum has another miscarriage.

"This kid is NOT scary. I'd just hit him with one of these." *Puts out arm*
Yea, that's what most people think with small adorable psychopaths. Even happened at my school, when a kid (that everyone thought was a wannabe gangster cause of how small and cute he was. About 5' in 10th grade) attacked the QB (who was 6'2.)
The QB did just that, and started laughing. People started gathering and laughing too.......until the QB's laughs immediately turned to anguished screams.
Turns out that while the small guy was 'flailing' he had slipped out a knife, and slashed the QB's wrist. Then, right before he was pulled off, managed to stab the QB in the abdomen twice.
It's all fun and games, until you realize that you already have an injury.

@@that.ll_do_pig I kind of hate that they have all these alt ends. I bought the dvd shortly after it came out and watched it a number of times since then, but just always watched the directors cut and really liked it. Now hardly any reactors do this movie and when they do, more often than not they don't do the director's cut. I think only Timothee has. Back in 80's-90's I used to normally prefer the DC if available, but they tended to just add a few cut scenes. Now they'll change the music, add stuff that completely changes the movie, as well as change the end. It's a mess if you are hoping someone watches the 'right' one, since there's really only one first time full new unknowing experience for a movie and it can greatly affect how you feel about future viewings.

  • @feartheolivebread
    @feartheolivebread Před rokem +1

I love this movie, but they definetly didn't think the time lines through very well.
The big one for me is the stigmata scene. The dude said the marks just appeared, but they should have always been there, since he did that as a kid, in that new timeline.
So the change only affected him, as his cellmate still remembers the previous timeline, when the marks weren't there.

    2nd comment.
Apparently a lot of people didn't like it, but I prefer the Original Ending.
In it, the home video that Evan watches is the one of him being born. Moments BEFORE being born.
So he goes back, and chokes himself to death to stop from impacting ANYONE'S lifes.
It ties back into the Fortuneteller talking about him missing a Lifeline, and having no soul. But also about how his mom had had a couple misbirths before him. Impling that THOSE babies had the same exact issues, and came to the same exact conclusion that Evan did: Kill themselves before they're even born.
And along with everyone else living normal happy lives, we first see that Evan's dad gets over trying to change the timelines. And him and Evan's mom end up living happily with a newborn daughter.
