You don't have to finish the Rangers questline, this is available as soon as the mission board opens up (IE, before you even officially join). Spamming hostage quests is a great way to get affinity, just release the hostage before you talk to them. Hostage, single ship kill mission, repeat - it only takes 4 missions to open up One Riot One Ranger, not six, so doing it twice will pop one.
Happy to see we are ranger brothers. One thing that definitely needs to happen is vendor credit scaling as you go up in levels. While i dont mind supplying every planet with enough firepower to reignite the colony war id also like to sell the space suits with out having to do the wait skip.
You probably know this, but just incase you don't, I'm going to mention it. On your ship dogfighting gameplay, your turns look really slow because you are going max speed. If you slow down to where your ships speed is in the white section, you'll be able to turn much faster enabling you to get behind enemies quicker after you fly past them.
Very true and a must to get behind people quickly! I watch sooooo many videos of people NOT doing this
True, you can also use the thrusters as well to turn even faster aswell. It was literally a game changer finding out my ship had thrusters and combining these methods. When you're using them it pulls up a little yellow directional crosshair.
I always fly mid range, only using boost to chase.
On the flip side, I fly a gigantic cargo vessel and regularly slay... well, everything. Couldn't match a planet in a turn fight. How do I win?
PBO-300 particle beam automatic turrets, four of them. Doesn't matter if you can't turn, when your guns can.
But yes, in all other circumstances when gunfighting, "hitting the brakes" will put you inside the opponents turn almost every time.
And don't forget to throttle down and cancel the boost when evading missiles, the lock's broken so there's no reason to waste the boost level.
@@mfree80286 seeing your comment here makes me want to load up starfield again, haven’t played it for a month. Been getting distracted with work and other stuff and until this weeks holiday break, just haven’t had the time to sit down and play for an hour or longer. Also, I thought the planet metaphor was pretty funny.

I did this on my first playthrough before finishing the ranger questline. The loot is fantastic. much better (more fun) than spam waiting at outposts grinding crafting.
Thanks for this vid. I'll have to remember to do this. My character is only low 20s atm so this will probably be pretty difficult for me to do. I think it would be nice if Bethesda would make it so the more you sell at vendors the more credits they'll have to buy your stuff. Sorta like leveling up your vendors. Maybe make it 3-4 tiers with each tier adding like 20k(ish) to their overall pool of credits. Doubt it'll happen since Bethesda wants to pad out the gameplay as long as possible but I can dream.
I actually discovered this the other day! Last night I fought an Ecliptic captain that was level 96. I have the wellness perk maxed and he still melted my health

I found out about this a week ago, when I was spamming every board I could find after ship-building bankrupted me. I'd actually forgotten about the ranger board entirely until I went into the Rock looking for a skill mag and decided to spam all the missions.
Can't wait to enjoy all the added content I'm finding when the grind to NG10 is done. Or whenever the skills are maxed.

Hostage missions give a huge relationship boost as well, so pop some chems just before you free them and get some easy companion love.

Wish I could TV - but my Freestar quest has bugged out at the Follow Emma Wilcox mission after the first bounty/probation completion.
Emma is "busy" when standing in the Marshall's office.
Tried a few ways to get it to complete but no luck as yet. Trying to get "The Great Laredo" mission to pop as that has some reported success.
So, currently no Star Eagle and none of these bounties to do.

I’m lvl 26…. Made bad skill point choices. Lock pick, weapons, persuasion, stealth, pickpocket, ship operation 🤣 all maxed rn. I loot everything because I didn’t know how in-depth the game was for building a money empire. Guess I’m gunna try to take this on if there are no ship battles 😂
Outpost mining into crafting has given me my last 10 levels and 100k credits, lol. I'm back questing again to unlock all the qualifying kills or persuades or shield damage… etc. Lol. Aaaaannnnddd now we farm! Lol.
Ay minmaxxing is for nerds. I'm leaning I to a Han Solo type, so I've maxed out my pistol skill and stealth as my only physical/combat skill. I've got a bunch of points in the piloting and ship mods and weapon mods slots. Also threw a bunch in there for deception and persuasion. I'm a force to be reckoned with in ship combat and a smooth talker and can talk my way out of most fights, but you can't talk your way out of everything and in combat I'm HOSED
i got a really good legendary old world shotgun from the first time i did this repeatable quest.
Makes me wonder if the bounty board has these also or if the other factions have cool late game stuff.
Sadly, no. Only the Ranger board does this so far (I haven't done much with UCSYSDEF yet so I can't say for them). Which is annoying since I can't build one in my outpost.
As I role play as freestar native I'm at 90hours gameplay and just doing bit side quest etc and most of the time stick around akila only so far 😂, and yeah I'm pretty suprise when I first time notice someone mentioned my name on ranger mission board
I'm taking my time slowly chewing this game and I usually avoid spend too much time on other city and return to akila asap as I want to play major city one by one ❤
I can’t thank you enough for the tip! I’m 4 days in and trying to avoid the main story as much as possible. Rangers in the only Faction line I’ve completed and Ive walk pass that terminal thinking it’s a normal one lol

That's what I do in games that I want to keep playing. I'm in no rush to end it. lol
Just sit and wait 48h aprox for vendor to reset his money. Best vendor's with most cash on them are trade authority. They usually have up to 11k in their store every 48h. And on some planets 24h localy can take up to 50h depending on the planet you are on.
Any crafting tips? Recommended weapons?
The amount you get might be level based as well. Was doing these at level 26 and got 9k credits.
Does the SysDef board have a similar bounty?
It's a pain but I go to Titan to offload items. I sleep 3 hours on ship for the Trade Authority to reset to 5000. You can watch a show and mindlessly sell, sleep, sell.
Hey, TV, are you having trouble with the game stuttering when you swap weapons? Especially weapons with modifiers? I've been avoiding using legendaries, epics, etc for that reason, but looks like you don't.
The other faction members comment when you have completed several missions with their faction.. do other factions offer secret missions like this, or only freestar?

This quest bugged out for me i completed it but It still shows all check marks on the mission tab along with it being on the completed tab it’s very weird
People been saying, grinding terminal “Kill” missions is the way to get legendary loot drops. Nice to know there will be such high level ones available as we grind away past the main & factional quest series. Gg bro.
Btw, if you save before touching the boss corpse, you can reload until that loot has a gold/legendary item. & reload until that gold drop has the kind of bonus mods you like… #farming
Is not before You "touching" boss, U must save before kill "minimum bar amount" and then after every kill is different loot... When boss is killed reloading save do shit... Nothing changes.

I actually discovered these too. I was hoping that it was a way to get the freestar dustwear like marshall blake wears and Torres wears in the missions "groundpounder". anybody else find a way to get it?
I was hoping the same, kinda how you get the master thief set in skyrim from doing all the misc thief guild quests. If I get it through this I'll let you know. It'd be absolutely criminal if they left that dustwear out the game.

Can you upgrade weapons or nah? Like my Legendary gun i got from pirate faction quest is too low level now
Keep grinding these missions, any with “Kill” as the 1st word. Save f5 just before killing the boss. Proceed, then check the loot. If it's a Legendary, And you love the mods on it, keep & go to next mish. If not good, reload f9, finish him & loot & etc. Cycle thus thru many & all boss kills until you & all companions are outfitted with all legendary gear that works with your/their skill sets.
Embrace the grind.
Vae Victis also gives u bounties at the end of the UC quest line (if u don't turn him in). I wonder if the more bounties u do for him, the more the rewards & XP increases?

Just picked up my first "one riot one ranger". Mission, but it is in a lvl 60 system, I am lvl 40. Maybe an unknown factor on what bounties get offered to change this.
im a level 22 with level 40 gear can kill level 50 enemy’s grinding on higher level star systems is the way to go then go back to doing the regular level where your at 💃im moonwalking on the game
its not a secret mission though, i got it the first time i checked the mission board after completing the freestar questline. well, the only time i checked the mission board before that was i think part of the freestar questline itself.
I find it astounding that without google I would wander around wondering where all the work is, why does it have to be such a mystery to find quality work ?.
The only thing is it’s cool to have high value pieces in these games but like I can’t sell them to anyone to make anywhere near that worth.

How many NG+ resets have you done so far?
If he's grinding out story/sandbox stuff pro not many. I'm around ng10 and fastest I can do is 3 hours each. That adds up. To do a faction quest is around 10h playing pro 4 or 5h if u just blaze it. So he most likely is not doing alot of resets

@@jcolebusi I'm in ng12 now cause super nova bugged out one 2 times it seems so doing a few extra runs to get it to x rank. I think I can do the story so fast because of my levels and gun mods. I'll buy an advanced beowolf gun, alot of times steal now from first shop in well. The buy 7.77caseless from every vendor. 1500 rounds or more is enough. I go to the vendor in the spaceport between the bar and coffeeshop and buy all resources. Go to commercial and buy all resources from uc distribution. Go back to lodge upgrade my beowolf to a commanders. Silencer, armor pen, high powered, recon lazor, short scope, long barrel, tactical grip. If u want steal an advanced negotiator from well shop then buy ammo from residential vendor, Caspian? Arms. She has most odd ammos. Mod it with most expensive mods basically and give to any npc with the 40mm ammo and dump off any leftovers into safe in lodge. U can now run story fast as u can run without needing to loot anything. Three big skills to aid in this are bottom physical tree. Rejuvenation. Seems to be percent based. So then grab t1 physical skill wellness? It ads like 60% hp. I'm over 3k health and I rarely notice damage. Last skill that makes this super simple is assault pack. It's the bottom middle skill in the ship tree farthest right. Lvl 4 slows time by 70%? When u hover... its op as hell.

Are the missions hidden if they are located at a clearly marked "mission board"? I found a hidden addition to my cereal today! I opened my fridge, and right there in the front was milk. Check your fridge, stuff may be in there!

Kind of lie the Vanguard line you only have to START the questline to access these missions ....................... You will make more selling loot. Starfield NEEDS A "Mobile Merchant Mule" running on loop to the players ship every so often.
I said no to the UC Vanguard, it seems clinical and boring. I said yes to the space cowboy rangers.
You should do those quest lines if you haven't.
