If our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. 2 Corinthians 4:3-4 KJV
Daryl M Luke 15: god is said to go out of his or her way to find the lost sheep or the lost coin. God has done no such searching of me. If he exists, he acts very much like something that does not.
This was really good. I love the comparison to being married. Its making me understand where I am in my walk with God. But I will take it in little by little.
God isn’t hidden some people choose not to want to see Him. If someone reads the Bible it shows that God doesn’t appear to everyone. And He didn’t show up every time someone clicked their heels together. That is why we have Gods Word, so we can realize what God wants from us.
Good job. I have had a brief experience with God once for maybe 30 seconds and the magnitude was overwhelming. It would take far too long to explain. The power of the material world is very strong. I can guarantee that if God revealed himself as you mentioned it would take little time to start to question that experience. Within weeks and months most people would become convinced that it was some trick or illusion and would ask for proof again.
Exactly, even Thomas who saw the resurrected Christ still has doubts. Seeing doesn’t eliminate our doubts, but it probably condemns us further for them.
I would pay to see a two or three hour conversation between Matt and Sam Harris or some other atheist. I feel like these 20 minute monologues aren't the greatest, because the speaker never has his views challenged and then at that point its pretty much a sermon. And there's nothing to lose by talking to people who hold a different opinion than you, you know?
you have free will to choose to follow God. Hes not going to force you to believe in him. The ability to say yes is pointless without the ability to say no.
joe smobody I saw this before going to work and thought about replying then but thought no need my response should be obvious. Then I thought, he probably doesn't see it. My imaginary friend has as much a role in those things as your god.
Excellent Matt Walsh, excellent!! Three wonderful reasons. I've also thought the veil or divide was for our protection. God's glory was meant for us in the Garden of Eden or heaven awaiting. A full reveal could also shine light on the very sin we carry and the shame would be too much to bear, causing us to curse God. We would beg him to turn off that light, preferring darkness to his all consuming presence.
God is not a being, not an all-powerful being, or any such thing. God is being itself. God is not one more item that exists out there in the inventory of things that exist. God is existence, as such. God is not what got the ball rolling at some point in time long ago. God is the musician, who at every moment creates that music which is the observable universe- that if he stopped playing, the universe would cease to exist. The universe holds together, operating seamlessly as a cohesive and logical whole, as Logic is omnipresent. God is not materially visible because he is utterly transcendent: God is Beauty. God is Love. God is the pure Good. God is absolute Consciousness.
Very good points Matt. I would add: - God told Moses that he could not reveal himself fully to him. Moses had to hide under a rock as he passed over. God is so glorious and we are so sinful that we would melt or turn to dust if we were to look upon him. We can’t even look directly at the sun, what of the one that gave the sun it’s light? - The Lord has enemies, if he revealed himself not everyone will fall down and worship him. Some will gnash their teeth and curse at him. Only his children will be happy when he arrives because the others will know their time is up. There will be no repenting on judgement day. - the Lord ‘walked in the cool of the day’ with Adam and Eve. They were literally with him daily and even they didn’t trust in him. We are them. No different. - the Lord came as Christ as you said, most rejected him and they crucified him - all in the plan of the Lord of course. No amount of miracles will change our mind, not without the Holy Spirit. -those who are not regenerated by the Holy Spirit will not and cannot believe, as a dead man cannot be alive. The Bible explains all. Pick up your Bible people. God Bless
God isnt hidden The perfection around you. All of the natural creation and the order its in isnt created by man. Gravity is another example. And when man just lives in his order instead of fighting it his life is better. Man cannot understand perfection. Thats what athiests dont get. Man cannot be god and not understand it. They are not able to.
1:50 is why I stopped believing. I didn't want to spend the rest of my life on my knees begging a silent, invisible, inactive being to please be real. If you believe, cool, but imposing that level of frustration on myself, knowing I would never get a real answer, seemed like a waste of time and life.
And it isn't completely about The Great Absent One being 'hidden'. It's about its cruel lack of intervention while millions of people around the world disagree about the thing to the point of violence. The Great Absent One is either too callous to care, inept to recognize the problem, or too powerless to actually do anything about it. Which is it Matt? At the very least, if it were real, we should see The Great Absent One communicate with *all* of humanity in clear, obvious and in universally understood ways. Have you noticed that this NEVER happens? Hmm.
I literally have no idea what you're talking about. He just did an episode to discuss evil in the world and it very clearly stated how a good God and evil can exist in the same world and you're not really attempting to respond in any coherent way. What is woo woo
LOL!!! What kind of idiot 'god' would fail to act that way? Evil? (smh) Add in the bit about confusion directly related to The Great Absent Ones inability to make sense. I chuckle at how the faithful can talk themselves into making the most wacky excuses for something that does nothing, says nothing, and apparently refuses to intervene in any way.
What's wacky about it? Please explain. You're not really responding to any specific point; in fact you're ignoring the points he made about why God might not want to act this way.
When I was a Christian I would see the presence of God in anything from ants on the ground to the stars in the sky. I miss those days. But now I see all forms of religion as myth. I hope I'm wrong but it'll take a literal miracle to convince me otherwise.
It's the overall experiment that "God" cares about not the individual NPCs that make it up it's like playing a video game with cheats on. it's just not as fun and eventually you delete the save
Phillip cavemn haha maybe not a teenager but certainly an objective thinker an as far as being bored goes this game save has not been deleted yet so maybe there's hope?
+MixRightfight It's so unlikely, that he bible may as well not be taken literally by anyone. Treat it as a book of stories that have extreme similarities to life until impossible feats start to happen. Take the flood as a stand-in for any other sort of cataclysm. It could be a tsunami you need to be prepared for, sure. But it could also be a famine. A plague. A bad trade agreement set upon you by your crooked politicians.
God has appointed this time for you to believe, then the judgement. Don’t jump out of an aéroplane without a parachute. Or without even knowing what a parachute is. Look into the God of the Bible, the one true living God. He is patient and kind, ask him to reveal himself to you and he will like he has to millions of people. God Bless
I have wrestled with hat question for almost my entire life and I have come to think that he doesn't because he wants you to get to him by choice. Because if he shows himself, you would then be forced to follow his word. So, to me the answer is choice. And if that is the case, that really speaks volumes in regards to how God wants us to live. He wants us to be free. Free to live life how we chose, free to chose our path and he wants us to chose to follow him because we want to follow him, not because we have to. That is the only thing that makes sense to me. So, if that is the case, God's message is not only love, but liberty. And it would also explain the moral foundigns of the USA and it's true mission; to spread his message.
How is believing in the existence of God through the testimony of potentially mentally ill individuals different from believing that men can become women through the testimony of potentially mentally ill individuals?
God operates by faith . Faith comes by hearing his word . That is the clearest revelation of God's existence . God is his word . Just as each of us are known by our words .
Excellent. Only one adjustment I would make: replace "love" with "honesty," genuineness. Think of Adam and Eve. What *should* they have done in response to the Fall? With how things are, we are given the chance to have that response. No fig leaves. We run TO God. We say, "We blew it. Everything is ruined beyond repair. We did it. And we can't fix it." I would also say that, if we do the thought experiment of believing the gospel, hear it for what it is, assume it is true, then we do have that profound revelation of God, and profound is a terrible understatement: this is the best news possible. The gospel is the best news possible, if it is true, and God is more beautiful than any beauty we can conceive.
I hope that when you get your answers it brings you peace, Matt. There is a lot of clean up in this world to do. There is a fourth answer and that is at least one of the individuals associated as God through the intersection of the human and the divine, had a much more difficult time returning from attacks. It is difficult leaving the house in certain situations. And like witness protection sometimes it is necessary to remain hidden while an ongoing investigation continues, and people are apprehended, but your 3rd answer is also profoundly accurate. Alice Walker touches on some issues reflecting that many find the Holy Spirit as the missing mother in scripture, though sometimes daughter. At the end of the day, when many ppl give divergent yet equal reports that consensus of personal reference reveal truth. I will say also good job on bringing up some of the atrocities ppl commit in the modern world. (Current abortion rate, etc). Good work to you all!!' Wish you well, Matt, have enjoyed listening to you and Shapiro. - L, I hope your sadness lifts.
God gave us free will so that we could love Him, as love must be a choice. However, free will also allows us to reject Him, for selfish, sinful reasons. Since God loves us so much He doesn’t force Himself upon us. Those who seek Him He clearly reveals Himself to but through God’s hiddenness, those who reject Him are spared a more severe punishment in the judgement. As Pascal put it “There is enough light for those who only desire to see, and enough obscurity for those who have a contrary disposition."
God is "hidden" because He wants us to have faith in Him and trust in Him. The whole point of our creation is to have a choice whether or not to believe He is our one and only God. He doesn't show himself directly because He doesn't want to force anyone to believe in Him, because He wants His unending love for us to be reciprocated back by us trusting His existence and choosing to love Him.
It astounds me that religious people cannot put their selves in eachothers shoes. A Muslim believes in his/her Prophet just as much as you do and is just as convinced. So which one of you is right? note...you cannot use the Bible or Qu'ran as evidence. Everyone is a non believer of all God's that have ever existed except their own God. Do you like your odds on your religion being the correct one?.....Oh right that's where "Faith" comes into it right? Lol the mental gymnastics you have to do to believe this is astounding.
kaizoku ou ni ore wa naru this comment is out of place. All atheists gravitate towards arguments of does God exists, but can’t seem to engage in any other arguments regarding God
If two scientists disagree on something does that mean they are both wrong and science is a scam? Faith is just believing where the evidence points. I don't have doubts about what i believe because other people believe something else. The quran was written by a mass murdering pedophile who got people to submit by threatening to kill them. The Bible was written by 40 authors over thousands of years, most of whom never knew eachother and yet i has one unified message from cover to cover. The existence of israel is proof that the Bible tells the truth. Thats why muslims hate it so much. www.thebereancall.org/content/israel-and-prophetic-proof-part-i
joe smobody "Faith is just believing where the evidence points". So what about the evidence that God does not exist since dinosaurs are not mentioned anywhere in the Bible? What about the evidence that God doesn't exist being that God did not write the Bible himself but had puny humans do it for him? Oh that's right. You're stupid cult does not mention this because it would prove that you're full of shit
I tell myself “no! If jesus appeared to me right now! I would love him more! Not less!” But then I remembered peter said a similar thing! Jesus said “where I go, you cannot follow” Peter says “why? I’m ready! I wanna go!” Jesus says “Truly I say to you, before the cock crows you will deny me three times” Peter says “No! I will NEVER! I will die for you!” Alas, 🐓🐓🐓🐓 Jesus knows we are not ready. Nevertheless, he doesn’t leave us hanging, he sends the Holy Spirit to us, He gives us His word, His church! He knows I’m not worthy nor ready but He died for me and lived for me all the same! 😢
Matt, I know for a fact that if you had never heard of Christianity or even religion as a whole before you became a right wing culture warrior, you'd be saying literally the exact same things about religious people as you do about trans people.
Soooooo basically God doesn't show Himself to humans, and since there are COUNTLESS people who have lost their shiz trying, there's no use in asking Him to do it, or to look for Him, and if you're smart you'll save yourself the trouble. Got it.
God visited me in my bedroom in 1987. He mannifested himself to me in a very powerful and real way. I still went on to be a very disobedient cristian. Its taken me 45 years to understand he wants me to love him
I don't have to see and I believe and love Them, He is everywhere is true and I've had the greatest privilege to witness Jesus presence and love and then years later Gods presence and Love so subtle, filling, and satisfying which helped in the healing of my heart, me through quite hard and stressful times. I only have shared this ever once with my closest friend in this world and that was my Husband Michael. Thanks for sharing this video.God Bless Peace be Everyone
1) “Choosing” to disbelieve. a) Disbelief is the default position of critical thinking. This is not a choice any more than you choose to disbelieve in minotaurs. You should not believe in anything until it has been proven, unless you want to be a fool. A 2000 year old book chock full of incredibly blatant scientific fallacy does not count as “revealing himself”. We could go into detail about that, but for the sake of brevity, we’ll leave it there that any and all “miracles” are dumb luck. 2) The man of the past appreciating the surroundings. a) This is the god of gaps. This is praising ignorance, supposing that not understanding our surrounding scientifically somehow makes us wiser than we are now. Earthquakes, lightning, the sun.... these all were once God. And have no doubt, these are fascinating things, but we now understand how they work. Knowing how the magician conjures the card you drew from the deck doesn’t make the magic show any less entertaining, but then you know it simply isn’t really magic anymore. 3) Loving God because of the mystery He leaves us. a) Let me level with you. I want to believe in God. I used to be a theist. None of these arguments are exceptionally compelling, but this better than the others. However, I feel this is a romanticized, emotional view of the idea of God. The reason why a mystery is needed is because of obfuscation of detail and logic. This buys time to settle your own cognitive dissonance of the sheer and utter lack of tangible, logical support of belief in a God. Therefore if your perspective is correct and “mystery” is necessary for belief in God, the game is clearly skewed in favor of emotional personalities and stacked against logical, scientific thinkers. You might believe in God, and maybe you have a very strong emotional connection to the idea of His existence, but at the root of all of this, could you say that this is because of any reason outside of emotion? If you truly try to use only your mind - which you believe that God gave you - that God exists... could you still say that “someday... someday you’ll know God exists.”? If you’re being honest, the answer is clearly “no”. The assertion of “faith” is no more than “I don’t have evidence, but it feels good to believe.” And that’s all well and good, and that’s your right, but don’t masquerade it as a logical conclusion.
Simple . It takes faith to access god kingdom . Faith is operating in the unseen . Like Jesus told Thomas , he was faithless because he would not believe without seeing and feeling . That is why Jesus left so soon . He had to leave the physical so faith could work . God knows what he is doing .
Having just started my return to Christianity, I am still going back and forth and loving God one day- feeling completely stupid for believing the next. Maybe I wouldn’t have this much faith if I hadn’t already been in love with a man- who I still believe in as an amazing person, even though it was complicated and painful, and we didn’t work out. Plenty of things can go wrong in life to make us feel hopeless, pointless etc. but if we choose these times to believe in the good of God then that is when we will be most relieved.
I find your framing of the question to be a little disingenuous You frame it 'why does god remain hidden' when the proper question is 'why did god hide himself from modern man' Because the Bible, especially the old testament is full of instances where God not only reveals himself to everyone, but he makes darn sure everyone knows it was him that did this or that
Here's a question I like to ask do you think that there is a god, and religions across the globe have a connection or is there evidence that there isn't one? (Note: "if he exists why doesn't he show himself" is an Argument done to death. I want you to go into detail about why he or she doesn't exist.) I would love to hear from you.
To me it isn't clear why having clear evidence of God's existence would prevent anyone from loving him. Most people, for instance, love their family members and yet they've never had to question whether those people even exist in the first place. On top of that, it isn't obvious why God would consign those who don't believe in him to a place of extreme, eternal suffering after death. Why is this the consequence of not loving God? If it's supposed to be merely the absence of God that causes this pain, why does God send anyone away?
God doesn't send people to hell. Christians believe that we can willfully separate ourselves from God, and that's what separation from God is like. Hell. God doesn't send anybody there; its the consequence of our actions. God didn't send Satan down to be a jailer, Christians believe he's there by his own will, and wants to mar the beings God made in his own image. If you're going to attempt debate with Christianity please debate actual Christian teaching, not a misunderstanding of it.
I am a bit of a Torah scholar, and someone who has never doubted the existence of G-d. But my hypothesis is that He created something thahe really doesn't like alll that much. My book 'Tagebuch des Teufel' goes deeply in the exploration of this theory via fictionalized interactions. Is this Being omnipotent? Omniscient? Well, if He's neither of these things, the He and we are more explicable. Omnipotent? I doubt it. No Being of limiteless power is 'jealous' or desperate to smite and strike 'other gods'. Nor, if He created all, would he have created 'them'. I think he's a bored chess player, but yes, I do believe and I do love, because he has been very good to me.

(Revelation 19:11-16) _"Stand therefore, having your loins girt about _*_with truth,_*_ and having on _*_the breastplate of righteousness;_*_ {15} And your feet shod _*_with the preparation of the gospel of peace;_*_ {16} Above all, taking _*_the shield of faith,_*_ wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. {17} And take _*_the helmet of salvation,_*_ and _*_the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:"_* (Ephesians 6:14-17) *"Thy word is true from the beginning:* and *every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever."* (Psalms 119:160) _"In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and _*_this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS."_* (Jeremiah 23:6)
*"It is the spirit that quickeneth;* the flesh profiteth nothing: *the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.* {64} But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him. {65} And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father." Selah. {5} I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and _*_thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin._*_ Selah. {6} _*_For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found:_*_ surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him. {7} Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah."_ (Psalms 32:1-7) *"Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God:* because many false prophets are gone out into the world. {2} *Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:* {3} *And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God:* and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. {4} Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because *greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.* {5} They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. {6} We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. {7} Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. {8} He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. {9} In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. {10} Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. {11} Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. {12} No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. {13} Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit. {14} And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. {15} Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. {16} And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. {17} Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. {18} There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. {19} We love him, because he first loved us. {20} If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? {21} And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also." (1 John 4:1-21)
Surely human kindness, the occurence of night and day, space, time are all signs of his existence. To ask God, a supreme being to appear before us is the epitome of human hubris. God does not serve us, we serve him.
God is not hidden...at least not to me or many others I know. I have felt his presence. I speak with him and he with me. That's what Christianity is all about-- a relationship with the creator. He's not hiding he just doesn't go out of his way to shove himself down people's throats. Matt-- If God had not made his presence known to you in a very real way, something's wrong. Christianity isn't about blindly loving some hidden superpower. That's Judaism. Christianity is about having a relationship with God. That's why Christ brought us the Spirit--to serve as a conduit between us and the creator so that we may walk with him, talk with him, and feel his presence as Adam and Eve were able to before the fall. Instead of asking for a mere revelation, maybe you should ask Him to allow you to enter into the relationship with Him that he created you for in the first place.
I enjoy your segments I like how you incorporate the spiritual component to the issues we endure today. There is so much noise out there over politics, parties, corruption, rascism and on and on Yet everyone dismisses our lord and savior. If they knew him we wouldn't have all the issues we argue about. Thank you for your videos
People wouldn’t act true to themselves if they truly knew God existed. God shows himself in ways that can only be perceived as coincidences and perfect timing. For me... my father is very very religious, he analysed the bible and converted words into numbers and the main number was 149. I see 149 atleast 3 times a day, someone’s over and over. I’m not saying 149 means anything... but I am quantumly entangled with that number, and it appearing is Gods way (maybe) of saying I’m on the right track. I truly believe quantum mechanics is the key to all this.
I love that you’re not afraid to speak the truth about political issues. But I find it even more meaningful when you speak the truth concerning God and his divine presence within our fallen and sinful world! I commend you for that and will always keep you in my prayers. God bless you, sir!🙏
As an atheist I have to voice disagreement with a few things. First, you said you can choose to believe something. That's entirely false, you can PRETEND to believe something. But if you really believe something (or lack belief in something as I do in god), that's not a choice, you have to become CONVINCED that that is true. You are not in control of that, its an automatic process that occurs when you are exposed to evidence. For children, the only evidence required to accept that god exists is that their parents believe it and this kind of gullibility is extremely important for evolutionary reasons to keep the child safe from dangers on their parents' word alone. With enough reinforcement, most don't even question what their parents told them when they were younger.
Parents are God to their children, do not the children rebel, even with you there. As said : it is selective enlightenment through the ages. Using Free Will allows us to choose what to believe.
A person who will disbelieve the report of a miracle would disbelieve the miracle right in front of your face. God gives us enough to believe, but not so much that we have no choice. His grace is sufficient for us, just the right amount for faith
His spirit dwells only in his children, the bride of Christ, the body, those who believe in him. Not in false Gods and Gods of their own creation. The God of the Bible is the only true God. Please look into it and read starting with the book of Matthew. God Bless
If god really wants a relationship with us then he sucks at it big time. In any relationship communication is the key. Being in a relationship with God is like child playing tea party with dolls.
Great up to the point of analogy with a wife. However, you actually meet your wife (and therefore KNOW she exists) BEFORE you fall in love. Yes? Can't see why it should be different with God.
what about those who would've loved him if he appeared? Matt is making it sound like "never meet your role model". so we would realise god is not perfect once we meet him? if first-sight-lovers didnt actually love their spouse at first sight because "they didnt know them", how can Matt expect disbelievers to love someone whom they have never met? so far nothing Matt suggests has an anti-thesis that is invalid. the opposites are just as true, if not more.
God can only spend 500 years with any given planet. He moved on to another planet right after Moses. He’s in the andromeda galaxy now hating gay aliens and women who talk back to men.
Look around, God is everywhere. In other words, what religious people refer to as God is merely the Universe itself: Omnipresent, Omniscient, Omnipotent, Omnivorous, ...etc. So, God is hidden in plain sight. Religion merely personifies Universe, so that believers can have AN understanding of what is Universe, otherwise they would be clueless as to WHY things happen.
idunno.. the emphasis on "love" and "personal relationship" is popular in 21st century "churchianity" but I don't get that emphasis from reading the Bible
Did Jesus not say to Love the Lord with our Heart, Body and Mind? It is throughout the Bible. Hundreds of examples. What you are getting at is that most do not what Biblical love is and you would be correct. The Love of the lord is not the love of this world. God bless

The Daily Wire it has come to me, VBM
God isn't hidden. Haven't you ever seen the sun rise and set?
The Daily Wire cuz he doesn't exist
@@colehalvorson1307 So why are we here then?
If our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
2 Corinthians 4:3-4 KJV
Daryl M So in essence, God represents and portrays himself as the Bible?
Daryl M Luke 15: god is said to go out of his or her way to find the lost sheep or the lost coin. God has done no such searching of me. If he exists, he acts very much like something that does not.
Thank you Daryl M. this was getting painful. I love Matt W. but he'll need hip waders to get to the other side of this one.
Thank you for this verse. God bless you.
The verse is about having Christ within you and the Gospel (The good news, not the physical bible) is known to you and to live the Gospel out.
Matt listened to this in absolute fascination, never thought about that question in those terms , I think you have hit on a hidden truth
The offense, and/or anger coming from the atheist commenters makes me wonder why they take Matt’s opinion so personally.
Marseilles Vieux I wish I could like this twice.
Ray W. Thank you brother.
Have an atheist on your show and have a conversation, Shapiro-Harris style. That would be fun to see
Kevin O'Connor as a Christian i agree it would entertaining.
I don't foresee a guy like Walsh every challenging his own beliefs in any serious ways
I would volunteer to do this talk with him. This guy has some BAD explanations.
@@bootybunkerspelunker that’s funny
Why is Walsh's arm so long in the thumbnail?
Appreciate your shows, Mr W; they always give me food for thought. Thank you.
Love you Matt. Keep fighting the good fight! 🤗
Such a rational guy. Except on Sundays
Thank you for this.. God is True Jesus Christ is the only way.
Yup and all the other religions are wrong....
God does not have to meet us personally; he just has to at the very least show that he does exist in order to expect anyone to follow his will.
you have free will to choose to follow God. Hes not going to force you to believe in him. The ability to say yes is pointless without the ability to say no.
joe smobody Someone I never met isn't going to force me to believe in him? My childhood imaginary friend has the same policy.
IamDennis .Ok your imaginary friend didnt create the universe and give you a conscience that bears witness to his existence.
joe smobody I saw this before going to work and thought about replying then but thought no need my response should be obvious. Then I thought, he probably doesn't see it. My imaginary friend has as much a role in those things as your god.
I apologize for this comment, think of it as a placeholder. Phones acting funny, I'll delete if I figure this issue out.
Blessed are those that haven't seen me but yet believes in me.
Hard RIght Blessed are the gullible.
Sounds like the kind of thing someone says to a fallower to keep collecting tyths
Enjoying your video's on Faith
Excellent Matt Walsh, excellent!! Three wonderful reasons. I've also thought the veil or divide was for our protection. God's glory was meant for us in the Garden of Eden or heaven awaiting. A full reveal could also shine light on the very sin we carry and the shame would be too much to bear, causing us to curse God. We would beg him to turn off that light, preferring darkness to his all consuming presence.
Yet we go to hell if we don’t believe in him..... wtf
@@clay-jp6zjPurgatory if you're not a douche.
Love the show Matt. Keep it up.
I would add:
- God told Moses that he could not reveal himself fully to him.
Slim 74 Amen.
I'm going through the comments laughing. We know how gravity works, it's not magic. Tide goes in tide goes out never a missed communication right?
1:50 is why I stopped believing. I didn't want to spend the rest of my life on my knees begging a silent, invisible, inactive being to please be real. If you believe, cool, but imposing that level of frustration on myself, knowing I would never get a real answer, seemed like a waste of time and life.
The perspective of: "God has let *me* down" is what is frustrating your attempts to unify with him.
Hmm.
He literally just did an episode on this
And....? Did he bring to the table any coherent facts? Nope. It's all woo woo all the time from Mr. Walsh.
Because he doesn’t exist.
Just because you haven't seen it doesn't mean it doesn't exist....
When I was a Christian I would see the presence of God in anything from ants on the ground to the stars in the sky. I miss those days. But now I see all forms of religion as myth. I hope I'm wrong but it'll take a literal miracle to convince me otherwise.
You were born. That's a miracle all on its own. 👍

I too wish my imaginary friend would show himself to me.
God isnt hidden he doesnt exist. There is a difference.
atheism is a belief system ... and every - be"lie"f - system is a little lie...
Your opinion is noted.
Is it impossible that there is a god? Not really.
+MixRightfight
It's so unlikely, that he bible may as well not be taken literally by anyone.
Is that a fact??
He’s hidden because He isn’t real.
God Bless
Great video, thanks so much! God bless!
Same reason Santa is hidden
So people hear this and go “yeah that makes sense…”
How is believing in the existence of God through the testimony of potentially mentally ill individuals different from believing that men can become women through the testimony of potentially mentally ill individuals?
God operates by faith . Faith comes by hearing his word . That is the clearest revelation of God's existence . God is his word . Just as each of us are known by our words .
Flying Spaghetti Monster is not hidden!
I would rather have my God hidden and love him , then see him and risk not loving him
We did it. And we can't fix it."
I would also say that, if we do the thought experiment of believing the gospel, hear it for what it is, assume it is true, then we do have that profound revelation of God, and profound is a terrible understatement: this is the best news possible.
So good. Well done.
Incredibly well explained📿📿📿
Because... he’s not real. Boom, answer solved.
This is incredible! More of this please.
Such uneducated comments... If you are not religious then why view this video? This is not a debate on God's existence
This comment is great. Don't be disheartened by TK UA. He's all over these comments looking to disagree.
Just like me, but opposite in ethos.

What other argument is there to have about it? God does not exist. The end. There's nothing else left to say about it.
joe smobody
"Faith is just believing where the evidence points".
Jesus said “where I go, you cannot follow”
Peter says “why? I’m ready! I wanna go!”
Jesus says “Truly I say to you, before the cock crows you will deny me three times”
Peter says “No! I will NEVER! I will die for you!”
Alas, 🐓🐓🐓🐓
Jesus knows we are not ready.

Got it.
Because he doesn't exist. 😐

John 20:29
Jesus said unto him, “Thomas, because thou hast seen Me, thou hast believed. Blessed are they that have not seen and yet have believed.”
He's not hiding, he's not there at all.
Rick Graham you’re so nuanced 😂
Did you even watch the video?
TK UA probably not. Matt Walsh has a LOT of hatewatchers who really don't listen.
Read Mere Christianity, by C. S. Lewis and get back to me!
+Rick Graham: Nonsense.
Amen. 🙏
Enoch wasn’t allowed to get close to god was only allowed to see from a distance
I find your framing of the question to be a little disingenuous
You frame it 'why does god remain hidden' when the proper question is 'why did god hide himself from modern man'
Because the Bible, especially the old testament is full of instances where God not only reveals himself to everyone, but he makes darn sure everyone knows it was him that did this or that
Here's a question I like to ask do you think that there is a god, and religions across the globe have a connection or is there evidence that there isn't one? (Note: "if he exists why doesn't he show himself" is an Argument done to death. I want you to go into detail about why he or she doesn't exist.) I would love to hear from you.
Title why is God hidden.
Me: becuase that would defeat the entire point of faith.
And that's it video should have been 10 seconds.
Then faith is fucking stupid
In Jesus, God has hidden the believer from his wrath.
If it's supposed to be merely the absence of God that causes this pain, why does God send anyone away?
who said he did ? Hell as I assume you are referring to is being far away from him and if you look around how many happy families do you know ?
God doesn't send people to hell. Christians believe that we can willfully separate ourselves from God, and that's what separation from God is like. Hell. God doesn't send anybody there; its the consequence of our actions. God didn't send Satan down to be a jailer, Christians believe he's there by his own will, and wants to mar the beings God made in his own image.
If you're going to attempt debate with Christianity please debate actual Christian teaching, not a misunderstanding of it.
If he could put some of his logic and smarts that he has on transgender on religion he would become a atheist

*"I have not spoken in secret, in a dark place of the earth: I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me in vain: I the LORD speak righteousness, I declare things that are right.* {20} ¶ Assemble yourselves and come; draw near together, ye that are escaped of the nations: they have no knowledge that set up the wood of their graven image, and pray unto a god that cannot save. {21} Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me. {22} Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else. {23} *I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear."* (Isaiah 45:19-23)

Selah. Selah."_ (Psalms 32:1-7)
*"Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God:* because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
I enjoy your segments
I like how you incorporate the spiritual component to the issues we endure today. There is so much noise out there over politics, parties, corruption, rascism and on and on
Yet everyone dismisses our lord and savior. If they knew him we wouldn't have all the issues we argue about. Thank you for your videos
Not everyone enjoys being in a hide and seek relationship
People wouldn’t act true to themselves if they truly knew God existed. God shows himself in ways that can only be perceived as coincidences and perfect timing. For me... my father is very very religious, he analysed the bible and converted words into numbers and the main number was 149. I see 149 atleast 3 times a day, someone’s over and over. I’m not saying 149 means anything... but I am quantumly entangled with that number, and it appearing is Gods way (maybe) of saying I’m on the right track.
I truly believe quantum mechanics is the key to all this.
If humans were able to comprehend god there would be no test there would be no point to this planet
Everything is a wonder to a willfully ignorant mind.
I love that you’re not afraid to speak the truth about political issues. But I find it even more meaningful when you speak the truth concerning God and his divine presence within our fallen and sinful world! I commend you for that and will always keep you in my prayers. God bless you, sir!🙏
Look around, he is everywhere. You're just blind AF.
Then god must be doing some Harry Potter invisibility cloak shit cuz that hella creepy
What is god?
A person who will disbelieve the report of a miracle would disbelieve the miracle right in front of your face.
God gives us enough to believe, but not so much that we have no choice. His grace is sufficient for us, just the right amount for faith
God is hiding in all of us. 🎣
If you were to let someone into your home for eternity what tests would you give them. most roommates do not last long
Great up to the point of analogy with a wife. However, you actually meet your wife (and therefore KNOW she exists) BEFORE you fall in love. Yes? Can't see why it should be different with God.
why God hiding, playing hid and seek with human being, is just common sense? It look like someone playing with human being
what about those who would've loved him if he appeared? Matt is making it sound like "never meet your role model". so we would realise god is not perfect once we meet him?
if first-sight-lovers didnt actually love their spouse at first sight because "they didnt know them", how can Matt expect disbelievers to love someone whom they have never met?
so far nothing Matt suggests has an anti-thesis that is invalid. the opposites are just as true, if not more.

Why Is God Hidden? -- duh, because god doesn't exist that's why. Not hard people.

Brought to you by The Daily Wire Religious Channel
God can only spend 500 years with any given planet. He moved on to another planet right after Moses. He’s in the andromeda galaxy now hating gay aliens and women who talk back to men.
“He”. Lol. Haha
Look around, God is everywhere. In other words, what religious people refer to as God is merely the Universe itself: Omnipresent, Omniscient, Omnipotent, Omnivorous, ...etc. So, God is hidden in plain sight. Religion merely personifies Universe, so that believers can have AN understanding of what is Universe, otherwise they would be clueless as to WHY things happen.
thinkofwhy I mostly agree with you, but be careful not to fall into pantheism
Why be careful? No belief system required, so what could go wrong?
idunno.. the emphasis on "love" and "personal relationship" is popular in 21st century "churchianity" but I don't get that emphasis from reading the Bible
Did Jesus not say to Love the Lord with our Heart, Body and Mind? It is throughout the Bible. Hundreds of examples. What you are getting at is that most do not what Biblical love is and you would be correct. The Love of the lord is not the love of this world.
God bless
Great vid that was awesome attempt I think you nailed it on a lot of fronts!! God bless my brother
Gods are the best at hide and seek.
