- The Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc is one of the most grueling trail races in the world. After winning in 2019 with a course-record time of 20:19:07, team athlete and ultra runner Pau Capell had one mission in mind: run the 106-mile trail in under 20 hours.

Covid 19 was really disappointed to us but UTMB won't just let it happen, many runners got opportunitie finding their adventure like Pau did even i was able to finished my 100k CCC in my own backyard.

I mean the dude ran around the largest mountain in the alps in 21 hours when he was like idk about this.....then said fuck it last minute....lol mad respect though I couldn't imagine taking on a challenge like this

Weird you didn't mention Francois D'Haene who finished UTMB in 19h01mn and Killian Jornet who also finished sub 20
Those were not the complete race lengths
That was 167km. 2018 onwards is 171km
There’s a lot of irony in this video...race gets cancelled due to health concerns. Then mega star North Face athlete runs it anyways with a large crowd greeting him at the end. Lmao.

Pau, why don't you carry poles through the whole course of the race, and don't you have all the mandatory equipment in the west? Is it fair to compare this attempt to a race conditions when you need to cary quite a bit more through the race.

Nobody's run sub 20 for the whole length of the course (170km). Pau's 2019 UTMB was a record for the full length at 20:19
@@cherries4life387 Francois d Haene won in 2017 the utmb 168km in 19h01mins so trust me he easily runs 2km in addition under 20 hours total 😇
@@julien7705 apparently the quoted 167/168km is wrong and it was 5km+ less.
But yeh you’re right that that year he probably would’ve gone sub 20, but that doesn’t mean it’s official.
So Pau’s got the record and looking for an official sub 20
