Upon unboxing, I was immediately upset at how the rails were very noticeably bent. But I kept going, all tools needed to assemble were included czcams.com/users/postUgkxqtX4Dxs6aecAZEuz6GY5-d81YecKCshn and I had it set up in about 30 minutes. Honestly I love this thing, make sure to read the measurements and measure your space so you know if it'll work for you. I bought this to put inside my closet, underneath where I hang my clothes and it is absolutely perfect! It is VERY sturdy and all drawers glide easily and mine are stuffed, and they are still flush when closed.
Love that!
Thank you sooooo much for this. Iâm going to do this to my IKEA furniture cause I outgrew the black and donât want to waste it lol
This is great. Iâm glad you posted this method without actual sanding đđŒđđŒ gonna try this today!

Cute!!!
You are Wonderful!! Nothing a Man likes more than a Woman that can use Handtools and Power Tools. Very good idea, and planning makes the job easier and goes faster. Thanks for the idea.
Amazing
Great job. Thanks for sharing. Did you in the end use two coatings of the shellac based primer, or one? You were talking about one, but it seemed to me that the second coating was similar to the first. Can you put water-based paint on a shellac based primer? I didn't know that.
You are my idol now
that is so sweet!
Thank you!!
You're welcome!
I found your video tutorial and excellent step by step process for painting IKEA furniture! Thank you! I am planning out painting my not-sold-at-ikea-anymore dining room table bench. Should I disassemble before prepping/painting? Also since my family will be actively using it for sitting at the table, I'm assuming it would need a sturdy top coat...maybe two. What would you recommend? Thank you!
Thinking about doing this since I miss the old turquoise kallax/expedit ikea used to sell.
yes... me too :)
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it
I Have Small Encyclopedia Library back in garage room.Wooden room Just planing to Apply wood coler
Just what I needed, thanks. Would you know roughly how much shellac-based primer you used for this project? Also, does the book shelf smell at all after curing?
so cool
Thank you!
Great video!!Thank you đ
May I ask you how long did you finish this work?
Wow!!
This is so cool, thank you!
I didn't want to like this but you did a very nice job. You deserve it!!
Thank you so much đ
WOW!!!!!! THat's amazing!! You're amazing!!! I have so many questions... i just don't know where to start...
Get started! And let me know your questions!
Hi, My granddaughter spilled acetone on my white cabinet and I didn't know what to do so I was given your video to watch and now I can paint it and do what you did to make it look nicer I think I'm gonna make each drawer a different color like you did. You're amazing thanks so much.
Glad you found it helpful! Have fun with the project
Nice
What paint did you use for the shelves and waves??
Hi Anika, superb video and so helpful! just one question, you mentioned that after the first coat of latex primer you can use other versions of primer e.g. water base? Have you tried it? In our paint shop the lady was not sure if the water based colour/primer is going to hold on to the first coat of latex primer. Is it safer to use the latex based paint after the latex primer or can we go ahead even with water based paint? thank you
Could you use beyond paint on ikea laminate furniture?
What is your favorite strong topcoat? I didnât see it in the description.
Also, I am painting a laminate desk and need a super strong top coat for the desk top as it will be getting lots and lots of use. What do you recommend to keep the top paint protected?
you could put an epoxy layer on top.
Do you get this primer from home depot? I'm trying to paint this desk surface I bought from Ikea which was white to black. Any tips on the paint I should be using? Stain?
Love the video, great for the encouragement to paint my shoe cabinet. I was trying to find the link for the high performance top coat since I want my cabinet to be a matte finish but couldn't find it. Can you please let me know which one would you recommend?
Here is the link amzn.to/3wbrU0w
can we use a mini electric sander if we have one?
So, whatâs your favorite white paint? đ Lol I am going to be doing this to a Grey IKEA dresser that we have! Iâm going to be painting it white! Great video, such a big help! Awesome job đđ»
My favorite is Alabaster by Sherwin Williams
@@Anikasdiylife did you use interior or exterior paint??
Can I paint Besta cabinets with chalk paint without primer?
Hi, now, after 2 years, how shelf's doing? Paint is in good condition or have a lot of scratches?
Hi! Love your work! Iâm looking to convert old billy bookcases to use outdoors. I used it for a party and in one day the laminate peeled off in some areas. What wood and sealer do you recommend using to basically cover the melamine under the laminate (removing the laminate)đŹ
The billy bookcases are not actually wood there more like wood shavings and glue made into panels. That type of material should really never be near moisture because it soaks it up and falls apart.
Hi. May i know the paint you use is oil paint or chalk paint?
What top coat do you recommend?
I am in love with this.
Quick question, do i have to sand it until its a bit white ? To remove the existing dark brown color or just a quick sanding ?!
I have exactly the same shelving unit as you have.
Just a little bit to rough it up - it will just look scratched up.
What topcoats did you use? its not in the description box
Beautiful! I'm looking to add some detail painting on the front and sides of my ikea bookshelf. Would you do the same thing?
Sure!
Hi! Iâm glad I stumbled upon this video. Which semi gloss paint do you recommend?
I have used the following paints with great long-lasting results:
Behr Marquee semi-gloss latex paint
Behrâs cabinet paint (this is semigloss as well.)
Hi, so do I ONLY use the BIN primer for first and second coating or did you use any white paint? Thank you and this is so helpful!
I used BIN primer for one coat and regular primer for the second coat and then two coats of paint. You can use only 2 coats of BIN primer if you like but that stuff is expensive so I like to use it for only one coat.
In the video you said you would put a top coat suggestion if you are using a satin or matte paint in the comments. But I donât see it.
Hi really love your ideas
Just for the products you use
Are you in UK or USA
Thank you
Thanks! I am in the USA
