Blizzard's long-awaited sequel to Diablo 3 has near perfect endgame and progression design that makes it absolutely excruciating to put down. The story is a disappointment despite still being a noticeable improvement over Diablo 3 and there are some annoying bugs that need squashing, but the combat, the loot game, and both the sights and sounds of this world are impressive enough to smooth over those rough edges. Diablo 4 takes the strategy of refining things the series already did so well rather than giving it a more substantial overhaul, and that careful and reverent path has shaped this massive sequel into one of the most polished ARPGs ever created.

Totally, even if it's only cosmetic based, you still need to talk about it to show off what cosmetics are 'in store' for gamers (pun intended) lol
Given that he sounds like a raving fanboy, it's not to be trusted anyway. The lack of mention of microtransactions, the glossing over of server issues, inaccurate statements about prior voice acting....it just doesn't sound like an impartial review.

My concerns are not with the game itself, but rather how Blizzard will drop the ball during launch or on post-launch.
Really bad ques for the first week like anything popular that will stabilize about a week after launch and only be an issue in the future for big patches or new seasons drops. Like always.
Game companies don't decide their server space available based on random popularity spikes, they use the average, so launches and big patches etc will always have lines and DC issues.

I'm glad they kept it similar to the successful formula. Diablo players mostly want two things: Build options and tons of loot
Tons of OWN loot = equals not much sense for trading= item value diminishes = no economy= game crapola and non addictive
successful formula was D2.
D3 however was disaster and D4 following same formula is disaster too

The sounds in this game...I haven't played it yet but just watching and hearing every slash, thump, slam and frost tinkle tankle...it sounds perfect.

This game certainly IS NOT amazing. As experienced player of franchise, to me this is one of the most uninteresting sequels, washed, bleak and boring. Gloomy grey graphics is very repulsive and story is just... ugh. Plus a lot of glitches and bugs. Certainly Blizzard is not going in right direction.

Me suddenly realizing this and street fighter 6 come out on the same day and that FF16 is coming out a week later was like waking up to getting smacked in the face by a frying pan.

I’ll be playing with my nephew and friend who have never played Diablo until the beta. So for them it’s a whole new game.

Any items in the battle pass is content they decided not to give player out of greed. It doesn't matter if its cosmetic or not, these should be earnable rewards for people who own the game. The game also has a shop. When did our standards get so low that we are protecting battlepass. Battlepass has NEVER been about P2W. Stop licking the boot.

My biggest concern was the fact that it will be pretty "expensive" to reset skilltrees at a certain point. Hope they changed that cause I'm not grinding gold for hours and hours just to try a different build though

It's not different.
it's designed to be played with a controller.
Aiming with your mouse is generally faster and more consistent. It's crossplay anyway, so plugging a controller into your PC will give a similar experience as console and let you play with console friends

The review is so positive. And the game looks tempting enough for me to buy a PC to be able to play. Something that makes me a bit nervous, a quick google search shows that they reviewed Diablo 3 with an even higher rating: 9.5/10. So... mmmm. IDK. With a game like this it's almost like I'd need to wait 6+ months to have complete and reliable messages coming from the player base.

$70 price tag, and all the other questionable design choices, bugs, and repetitive randomized dungeon bosses, I'd say 7/8. The way this reviewer acts sometimes seems like he has never played other ARPGS. He called something innovative or NEVER before seen, when cheaper/f2p ARPGS that are much older has already done those things lol. Don't get me wrong D4 isn't bad. But 9 is pushing it. Also the game can either get better, or they will ruin it like they have been doing with Overwatch and WoW classic. Blizzards/Actisisions greed knows no end. Activision has even made COD p2w and is pissing off all their consumers.
