If you have one of these shops then you might have invested everything you owned into starting up your own business. Your investment could have been from $50,000 to $250,000. For a while you might have prospered, paid your property taxes, hired employees, & became of good member of the community. But then, something happened. Drugs! And then softness & decriminalization of drugs & guns. Junkies took over the neighborhood. They ruined the area's appearance & started shoplifting from all the stores to fund their drug habits. The stores started to lose money, & started to lose customers & eventually just gave up & moved to a better part of town. Result: Bankrupt businesses, diminished tax bases, destruction of buildings, damages to all infrastructure, demoralization of citizens, increased drug addicts, increased crime. And so on.

This is not what they want. Addiction is a serious disease. It's like your no longer in control of yourself. I was an addict for many many many years. Had I not went to prison and got mental help and addressed the real problems being my addiction, I would still be shooting dope. If you never did hard drugs on the regular you don't understand real addiction. Addiction is insanity on steroids. The real question is why is there an open air drug market in Kensington? Why are they all over the united States? The veil has been lifted for me. Why does the president of the United States, Congress, Senate... And all other people of power allow this to continue? We went to war after 911..... This epidemic of addiction and illegal drug sales is 1000 times worse and has killed millions. Yet we haven't went to war against the cartels. Why do you think that is? ....... Money...... It's a trillion dollar industry. So many hands in the cookie jar. These people don't want to be ruled with these chemicals. They are not in their right mind. They need someone to advocate for them. We all turn a blind eye and hope it fixes itself. And there isn't as many programs available since COVID. If our own government doesn't care then who will? My disease is in remission.... No thanks to anyone other than God. No one cared about me. I had no family to take me in off the streets. No job.... No car, no license, no hope. Prison opened my eyes to many realities. If everyone is distracted then we can't be a unified people. I'm disgusted when someone says that addicts choose to continue their addiction. They lost their mind a long time ago. This is all about money and control. This paragraph isn't directed at you probably. It's directed to the people who think they have all the answers. The people who have no idea what they are saying. This is a disease worse than aids. Worse than COVID..... Worse than hell. Addicts need help and understanding and love..... But most of all they need hope. Hope that the answers are coming. Hope that this war will be over. Hope someone will save them from themselves. Thanks for listening.

Tragic but very real
Oh my God. Why are all these shops closed? Is it because of these homeless people without housing. And drug users. Or it is no longer as popular as before.
And so on.
So blessed and so glad i got out when i did..5yrs clean..🎉
Living in Canada (Ontario) , cycling to work this morning in a small city, there's a man laying face first on a sidewalk of a busy street. A young guy in a car and I stopped to call 911, seemed no one else cared to stop and call police, it's a very sad state of the world we live in.
Lucky for him a cop drove by a minute later and I waved him down so I continued cycling.
It's a crazy world...
The most painful part of this video is the commentary.
Kensington Ave not Kingston. 😢. I’m a hospice social worker who has a few patients around here. I see this often. Very sad.
That shit down there is bad. I never seen nothing in my life like that, besides California on Skid Row. That's what I call Kensington, Skid Row couple with the violence that's recently happening in the city. I'm moving down south where the property is cheaper the air is cleaner and I don't have to deal with the bullshit even though Atlanta has its own shit but I'm far out the way
I can’t imagine how the parents might feel seeing their daughter walking in this bad neighborhood like this. This is soooo sad and our money is wasted in Ukraine and other stupid things. Let’s get together and help our people first.
Trump
@@michelledempsey2452 yup. trump added more money to the deficit than any president in history.
It use to be a nice be a nice neighborhood until the suburban addicts came n never left.

@@michelledempsey2452Kennedy. Trump had he chance and spent 10 trillion to run up the market for the banks. It did little to nothing for most Americans.
The devil strikes mercilessly
Where do they go to the washroom?
Outside most of the time.
When people decide to engage in destructive behaviors for recreational pleasure they should be accountable and responsible for the results! This area is a disgrace and it is being shown on global news networks! The streets should be cleared of the drug addicts because tax paying citizens on that area should be able to live in clean, safe, drug free neighborhoods or they should put their taxes in escrow until the incompetent mayor impersonator and the incompetent DA impersonator, both members of the swamp, do their jobs! SHAME!! smdh!😡🤬
Where u gonna put all the junkies? In jail? No room for them
Hey, they are sick sick people. I know I was one.
It's the mayor! I live in Philadelphia and it's always been bad down there but not this bad. At one time they were trying to fix it but when this mayor came to office he did nothing and it got bad. Very bad. It's so bad. This video isn't showing how nasty and dirty it is there. I had to go to a store there and I had to literally step over dead rats and broken needles when I got out my car. Something can be done

Its sad,I'm a Philly girl, I grew up around this and it's absolutely NOT their fault, I have lost all my friends from drugs, and they wanted to get clean, and tried again and again,,it's easy to say it's their fault, but everyone has their own opinions, I respect that,it's sad to me,,❤
Sorry to hear. I know a few friends and a bunch of others from SW Philly that were lost to this addiction.
Whose fault is it?
@@ClutchFan It’s all men’s fault like everything else. Even though we created everything and given them everything including all rights and all privileges, it’s still our fault
@@ClutchFanIt's nobody's fault. It's the world's fault. Humans are still animals and we live in a competitive world. It's easy to fall into the fantasy that we're above other organisms but we're just that. An organism. Things happen and people go through shitty situations. Some make it out some don't. Some survive and some die. It's a cold world. There are no choices if you're never taught how to make choices. Everything is cause and effect. Everything that exists or happens is an algebra equation.

Where do they go to the bathroom? What do they eat? Where do they take a shower? How do they sleep on sidewalk?
Go to the bathroom on the streets because most stores dont have public bathrooms anymore because they would do drugs in them...which is a liability. They eat whatever they can find or scrape up with change they begged for. They dont shower or do a little bird bath in a sink if they find an open one. & they sleep on the sidewalk the same way we do in beds, by laying down. Some use a makeshift shelter for rain and whatnot.
Choices in life have consequences...
I don't feel sorry for drug addicts. People choose to be drug addicts.
As a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ I frequently visit this area weekly and I see these videos all the time and they always promote one side, what about the side of those who are reaching out that are trying to provide help I didn't see none of that in your video there are people that come out there faithfully to try to lend a helping hand and that save lives on a daily what about their perspective on the situation are you bold enough to air that. The reality of what the true cause of the addiction is? and once again the community is arrested The city needs to concentrate on the source they know the drug houses they know some of the drug dealers let's get the product off the street let's bust the labs let's have a crackdown if you think they got it then you go for it get them off the street shut down the houses and once the drug dries up now maybe just maybe the people that are a hooked will start seeking treatment because there's no more illegal drugs on the street let's not get it twisted Suboxone and methadone it's just another form of bondage let's get them set free who the son(JESUS) sets free is free indeed God bless you all and I pray that those with the power and authority will do more instead of just coming for photo ops.
You're 100% correct. But at least the suboxone and stuff like that is more safe and regulated
The first person. That young girl she s like 14yold or so. This is horrible. My heart goes out for thrm and all who suffering. Time for great awakening
I'm so grateful to see these area's before they went to crap, and i'm only in my mid 30's.
Those poor young girls. I hate thinking about them selling themselves to some low life.
How much would u pay?
Hey! Who are you calling a lowlife? I resemble that remark.
They chose that life. They're just as low on life as the person they sell themselves to!
One way to combat homelessness is to start building smaller, more affordable housing. The addiction aspect is another story. The government wants addicts and I've seen it first hand at the VA.
Чем больше наркоманов, тем меньше вопросов и больше быстрых денег.

Hello from Russia! In 2016, I came to your country as a guest, to my friends, by invitation from the USA, I visited Compton, California! I really liked everything, I was delighted! I really hope that these people will stop taking drugs! God bless them! Their whole life is in front of them, and they ruin it!!
You got your own problems.
America has fallen - wish I could escape to a sane town like Chillingbourne.
how sad it is to see that people in Kingston Avene having in the hand of drugs 😢 why USA government not taking proper solution for this ? they are claiming themselves that they are having well organised constitution and laws and order but where? 😢 pls take immediate action on this drug consumption. and catch the drug dealer and put behind the bar.i hope a better days for people in Kingston Avene Philadelphia...and to all homeless brothers there let take care of yourself and stay healthy better days will come lots of love amigos 😘
Not Kingston, it's Kensington. CZcams doesn't caption correctly.
Result of Decadence
The American dream or the fall of the empire. 😂😂😂
Place your bets.... It's over!
these people are comfortable with their lives, have not hit bottom. All the do goodrs are aiding in these souls in not hitting bottom. Feed them, clothe them, get them medical help, get them tents, enable them. They break laws all day long. Cops are hands off by decree of Mayor and D.A. The guys sell their ladies. They like the way they live.
thanks for the like. In the 70's I could have been one of them,I took action getting thru this crap, is npot passive, it just does not happen. You got tom work the program, listen do what you are told, and have that burning desire to stop and get out. Jesus is my answer. Must change every place person and thing.
This is what happens when you hang around with poor association
Don’t know why people say it breaks their hearts, this is what these people want !!!!
Thanks for listening.
what drugs are these folks doing to make them stand in place like some zombie?
My question is if people are homeless with no money for food how are they buying drugs
