- John Logan leaves his parents and sweetheart in bucolic Happy Valley to make his fortune in the city. Those he left behind become miserable and beleaguered in his absence, but after several years he returns, a wealthy man. But his embittered father, not recognizing him for who he is, plans to murder the newly- arrived "stranger" for his money.

Love this movie! Lillian Gish is a wonderful actress and her character is so stylish and cute in this one!
Very nice. The film was lost for over fifty years and then rediscovered in of all places the State Film Archives of the Soviet Union, which then donated the copy to the Museum of Modern Art. Robert Harron tragically died young at 27 after accidentally shooting himself in the chest with a pistol. He was also romantically involved with Dorothy Gish, his sometime leading lady. Lillian Gish, of course, would go on to one of the longest careers in film and stage.

I put ol' D.W. on my list of greatest ten American directors, when prompted by a film twitter questionaire, and predictably it didn't take more than five minutes before people started calling me a racist!

For all that is holy stop using Premieres with a unrealistic wait time. A hour or two is understandable but days? No.
Especially when you can just search CZcams and find the movie to watch instead.
You aren't going to get to enjoy the community's riff chat at those, though.
