    Can you prevent this from happening if you are driving it lightly 2500/rpm or less, assuming regular 5000 miles synth. oil changes?

    Are the lifters hydraulic?
    What are the main problems on theses engines?
    mine has misfires when accelerating between 2 and 3000 rpm...
    Thank you so much for your answer😊🇨🇵

    • @s33therfan
      @s33therfan  Před 3 měsíci

      It has the bucket style lifters. These pretty much have the same issues as any engine but they are statistically more reliable the 2.0l. If you are not getting any codes you might try the crank sensor. Appreciate the feedback.

    Hey I desperately need help , I brought new fuel injectors and I'm trying to replace the old ones , I know I gotta remove the intake manifold but I don't want to remove the whole engine just to get to it , is it possible to just remove the intake manifold w/o taking out the whole engine

    • @s33therfan
      @s33therfan  Před 8 měsíci

      I am not sure if you can get it out by simply removing the fan , or if you will need to remove the radiator , front bumper etc. You can most definitely remove it without removing the engine . Thanks for the feedback.

    The quesztion I have is my engine is this engine, it has 250,000 miles on it. When I first had it, about the first 100,000 to 150,000 I was not very nice to it in terms of oil changes, I just did my best to make sure oil was in it when I could, was poor at the time. Anyway I baby it now but im worried its going to go anyday even though it gives zero signs that I can see that its going to go out. Do you have any recommendations I should do to this engine that might prolong its life, should I open it up and replace seals etc or just run it to death and replace it? I have not went to kia to ask for a recall engine because I think theyll tell me to go away since I already got 250,000 miles out of it, but I thought it was a safety recall.. you know they catch on fire or something...

    • @s33therfan
      @s33therfan  Před 2 měsíci

      The first sign of any engine noise will most likely be the rod bearings . I would quit driving it immediately . From there I would replace the crank , rod bearings , and main bearings. If you catch that early on I wouldn't be surprised if the engine would last many more years. Thanks for the feedback.

  • @TruckinBeagle

    How many miles were on this? So it was your engine? You didn’t sound sure if it had seized before or after head gasket failure. This was an NA engine? I have the turbo 1.6 in my Forte GT. Very interesting tear down thank you.

    • @s33therfan
      @s33therfan  Před 11 měsíci +1

      Yes . Basically the engine was overheated from a cracked radiator. 150k miles on the vehicle.Thanks for watching.

      @@s33therfanThese cars have a temperature gauge...why would someone keep driving it till it blew the head gasket! SURELY, if it was that hot, steam was coming out from under the hood. PEOPLE, if its running hot, SHUT IT DOWN...NOW.

    • @leecowell8165
      @leecowell8165 Před 4 měsíci +1

      In this day it just doesn't make ANY sense to keep driving once those temps start rising above nominal. This happened on my 7.3 diesel power stroke and unbelievably reliable engine but it blew the water pump. water and steam everywhere but once the temp started rising (the truck had a REAL gauge) I shut it down an got on the horn. No damage to the engine itself just replaced the pump and was good to go. ALL engines have coolant for a reason, folks.

      the 2.0 does not have a turbo and it also has port injection. after 2022 that engine's reliability skyrocketed but one needs to keep their foot atta it because its mounted to a CVT tranny, okay? Respect your drive train and it will respect you.

    The G4FC MPi engine is better, any engine can last a long time if you take care of it and not treat it like junk. Mine has 122k miles, i plan on turbocharging my kia soul.

  • @lesklower7281
    @lesklower7281 Před 2 měsíci

    There are two deal breakers on this kia soul engine firstly a plastic thermostat cover and direct injection except for Toyota motors who take the trouble to have both direct injection and port injection well we own a reasonably new car which has port injection and a metal thermostat cover its on our Suzuki Baleno but fortunately they are not sold in the USA but are sold to the rest of the world and another thing built in the same factory in lndia they make the Toyota Starlet which is just a rebadged Suzuki Baleno and the Suzuki Baleno when sold in Australia they were the cheapest car sold in Australia
