BMX bunnyhop PROGRESSION for NOOBS

  • I learned how to bop the bike both wheels up simultaneously at 15 but never learned the proper bunnyhop where the front wheel lifts first.
I found a bmx during council cleanup and recently decided to give it another try at twice the age.
Watching this video really helped as it broke down the bunny hop into steps.
    • Bunny Hop | How-to Tue...
The part where she shows rear wheel hops, really helped as that scooping motion, I did not get. Also the suggestion that a little jump could help gave me the idea of bopping off a little axe handle to help with timing.
I noticed that my biggest issue is that I brute force it up but all my efforts fight against each other. My next goal is to use my back muscles and pull back on the bike rather than use my arms to pull back while I am crouched over the bike like hunchback.
Here is other videos that helped.
    • HOW TO BUNNY HOP A BMX...
    • How To Bunny Hop BMX
When he says "its all about technique, you should be able to bunnyhop as high as you can pull the front wheel up". That was quite inspiring.
I trained pretty intensely about 10 minutes each day. I could not do much more than that because I have damaged wrists from other activities. I gave myself about three days rest inbetween. These are the results after 4 days of training, 10 minutes each.

Man, the best thing about your video is to see how things actually happen, because in the vast majority of tutorials, progress happens in a matter of minutes, I mean, the guy starts with the manual then goes to the rear lift, puts the two together and by magic he's jumping two feet. Thank you.

I have watched so many bunny hop videos. This is my new favorite. I have been taking a similar approach, and it’s inspiring to see that you look like I look in the early stages, but you end up at a place I want to get to, which gives me confidence that I am on the right path. I need to add the rest days. I’ve been pushing myself a bit too hard and my body is paying for it.

I can hope up 3 stairs but without an obstecle Im not in control all the time, gonna practice some scoops too!
Also the hand placement helped me the past week a lot dude, like, do some fakies and see how u keep ur hands, then kind of do the same when bunnyh too. It dictates the way u balance urself, i dont have probs with looping out but i do nose dive sometimes still ;D
      Basically(for myself)
      -raise front end practice
      -scooping practice
-balance practice (hand positiong, stabilizing in the air

I think that it’s realy important to get the front whee off of the ground with the prelod and push L shapetechnique which you would use to start a manual, although I might be wrong because I practice on a mountain bike. If you just lifted the front wheel with a jump, you might be held back a bit with the front wheel still being on the ground and the energy used for jump would be more distributed for getting the front and back wheel off the ground, whereas if you were to use the manual preload L shape technique, the jump which follows it is used more on actually getting your body and just the rear wheel high up.

    • @111jkjk
      @111jkjk  Před 3 lety +1

Sleep is an important process to recover the nervous system. When new connections are made, byproducts are produced which need to be removed. That is why babies sleep so much, due to the amount of learning they do. A lack of sleep results in diminished gains and a complete lack of sleep will lead to deteriorating motor control and ultimately death if sleep is not permitted. Sleep also is a time when the body recovers alongside the activity in the brain. Without sleep, your muscles and joints will not be able to repair themselves.
