My weeklong road trip with VickyFlipFlop was amazing! We stopped at so many places and did so many things, it's really hard to process just how much we did! With our Ford Mustang, we drove over 1,000 miles between visiting the cities and driving to each activity and other scenic routes.
During the trip, I filmed daily vlogs for each of the locations and made some high-quality sequences with my Sony A7R II. This video is a supercut of all the high-quality sequences together to give an overall insight into the trip!
Some of the activities we did in Florida were: go-karting, air-boating, Segwaying, beach lazing, Daytona Speedwaying, Kennedy Space Centering, and a whole lot of Mustanging!
If you enjoyed this video, I'd recommend checking out the individual vlogs for behind the scenes action. You should also stay tuned for much more travel related content on the way soon!

This trip was sponsored by Hertz and VisitFlorida as part of VisitFlorida’s Moments of Sunshine. I travelled with another travel blogger VickyFlipFlop, through 6 cities across Florida, USA; and will be releasing many more videos from the trip throughout January, 2016!
Don't worry, these vlogs will be rearranged chronologically in the Florida playlist once they're all uploaded...

Wow now thats how you do it ...something to aspire to. Really enjoyed watching and learning thanks
Thanks Michael, glad you enjoyed it and got something more than just entertainment from it!
Colour grading in this was insane joe! Can't wait for more
Thanks Harry, I've been getting used to my Sony A7R a lot recently so I have a much better idea with what I'm looking to achieve with it!
Music was so good in this video. And great video as well!
Thanks Alex! I found the music a long time before even going to Florida and have been waiting for the right video to use it with!
+Joe Allam love at first sight! ;)
+Joe Allam by the way, I know you use premiere for your colour grading but can after effects do the same thing?
I imagine so, though I'm not an AfterEffects user to know 100%. Curves adjustments would be the main tool I'd look for.
Joe Allam Thank you for the answer, I hve been experimenting. Levels and Curves are the best way to do it. Not a massive question but why not? Never needed it?
Looked like so much fun!
It really was! I still can't believe it was all done in a week!
insane joe. really. i want to visit florida one day too. it's such a beautiful movie/city. i love this work! thank you!
It really is amazing and it's not all about the theme parks, there's so much more there!
Great video! it looked nice as well. And Damn those pancakes at 1:46 looked tasty!
Those pancakes were actually gingerbread pancakes and yes, they were mighty tasty!
Great video! Loved it!
Great quality! Editing is on point too!
Thanks for sharing!
Looks fun!
Great job as always!
Many thanks!
Really cool one ! The coloring is impressive ! Congrats perfect work (as always) ;-D
+Mehdi al-hasani Thanks Mehdi! I went through and recoloured most of the clips for this as well, so glad you took note of it!
OH MY WORD!
How the hell were you able to color grade every single shot looking like it was an excellent photo?!
I absolutely loved the color grading on this video it is insanely good. Can't wait to see more and probably also a BTS of how you edited and especially graded this amazing piece of Video.
I am very impressed an glad I found your channel, back in the day when you uploaded your Setting my Desk up Video. Great seeing how you evolved quality wise!
Thank you! That was exactly one of the biggest requirements I set myself for this video; to make every shot look like it could hold itself individually, but also feel part of a collection of shots.
I put a huge amount of time into grading every shot and I'm really pleased everyone is noticing the effort that went into it! At some point I may reveal my methods for grading shots in a video, but for the moment I've got too many other videos already on the go! Essentially I shoot in S-Log2 on my Sony A7R II and then use Lumetri Curves in Premiere Pro. Occasionally I'll use a LUT from DeLuts as well. Thanks for sticking around all this time!
Awesome video!
Beautiful video Joe! Keep it up!
Thanks, Luca! More like this on the way very soon 👍🏻
Woa, Great edit !!
Very well done Joe
I get to go to Florida this June!

I like your video a lot.
Amazing Thaks for the view to florida and quick question would you maybe do a video about what u use of gear on a typical travel video
You're welcome! I have filmed a travel camera bag video which will be coming out very soon 👍
over the top
Haven't been subscribed long Joe but you just played an absolute blinder with that one. You don't need a hammer because you nailed it!! Great editing in there, keep it up, and more people will love it. As someone else suggested, a quick editing tutorial would be cool :) Regards from the UK :)
This comment really made me smile! "You don't need a hammer because you nailed it!" 😂 I've never heard that as a saying or anything similar!
Glad you liked my video and you should definitely look out for more like this. Similar to my Paris and Tokyo videos, I'll be making similar ones for each of the countries I'll be travelling through over the next 5 months.
Joe Allam No problem Joe!! I saw that comment a while back but thats the first time I've used it, and it seems to good effect! :) I will get round to watching all of your other videos in the soon time. :) Looking forward to what could come soon!...
You should make the color grade change as the environment changes. So from that tropical like movie type one to a dark yet colorful gradient when you enter that museum
nice vid man
Thank you!
Great video Joe! Love the editing. Where are you going next?
Thank you! I'm currently in Thailand having just been to Hong Kong which will be my next videos!
+Joe Allam Great! I´ll look to your next vid.
Hey Joe your travel videos are very elegant and neatly done! I want to create a travel video (combination of footage and photos) with my newly purchased dslr. Do u have any advice on what sort of shots to look for and how to integrate photography/filming into my travel schedule?
Thank you! My advice would be to try and capture the things you're doing and experiencing in a perspective that would be interesting and memorable for you to look back on. If you watch the video back and it makes you happy about your memories then you're doing something right! Remember to also enjoy your travels and don't just spend it looking through the viewfinder 😉
Great Video! Editing is on point! How long did it take you ? Im currently making my video atm and its taking me ages it's got skydiving etc!
Hi Joe, i reallh like your video and the music you use here. Ive also checked out your other vids and i find it very helpful. Im starting to make small videos also just for fun and I was wondering if i could maybe use the music you use in this video?
Fantistic video my friend! Your camera?
Thank you! Most of it was shot with the Sony A7R II, and a few were with a GoPro Hero4
I saw the speedway. My grandfather was a professional racer.
Discovered you today. Nice vlogs and blogs! What color gradings do you use on your videos?
Cheers! All footage filmed in S-Log2 on a Sony A7R II. Then graded manually in Lumetri with a LOT of curves. If you're looking for quick fixes, check out DeLUTs
Thanks for your comment! I will check DeLUTs!
Yes man, this is what I'm talking about. What did you shoot this with? I shoot all my stuff with my 70D, and thats great for all around. But theres something about that sharpness this has. Sony???? Always get inspiration for my youtube from you're videos!
Cheers, John! I shot most of this with my Sony A7R II and occasionally with a GoPro or Canon G7 X. The Sony shoots in S-Log2 so I was able to get a huge dynamic range and grade the shots to my liking. I agree, the Sony produces an incredible image and has a certain quality to it. I don't think it's so much the sharpness, but more of a lack of compression that makes it look clean. The 70D is a really great camera to use as a cameraman, but the image it produces is quite contrasty and occasionally blocky. Since having the Sony, I've not wanted to film on my other DSLRs haha!
Awesome, Would you recomend making the switch to sony? maybe from the 70D to the A7R? Also would it be that bad to stick to canon glass, or should I switch that as well?
For video work, definitely. The quality is just so much better! You'll miss the touch screen, but manual focus gives a more authentic video output and you'll be disappointed with the battery life, so get plenty of spares! I still don't have any native Sony lenses and use all of my canon lenses still. I'm still much quicker at taking. Photos with my canon though by the way...
An editing tutorial like your photography one for something like this would be awesome
+Jack Hunter Thanks for the suggestion, I'll keep it in mind as quite a few people have asked about this. I may actually do things like this as a Periscope whilst I'm travelling.
Cool travel video edit! You seem to have lots talent! I like the transitions and slow motion shots a lot :) iphone really has better camera than anyone expects, I do my travel videos with iphone too all the time and they turn out spectacular! Maybe if you want to get a bit inspired for your next travel video have a look :)
Bro what VSCO presets did you use for this video? haha
Oh, it wasn't VSCO (they're just for photos). I manually graded them with Lumetri in Premiere Pro using curves and other adjustments. I then occasionally applied one of the London DeLuts to it, if it needed a little extra stylising.
+Joe Allam aha I was expecting you to see the comment as a joke xD I was joking hahaha. But thank you for the info :D
+Futsalfreekicker Joe is very helpful regarding Creativity and stuff like that!
What kinda camera do you use to film all these?
All filmed with the Sony A7R II
hey I plan on traveling I just want to know what type of software to use and Windows or Apple.
+Astral Consciousness Whichever you're most comfortable with. It would be a disaster if you went travelling with equipment you didn't have experience with before you left. I use a Mac and edit photos in Lightroom and video in Premiere Pro.
what camera are you using? and what editor? hihi 💛 u just earned a subscriber btw.
Hey there! This was shot on the Sony A7R II and edited with Premiere Pro
can you make a tutorial for the color grade?or can you tell me how to change color like in this video?sorry for my bad English😀✌
I get asked this A LOT. There's a ton of great tutorials on CZcams about grading for actual colour professionals who will explain their craft much better. Take a look into S-Log as well, that's the setting I use on my Sony for the cine sequences. 👍
Hey Joe! can i do this type of VSCO Grading for Videos on Final Cut Pro X? is there anyway?
+Ahmed Zyshan Sure! Any editor that has some form of colour control will allow you to achieve pretty much any result. Look for curves adjustments or 3-way colour controls and you'll be able to play around with things.
Thank you =)
Is your music. Ncs?
Hi joe, discovered your channel today very impressed!what lens would you recommend for a d3200?i have a kit 18-55mm and a sigma 70-300mm and have about £200 for the new one :)
+Charlie m get a 50mm prime lens. it'll give you shots like at 1:35
+Sambit Biswas Thanks, heard a lot of great stuff about them!any particular aperture you would pick?
its all about the price really. f/1.8 is sub $120. f/1.4 is $350 and f/1.2 is $750. Get the one you can afford. All have amazing sharpness and shallow depth of field. I have the f/1.8 which I used to make 2 videos on my channel. check out PYRO and the Happy Birthday Sycther videos.
+Sambit Biswas f/1.8 is probably the one for me then, looks superb so can't really fault it for that price!
Its amazing! get the STM version tho. its the latest one. same price.
Was this colour graded? cuz dayum the colours are on POINT
Haha yes every shot was graded in some way. Most of it was shot with the Sony A7R II in S-Log2 and graded with Lumetri curves in Premiere. Occasionally I used a LUT from DeLuts
Those fucking Mustang shots, you are pissing me pff Joe!!
Haha! Is it the Mustang or the shots? It was a pretty epic ride…
The shots make the Mustang, I guess :p
