I think they've always edited a bit. I heard a couple different versions of public access calls. Maybe they try to exaggerate the responses to make them funnier? Either way they're still funny as hell, embellished or not.

Phony phone call indeed. Even the swap shop show was phony. Production for the HSS is becoming so obvious now. No show would allow third fourth and fifth repeat pranksters back to back like that. Only more obvious phony prank call was the Arab AT&T swap shop call. The show needs to just go away if their creating fake shows just to do phony phone calls to.
