    when I was a kid, i could only play diatone harmonica. I‘m now 65. I started learning chromatic harmonica by reading sheet music two months ago, I can now play many beautiful pieces of classical music such as Saint Saen’s The Swan Lake, Love theme of Cinema Paradiso, Schubert‘s Serenade, etc. Playing chromatic harmonica is easy when comparing with violin, piano and flute as I also started learning these musical instrument six months ago.

    Had not realized that C is a Blow for C3 and C4, makes sense when you think about it.

      When you look at the layout of notes, all the notes in one octave are the same in another octave. The only thing that changes is the pitch as you go through the harmonica. And learning all the notes on a chromatic harmonica are actually easier to remember than the notes on a diatonic harmonica. Even though I own about close to a dozen diatonic harmonicas (primarily due to what each is tuned to), my chromatic harmonica selection is bigger. I have various name brands in different keys, the majority of them are in C. Welcome to the world of the greatest instrument ever designed.

    I learn to play the 10 dictonic for 2 years, still learning. I have a hohner key C, seydel steel deluxe key A and a Suzuki Manji low G. Now thought of getting another 12 hole chromatic , which key do you recommend ? Swan or Easttop are within my budget less S$100. What do you recommend ?

    For some reason on my chromatta 10, the first two holes are numbered but then it goes from 1 to 8, do you know why please?

    • @grantmichael4822
      @grantmichael4822 Před 7 lety +1

      freddiemercerful thats because the number 1 marks the middle C on the piano (C4), given that its a C harmonica, the first two holes are G (blow) and A (draw) and next hole is C the same as hole no 1 (blow) and B (draw). I also have the suzuki scx 56, the first two holes is not marked as well.

    What puzzles me is how the fourth hole blow is a C, but then the fifth hole blow is also the same as the fourth hole blow.
