1980's Italian Vespa Restoration - Bare Metal Finish

- The full body and engine rebuild on a #piaggio #vespa PK 50 from 1986. This nut and bolt #restoration will have the look of a DMC DeLorean from Back To The Future due to the bare metal to clear coat finish.

As someone who proudly owned a Vespa ET2 50cc, I thought the build -- at first -- was a bit over the top for a mere 50cc. But, damn, she is one truly fine scoot! Great, great job!

Nice restoration! It would be great if you can make a video showing the before and after and any performance gains from the improved engine.
Thanks!! I'll post some more content on my Instagram page, Corner.Custom. There aren't really noticeable power gains, but it's running way better. Before it would hardly run idle and get up to RPM, that's the main improvement

this period i am trying to restore a pk 50 ss and i am trying to achieve the same result exactly! nice... the only difference is the products you use. very nice idea and very nice restoration! wanna se more pics
Thanks. Unfortunately it's already starting to rust underneath the clearcoat. I'm thinking about stripped the body back to the metal again and go for a bright color. Not sure on that though 🤔
@@corner.custom wow.... is there any other option like a clear primer? or epoxy primer with no colour? maybe the rust stabilization varnish you use underneath the frame could do the job.... and after this one aply the clear laquer... maybe this could work
@pgiannikos I searched for it and couldn't really find an alternative. The only other option I can think of it spray it in with WD40 and maintain it

Echt prachtig, heb zelf uit Spanje een 125 pk 125s gekocht vorig jaar. Zitten best wel wat dingen op en aan waar ik wat aan kan doen, waar heb jij de meeste onderdelen vandaan?
125! Dat klinkt goed 👌🏼 Zeg niet dat ik spijt heb om de 50cc op te knappen, maar verlangen wordt wel steeds groter naar meer power. Heb alle onderdelen bij De Klassieke Vespa fabriek vandaan. Goede service, top gasten!

Ik ga hem van de week uit elkaar halen, ik ga voor donkergroen, hij is nu oranje maar ik denk wel overgespoten ooit. er zit geen roest aan, maar al met al toch wel aardig werk. Wat een werk heb je gehad en dan ook nog alles filmen. @@corner.custom

How do you open the side panels. Just bought one and can’t figure how to open the panels😢
Haha I feel you man, I had the same struggle. Underneat the seat you'll find on both sides of the fuel tank a plug that need to be pulled up. Then you can open the side panels

Brunox is trash, i would just go for a regular 2k epoxy primer

@Aikaramba12 yes sure is. Normally I don't worry with 1k stuff, but this I had laying around. Eventough with the 2k clearcoat it already started rusting underneath it 😟
