0:25 Video Starts Around Here - Zábava
In the lore, Zealots are problematic to the Imperium sometimes, usually when they start their self guided purges through groups of people that might be considered valuable such as skilled workers or if they start to make their way up the hive city in their crusade. Basically, your Zealot most likely inconvenienced the rich and powerful.
Truth here. I imagine at least 1/3 of Ordo Hereticus work is checking religious zealots, who purge mutants and unclean with too much enthusiasm!
Ooh, cool, thanks for the explanation!
Also, Imperial Faith does have variety within itself. So zealots of one form of it tend to have problems with people following other forms of it.
The voice pack you pick is probably the biggest choice when it comes to character creation. Armor and helmets might cover parts of your face, but what they say and how they react to the rest of the team will never change...so it's a big part of the game's draw.
Love that. I truly love that.
In this game zombie = pox walker
Oh word. I'll be on the lookout when I play.
There is kind of zombies in the game. They're Pox Walkers, it's basically the same thing but the walkers are aware of what happened to them, can feel everything, and they have no control over their actions. Which, if you can imagine, being in a rotting body, be able to feel all the sensations of your crippled limbs being forced to move, and being forced to try to kill your neighbors, that's pretty horrifying. You can actually here them pleading to you some times.
As to why fight, you fight because you'll be executed if you don't. You were basically on death row for whatever crime you're accused of at character creation. The Imperium doesn't have much tolerance for recidivists. Kind of a symptom of having way too many people around.
The major difference between pox walkers and your regular joeschmo zombies, is the cause.
Pox walkers are basically demonic zombies that's it. It's not really the diesease that makes them hunt down others. It's the chaotic warp energy that comes along.
The diesease pretty much just rots your body.
Or that's just my interpretation of it. I'm probably wrong but I feel as if it's the best way to explain the difference besides how you did it.
This. Plus, if it is a magical outbreak of the Walking Pox as opposed to a weapon in this case, feeling fear or despair at hearing them groaning, screaming and cackling is enough to infect you with it as well. Quite a more horrifying take on a zombie plague.
Yes Grendel is from Beowulf. Grendel is also a Dark Horse comics character.
Darktide is fun! Very immersive, the environments are amazing! The game play is the same as Vermintide, if you played that (warhammer fantasy setting) if not, it is similar to Left4dead. It gets chaotic and you get bonuses from sticking together as you progress. Even if you are not a 40k fan, it's a good game with a lot of DLC potential. Your first 10 levels are to get used to how it plays and learn your character, get small upgrades. Do not worry about learning the maps, there are many routes and its super easy to get lost. Just stick together! Play it, have fun... spill blood! Just ignore that corpse god. Khorne cares not from where the blood flows.
Grendel: War Child is still one of my favourite comics of all time 👍
@@macgonzo The whole series has been getting re-released in omnibus format. I've been buying them all as they come out.
@@orionassante3386 I did not know that! Thanks for the heads up! ☺️ (Although my bank balance doesn't like you right now 😅😅😅)
Lore-wise, the Imperium uses prisoners as conscripts. They fit them with bomb collars to make them behave. They would send them on suicide missions they didn't want to loose loyal troops on. If the prisoners accomplish the mission and live they get time off their sentence. They also will use them as cannon fodder in battle. Given a prisoners jumpsuit and a lasgun and told to charge the enemy and if they survive the battle they get their sentence reduced.
Tabletop-wise, there were rules for cheap units you could field of these prisoners. They had no armor, low skill in combat and poor leadership. The advantage they have are they can screen your more valuable troops from enemy fire or charges. If they broke in combat you could instantly restore order to the unit by blowing one of the heads off and removing a model to represent the collar going off.
For Darktide you are a super elite version of these prisoner troops. You are being used by the Inquisition to go on dangerous missions to disrupt the enemy. If you die its no problem for them, they will just find another prisoner. Even though you are skilled and not some Joe Schmoe, you are still replaceable.
Grendell was a deformed giant birthed by the queen of monsters who also was the bastard son of the King who's land he was terrorising.
Beowulf slaughtered it by cleaving it arm off with the Kings grandfather's sword
you're serving the Ordo Hereticus of the Inquisition of mankind. You are a convict, not worth anything in the eyes of the Inquisition but sent as an expendable resource to purge Nurgle's filth in the hive city of Tertium. As you complete more missions, you earn trust with the Inquisitor and his retinue and gain access to better and better weapons and gear and are able to take on increasingly difficult missions.
When the Inquisitor said “It’s you, you are the Warhammer 40,000: Darktide!”
Was the best moment in the trailer.
"What are we, some kind of Warhammer 40k Darktide?"
Trailer/Teaser/Shorts wise. There’s (The Lord Inquisitor Grey Knights) teaser
(Chaos gate Demonhunters) teaser
(Guardsman-2018) it’s a short 4 1/2 minutes
(The Faith) black Templars Fanimation. 13 minutes
There’s also (Death of Hope) fan animation 20 minutes long it’s good if you’re curious for a glimps of what it’s like being held captive aboard a chaos ship traveling through the warp.
Also there’s Helsreach which is a fan made movie that is EXCELLENT by the way. That you’re missing out on.
Psyker, veteran, zealot, and ogryn. You play four brands of convict, from your choice of world, with your choice of personality and looks.
It's not a chainsaw. It's a chainsword
From what I understand. Pox Walkers are not undead. The person is still alive and aware. Like locked in syndrome
If you're ever looking for people to team up with, I'd be happy to join 👍 As for your comment about a Christmas Ork, there's a character called Da Red Gobbo which is kinda like a Christmas communist space goblin 🤣 Bricky's Darktide videos are probably worthwhile reacting to, not sure about gameplay videos to react to though...
If you need a teammate I’m a lvl 22 veteran
@@snowtfl5617 Didn't get a notification for this... Add me on Steam, handle is same as on here. Taking a little break just now, playing the games I bought during the sale 😅 I'm level 30 for every class 👍
So she's a zealot main guys
You thought that trip through the warp was traumatizing... that ship was shielded.... think how awful it would be in an unprotected ship
Also yes to twitch
No, I don't think I wanna consider that
Fight an evil Santa? Well the there are nasty things sent by Nurgle, who's thought of as grandfatherly by his followers... 🤷♂
I'm no heretic. The Emperor protects.
In the Imperium of Man, they use criminals as Conscripted fighters to throw into battles, and it is the promise of no longer being rejected by the Imperium and allowed to be forgiven, and rejoin society is the enticing lure to the Conscripted. Though of course it is *extremely* rare(as in only one person has been rumored) for you to actually be pardoned and accepted, it has happened in lore history before.
Hi, if you want a little bit of Darktide class play (and some more explanations), here is video from Bricky :D But beware, little spoilers included. czcams.com/video/azzXmng_oCc/video.html
Also, Bricky have some tips for each class here: czcams.com/video/x5w3qVQklP0/video.html.
For the other games, if you want to get more into Faction gameplay and lore, I highly recommend Dawn of War 1 and 2 Series (Kit will know, so he can guide you here). Those are RTS games (strategy - base building, commanding whole armies... And one of the best playable orcs for me is from DoW 1 - Warboss Gorgutz 'Ead 'Unter, with proper Ork speeches and humour. :D
Bricky's videos about Darktide really are nice.
Also yeah, DoW games do have a good amount of character interaction (kind of like Command and Conquer in that aspect I guess).
40k's version of Santa is Da Red Gobbo.
Jus' sayin'.
So, how did the plans go? Still can do a bit of carry and lend a hand if needed
As others have already pointed out, good job with the Beowulf knowledge - none of my friends picked up on that and I felt like a massive nerd, even amongst fellow 40k fans! Also, I'm pretty sure that if you or Kit wanted to run some and opened it up to fans, you'd have a huge line of people volunteering to run missions with you. The game has flaws, most Fatshark games do at the time of release, but they also tend to get refined into true gems. Don't get me wrong, it's a fun game (I've put triple-digit hours into it), I just believe in being honest with people before they dive in so that they don't get disappointed when hit with the more frustrating aspects of the game (namely, gear progression that is objectively worse than the previous -Tide games). Also, it's all co-op, there is no single player.
As for why you are fighting? Falsely accused, looking to prove you're loyal, and your original sentence was execution... so yeah... want to live? Go fight for the Emperor!
That could be really fun! I'll definitely let Kit know about your suggestion! I absolutely love that.
Well, every STILL human soul.
Bricky has 2 videos on Darktide that you should definitely check out.
Luv da vid, luv da game, luv da emprah.
Das da stuff.
I'd love to see you play ANY Warhammer 40k game. Where on twitch can I find you? Also I'd like to see a stream centered around character creation in darktide
You're team Nurgle now. I've seen enough and the popa approves! 😝
😁
kinda wished there were more reacttion to the classes trailer. they were pretty epic
My favorite Chicagoan reactrix on a roll here. Best episode so far. Neither foe nor faux, but a fan for sure.
Zombies = Nurgle.
If you're keen on joining in on the fun of Darktide, I have to recommend watching The Templin Institute's video on Hive City Tertium. It gives a good chunk of background information on the game's setting.
Look at the class trailers
www.youtube.com/@alexjordanvo has some great gameplay - and he's one of the playable character voice actors.
Grendel is the monster in Beowulf.
The Emperor compels you to play this game!
Beowulf, the original giga chad
Is Darktide a perfect game? Far from it
Is it complete? Not really
Is it fun? PURGE THE HERETIC! BURN THE MUTANT! KILL THE XENOS! FOR TERRA AND THE GOLDEN THRONE!!!! (Yes)
3:00 I think a Frances Fisher would be an excellent choice. But Judi would be perfect to play her character.
We played around 300 hours alredy and still wait for crafting system and content update thats not there. This is bad.
Might want to wait a year to play darktide its pretty bear bones rn and might not be worth the buy...
Herrezyyyyy
Can you all react to combat gods 1 and 2 by Jhanzou? They are pretty sick fights and the second one improves the fighting and everything and its very hype
if you need people i'm down to play with you XD
Love the vid
Love Warhammer
But it my humble opinion the last Doctor Who finished before I was born(1987)
