    It's not just that he held a note that long. Lots of people can hold a note that long. Chester held a SCREAM that long. That's what's impressive about it.

      And then switched nearly immediately after expending a huge scream which f**** with your voice To singing again. That's unbelievable. Very few people have the vocal range to do both a high pitch scream for long-term and a lower pitch scream for long-term and barely anyone can do it both of them and then switch in less than three seconds to singing normally again. Not for scream that long it would usually f*** with your voice your throat. No matter how practiced you are. Because you have to use your throat to close to produce that kind of scream in the back of your throat. Which will irritate your vocal cords so then to be able to talk Google that quickly into singing again. That is unbelievably talented and impressive. Just saying

      @@meghanschuler4739 Speaking from experience this is pretty accurate. I'm fortunate to have the range and the will to do the scream but damn it messes with your throat. Honestly that whole segment is so bad on my voice that when I'm going through that section I'll skip the buildup sometimes or I'll cheat the buildup by screaming it in a lower octave. But thats only in the case that I've already been at it for hours usually I'm fine doing it normally. Hell even Chester felt how bad that scream was so much so in order to preserve his voice for the rest of the set if he needed to sing Given Up live he'd cut the scream in two breaths. I don't blame him either it's rough.

If I ever took my own life or relapsed and over dosed I wouldn’t ever want anyone to put the blame on others it was me. I would bet he felt the same way. You really need to do One More Light. The video is a tribute to Chester. Also Little things you give away. Towards the end of the song is mesmerizing. Waiting for the End is a really cool song too. Different. It's off their Thousand Suns album. As they progress though their albums they always change, but are even more mature and inventive.Btw, Little things you give away was written for the people of New Orleans after Katrina. They were their to help and were disgusted by how things were being handled. When they got home they wrote this for them.

    Ok. So yesss, this is super indicative of what depression can feel like. Chester’s father was a detective whom specialized in protecting children, in every aspect. His partner in crime, Literally, whom
    He trusted, had been molesting Chester for a long time, unbeknownst to his PI father. Chester never got through it or over it. I know how that feels , i had suffered some abuse as a kid, then young adult, & u sometimes dont recover & i can still go to that dark place. I believe good karma was God’s way of saving me from myself by giving me my son. He is the opposite of me. Positive, soft, sweet, golden. I had turned my anger into drugs & numbing myself out from a very dark depressing place to cope for a long time. My son made me realize I still had a heart, and life was good, & it was God’s way of reminding me of what Id felt before i got damaged. That said, i get Chester’s pain. And he tried a lot to save himself too before giving up. He was a hero to me having tried his whole life to recover. Depression or angst can be anger inside out.. and yes (!) he held that note! He was awesome 😊, & this touches my soul & moves me every single time, i feel this song, not just hear it. The angst is real. The note in itself is an example of how hard he could try or amp himself to get out of his own head.. its 18 secs long & real! Im Exactly the same ... the message is so clear & honest. Its hurt & pain, yet relatable, im my own worst enemy, id never hurt a soul, but me, def. i yell this whenever im there .. love it!! Numb =my dad. In the End = my ex husband. And this, this is me. And i absolutely love Chester 🖤, he was the best!! That’s Life 🤔😉🤘... sometimes... not always.. but it can be...

      Yelling is what I tell a lot of people to do that I talk to. It can serve as a means of getting some release. That's makes this interaction with you guys so beautiful. We get to share our stories with others. In doing so we find out that we are not alone and end up gaining support, new friends, new relationships, etc. So sorry to hear what you went through sis. But, I'm so glad that you are taking that negative energy and using it to fuel yourself into creating an awesome world for your son.

      Modern Renaissance Man agreed. Everyone has a story. And my positive now is trying to support anyone I can in anything they’re going through, especially if I can relate, & making my son’s childhood & life all mine was not, but is now too. Its ok man, it made me a force to reckon with (not just a force of nature), & I speak only through experience, never because I feel like Ive lived 100 yrs already. This song speaks to me, always will, i always questioned myself, & now, i dont do that so much anymore. Yelling is the best! Releases so much maybe working out cant...

    They say that depression is anger turned inward. I agree with that having fought it for years. When I was a kid I'd rather hurt myself than others I know where his anger was coming from. It's always there. The meds help. God rest his soul. What a loss.

    • @carmenmcalistet5452
      @carmenmcalistet5452 Před 4 lety +2

      Derrick that's true. The meds help me but it doesn't make me "normal". It's like carrying your worst enemy in your head with you. Constantly berating you. Can't get away from it. I hope you find peace if just for awhile. I know how you feel. Sweet dreams.

    • @frankparker1191
      @frankparker1191 Před 4 lety +3

      I have also had bouts with depression my entire life. The Meds were only a Band-Aid, numbed me out. Only made me ignorant to the underline issues that cause my depression to develop. What really helped me was learning to trust in God and being open to open up about my feelings. Ever since I accepted Jesus into my heart, and found a therapist that I feel comfortable confiding with. My quality of life and happiness has improved greatly. I am still my own worst critic, but I don't obsess over things that I dislike about myself anymore. I don't let those negative feelings buildup and fester anymore either, and I love myself more than I ever have before in the past.

It's sad to see along the way he must have drifted away from Jesus during the fame and fortune etc. Because as we know, if he was still close to Jesus I don't believe he would have had the depression (demons) tormenting him and he would still be alive.
