Norm could literally read a list of things in his apartment and it would crack me up. He just had that gift of delivery. RIP Norm. You’ll always be my favorite.

His ‘Bob Kendell’ story reminds me of him not wanting to tell Bill Cosby that his father died; he tells a small lie to make things go more smoothly, and it only serves to make everything more complicated.
Loved Norm. Especially love the way he went out. In an age where people post images of themselves doing practically everything that will make them look like a great person and a victim at the same time, this guy had cancer for a decade and seems to have told no one, except possibly his mother. We could all learn from him, but it’s doubtful that we will. Love Conan too but his fake laugh becomes hard to listen to the more he does it.
I just wish I could have told him how much I loved him/Norm while he was alive. But yes I get it. He was to smart for fakeness & he was very respectful of life and death & honesty. If heaven is real may he be up there
Conan said on his podcast honoring Norm that he was never faking a laugh with Norm. Norm was the one guy who'd always get Conan laughing completely and legitimately. He couldn't help it.
This segment on the Conan show is what began the gay jokes towards Andy Richter, the swedish-german, for years to come. Although he laughed and seemed to enjoy them on air, after Norm’s death he was on a podcast with Conan where he repeatedly brought up how offended he was by them and how Norm shouldn’t have made gay jokes because they’re outdated, crude, and hurtful. Way to speak ill of the dead, Andy. 26 years after the first gay joke against him, he is STILL offended by them. (maybe he actually is deeply closeted or something? it makes me wonder now) Norm clearly did it in jest, it was well-spirited and not homophobic or hateful imo. Many a chance Andy had to clear the air while Norm was still alive, and quite possibly could’ve gotten an apology from Norm. Besides...it’s a comedy show Andy, not a dick, so don’t take it so hard ;)
I don't think Andy is deeply closeted himself, but his father certainly was: he left his wife and either 3 or 4 (I don't rememeber) to live with some guy instead, Andy was in his teens at the time. So I can totally understand why Andy feels offended by these jokes, and I also can see why Norm kept making them
Andy is a funny guy, but Norm was interplanetary. Outta this world. Love Andy, but if he's "offended" by Norm's jokes? Andy is woke. Sad. As a comedian, he ought to know better. I hope he still has a sense of humor and this characterization of him proves incorrect.
