This may seem like a really dumb question, but how do I get better at Tekken if I don't have the game myself? Tekken is my favorite game and a very unfortunate string of events have made it so that it'll be 4-5 years until I can buy a device for myself in which to play in.... it's killing me inside that the people I play when I do get to try Tekke 8 are absolutely steam rolling me now and I can't do anything about it

Sadly it’s really hard getting good at the game without training character knowledge and matchup knowledge as u have to play a lot to get used to them

I always suggest to people who have the game to watch gameplay and know their frame data so they can create a tight flow chart to default to
Do the boring stuff for now is really my suggestion or hit up a friend who has parsec

Hey I'm sorry to hear about your situation! There's not much substitute for playing the game, but at my locals I did see people that didn't own the game themselves and just showed up with a controller or even borrowed one to play at the venue for the evening so maybe that's a cheaper option? Other than that, the best substitute I can think of is playing older Tekken and fighting games if you have them and otherwise watching a lot of content like you're doing now of the characters you like.
All that being said, Tekken is a very old game so no matter when you join, either now or in 4-5 years, there will always be legacy players that have been playing for far longer than you, so don't get discouraged by that! Just jump in once you can!

Edit the day after: I PLACED SIXTH! Sixth on a thirty two man tourny - I'm so happy
