My dad (retired Coast Guard) once told me it would cost the US less money to just buy all the drugs that come into this country than to try and keep them out. Idk if that was hyperbole but I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't.
Yeah but your father didn't take into account that if we buy the drugs less jobs are going to be generated. By not doing it, we have a strong border patrol and coast guard always learning and adapting.
@@alfredo12345neo more jobs for the drug dealers
It’s because the value of the coco leaves (to make cocaine) is 1000x lower in the country of origin than the street value in USA.

That torpedo one is really clever imagine if it have been use all around the world our cost guard will have a pain catching smugglers
Its not because there are 2 vastly simpler solutions not in this videos. 1. Bribe the right people. 2. Manufacture the drugs locally.
I am no expect but I highly suspect most of the high tech smuggling to the US in this video is now mostly about avoiding other cartels not avoiding border patrol.
@@peterisawesomeplease you're right... you are no expert... most plant based drugs cannot be manufactured locally... and bribery wont solve every import issue...
@@baalsbastards6341 "Most plant based drugs can not be manufactured locally" Well consider yourself lucky to have stayed away. But synthetic drugs with effects similar to cocaine and heroin are often what you get when you buy cocaine or heroin. Especially Heroin.
@@peterisawesomeplease again proving you know nothing of what you are talking about... and the name of the synthetic drug you are trying to describe is fentanyl... and carfentanil... added to heroin because junkies like to roll the dice to chase that high... some retards were adding it to coke as well because... oooh white powder... but that has for the most part ceased as coke heads were quiting and cooking crack destroys the fentanyl... it sounds to me like you've watched 1 too many episodes of breaking bad and think you know the world of illicit narcotics...
@@baalsbastards6341 fentanyl is only one of hundreds of synthetic opioids. There are also hundreds of synthetic stimulants. They are not perfect replacements and there is still demand for the plant based ones but they have pushed the drug market further from being bottle necked by intradiction. I am impressed by how the US Coast Guard snipes the boat's engines, and not its crew.
No movies are made about the Coast Guard. It doesn't get the recognition it deserves.
Not only smuggling patrols, but also search & rescue, hurricane relief, or helping boats that run out of fuel, the US Coast Guard does so many things that benefit real people.
They don't get thought about, or thanked enough.

As much as the drug war is devastating you have to admire the creativity of these cartels
The torpedo is really amazing idea

@@kaliningradtoczechrepublic8162 quite the opposite. Give lots of drugs to anyone and everyone who wants to do them. Soon we'll have eliminated from the genepool any susceptibility to drug addiction. There's too much people breathing my air and polluting my planet anyway. And if we kill the market, we also eliminate drug cartels.

Nice content... Very informative even the shorts too are precise.
Wow i had no idea about the narco torpedoes unfortunately there always gonna find the way to bring the drugs in
unfortuantly? hey, when i eventually become a multi billionare and need a means of evading arrest, there will be an entire industry waiting for me
The torpedoes are extremely brilliant!! Using them is even smarter than using fully autonomous torpedoes because they simply hitch a free ride most of the distance, saving fuel and the valuable space onboard for fuel. Absolutely brilliant! If I were them, I'd just attach the empty torpedoes to ships to get them back home to reuse them. Once ships hulls are all inspected via scuba divers, they'll have to use fully autonomous torpedoes that'll make the entire trip without risking anyone being caught, or even being paid to smuggle the goods.
These are invariably exactly what I think. Every time. It’s never been not what I thought.
Maybe if the US started treating addiction like the health crisis it is instead of a crime… The demand for drugs would go down.....just like it has everywhere else in the world this was implemented. Of course that might affect the pharmaceutical companies also so that’s a big no-no.
Exactly
If you are a user, distributor, or Smuggler, the millions of lives in Central South and Northern America are on your head

“Go fast boats” got me rolling
"Aight, time to put that newly-found kbowledge into action..."
It has to be torpedoes, since smugglers are using drones in air to achieve the same.
Where do they get the subs?! I kinda want one... Maybe they have a payment plan
Deal with Mexican Ports, and you will seek the Dealer of the Boat
since they abandon them you only need to wait for the sub to arrive in America and then it's yours, for free!

Finally, a good tutorial on how to smuggle, I will go out and try your tips, thanks.
Well it leaves out the most effective methods. Bribes/local production. At this point smuggling via the ocean is more about avoiding other cartels than border patrol. Border patrol is a long way from being the bottle neck on illegal drug prices.
Thanks, this video is going to help me in the future.
Agressivley taking notes
This channel is underrated
Waiting for old pablo escobar to make his own delivery drop drones 🤣
Oh they do this all the time. They lyft drugs from one side of the border to the other and then have people on the other side pick them up. But this whole thing is a bit misleading. These high tech solutions are not the most common way to smuggle. Bribes and hiding in normal cargo are the bigger source. The techno solutions are mostly about avoiding other cartels that control the cheaper methods.
Attaching to the hull of a ship is so smart.
Thanks for the tutorial
