Heel toe shifter works for me. Sounds like you’re going in to 1st too early before stopping at red lights in Melbs City. The heavy whine is the telltale. I roll up to red lights in 2nd & only go to 1st to get in to N. The heel toe shifter makes it so easy to go into N. Only takes a heel tap. This RE has a buttery gearbox. My god. The best I’ve ever had in 38 years riding all sorts, all brands.

If you got your 350 Classic from Essendon Mowers, they are a great bunch of folks!✅ The 350 Classic absolutely blows my mind how great it is. I’m as young as you & it still makes me smile👌 Think about a heel toe shifter even if it’s from India or from a meteor✅
2020 Classic 350: I had the same false neutral gear change problem too. The way to kill it is clutch in, push up and hold the lever up, clutch out, release foot. Works for me.

i noticed that the clutch is so light i find myself (almost) missing gears because i'm releasing (very) slightly early. you'll get used to it.
