    Louie honed in on the humanity and inherent sadness of that guy in the video. Initially, as a great storyteller, and to make people laugh, as a comedian would. Then the realization of the loneliness and desperation of that man's situation dawned on him, and it hit hard. That is one of the finest examples of the ancient Greek theatre symbols...the comedy and tragedy face masks...I've ever witnessed.

    As a beekeeper, I can assure Louis that the things that attacked him were NOT bees. Those were yellowjackets, and they are fucking assholes. They give bees a bad name because they have similar colors. But bees don't nest underground, at least not honey bees.

    • @nickbotic
      @nickbotic Před rokem +17

      Beekeeping is some hardcore shit, in my opinion. I’m not afraid of bees or anything, and I know that, generally speaking, they’re unobtrusive. But man. I don’t want one of something crawling all over me, much less one thousand somethings crawling all over me.
      I’m curious, do you do it for honey or some other purpose?
      More power to you, and bee careful!

    • @FreakDaMIghet
      @FreakDaMIghet Před rokem +21

      @@nickbotic Honey is the main goal, but you can also harvest the excess honeycomb and beeswax. The honey can also be used to make mead. The place I work at sells all those things, plus equipment for hobbiests to try to establish a hive of their own.
      Bees are a lot more gentle than people would think. I've only ever been stunk a couple times, and I've been doing this for several years. I usually wear gloves and the hood when I'm tending the hive, but some of my more experiences coworkers go in completely unprotected and come out unscathed. I honestly think that bees know they only get one sting before they die, so they know not to attack unless they absolutely have to. Yellowjackets have unlimited stings, so they attack with very little provocation. AND they eat bees, so I hate them. 😆

      🙄

    • @FreakDaMIghet
      @FreakDaMIghet Před rokem

      @@nickbotic I will say, August and September are the worst months for bee keeping and stings because it's Robbing Season. That means that the bees sense that the Fall is coming and they need to start getting ready for the Winter, so they start stockpiling their honey. That means that every drop is precious to them and they will NOT share. Not only is their own honey either. If they smell anyone's honey, either another hive's or the stuff we have in the store, they will come for it. Hence why it's called "robbing".

    THAT IS SO TRUE Louis is speaking probably from a place of experience here, that guy definitely didn’t even REALLY want that stuff he was listing off, he just like Louis said wants “somebody, SOMETHING” like he just wants to feel anything and he probably had to go through so much to even get to the level of self respect where he’s putting out ads like this. But then for them to NOT EVEN WORK? Damn that’s heartbreaking

    Louie has been back for some time and I would highly recommend "Sincerely" and "Sorry" as good to great performances but it is nice to see him outside of the act again since there has been a marked increase in pod interviews which gives insight into what he thinks about. This clip is especially good since a guy I consider brilliant (and yes flawed) is expounding on the worst internet swill. Interesting at the least.
