So I froze it and I cooked it today the 10 mins on high made the rice mushy even adding the 1/4c liquid prior to cooking
I didn't get the burn notice but it stuck to the bottom and although the flavor was there, it would have turned out better had the rice not been mush

When I freeze my IP bag meals, I set them in a bowl that's just a tad smaller than the diameter of the Instant Pot. It will freeze in that shape, making a perfect fit with absolutely no fidgeting or thawing, simply remove the plastic bag from around it and drop it in.
Doesn't save as much space as storing them flat but I've saved so, so much time when I don't have to break up the frozen block of food to fit before I cook it.

Is pressurizing an issue when cooking straight from frozen or do you turn on saute' for a bit to melt some of the liquid before you pressurize?

    • @CapitalSharkAttack
      @CapitalSharkAttack Před 4 lety +2

@@thatssassy9697 sometimes I'll add 2 or 3 minutes to the cook time if there's a big hunk of meat in it like a roast but I haven't noticed any real difference in doneness whether it's frozen or thawed/fresh.

Kristen, I have to tell you you and your sisters videos have literally changed our lives. My husband and I have health issues and we are older. Between the instant pot and air fryer recipes we can manage and enjoy the meals.
We did make the chicken jambalaya and it was very good and my blood sugar was fabulos. But the chicken was tough. We cooked on high pressure for ten minutes as directed. What do we need to adjust? We are at almost coastal altitude.
Thank you all again so genuinely. We also likevthe guest sites you share. You really have changed our ives.
Thank you and God bless you all.

Great recipes and I love that you can make several ahead of time and pop them in the freezer. My hubby still works FT but an accident left me permanently disabled 8 years ago so it’s tough making meals everyday. These are perfect for stocking up for the days I can’t function well. Thanks for making the recipes simple with “normal” every day ingredients. Have a fabulous week. 🤗

Instead of a bag stand, roll the top of your bag to the outside about an inch or two. This will keep the bag open and keep the zipper clean of food.

I made the Sausage Chicken and Rice and had these thoughts. For us, there was too much rice to meat ratio. I would either double the meat or add in a pound of shrimp. I would also chop the red pepper into bigger chunks. They really shrink in the IP and you could hardly notice them. I will also add a can of diced tomatoes with peppers for some more texture and taste. I know that's a lot of changes; but just thought I would offer it as a suggestion.
Thank you to the Six Sisters for posting these. I have many saved already!

Defiantly need to add a vid on how you take a meal prep from frozen to finished. I tried this receipt, marked the bag 10mins like was recommended. The rice was not cooked and there were still some frozen parts in the meal. I tried cooking it for 3 more mins and got the burn notice. This didn't work at all.

Since I had shoulder surgery, I prepped several freezer meals for "later times". I made 2 "batches" of the sausage and rice, 1 was eaten that day (they liked it) the other went in the freezer. Tonight I put it in the IP, followed directions, but thought that didn't look like enough fluid so I added extra. BURN notice. Scraped up the bottom, added additional water...BURN again. Now making them fish & chips. Shame to have to toss all that food now!

Dollar store has pitchers and I use those for my dump and go recipes. Add your empty bag in, dump in your ingredients, remove bag and flatten then remove excess air and seal. Of course put info on bag prior to putting in ingredients :) You can leave it in the pitcher shape as well so it fits from frozen into your IP.

As someone who is working hard to minimize the amount of plastic I am adding to landfills, the number of plastic bags I am envisioning results from this kind of food prep horrifies me!

I thoroughly wash and dry my bags to reuse them. Just write new instructions on the other side of the bag.

Hi, I love your recipes but I miss not being able to print out the recipe because sometimes i can't hear what's said even if I re-wind. Any suggestions?

The recipes are in the video notes at the top. Just hit the little arrow on your phone and open it up while you cook. That's what I do when they include them. 😁

works great. i love that it has stainless steal pot inside czcams.com/users/postUgkxG-7WiT7ocumjytOpHDFt632PL0pxXRAg and not the one with coating. we used to have a coated pot before, and the coating slowly peels, and i am sure went into the food that we cooked. Absolutely love stainless steel, and will not use a coated product again. This pot has many settings and many buttons, and i need to sit down with a manual to figure out which setting to use. I used the basic functions, and even though i am not technologically skilled, i turned it on and assembled it without any help.Very satisfied with this product overall.
