    KC's continuity in the front office, coaching staff, and player personnel has been their most underrated advantage. New players - be it draft picks or free agents - get acclimated faster and develop faster because standards and expectations are a daily part of the culture. A lot of great teams have had it over the years, but having Pro Bowl or All-Pro performers at maybe half of the position groups - most of them developed in-house - is what sustains KC. It helps them win close games in pressure situations, and it prevents extended periods of lackluster play.

      It's not just that. I think it's also that Clark Hunt really wants the team to succeed, and isn't afraid to throw money at every aspect of winning that's not bound by the salary cap. I think the number of coaches, assistants, area scouts and whatnot, really shot up after Clark took over. I think they also started handing out more recognition, rewards, and promotions to their best scouts.
      I think they have a thriving meritocracy at all or most levels of the organization, and it's extremely well-run.

      I just looked at the roster, and KC has a Pro Bowler or All-Pro at every level (OL, DL, LB, CB/S, QB) except Running Back and Wide Receiver. But if you want to count Andy Reid TE's as a part of the receiver group - which they are - then Kelce would qualify there. Just a lot of dudes on the field that know what they're doing.

    Just look at the difference between the 49ers and the Chiefs in overtime.... Many of the players didn't know the rules, they took the ball first they were not prepared for it the way the Chiefs were. The Chiefs bench was shocked they wanted the ball first all the players said they had gone over the rules many times as early as training camp! The Chiefs were coached and prepared so much better than the 49ers!!!

I end em by saying if the Chiefs beat them wk 9; Mahomes is 5-0 vs SF and at some point u have to admit the Chiefs are the better team.

    This will be the deepest and most talented team KC has had since 2020.
    If not for incompetent WR's this year KC would have walked away with the season. People don't realize that KC is 4 guys deep (starting quality) at both CB and safety. They don't realize that the young LB taking Gay's place is a better overall player than Gay was. They don't realize the depth KC added at O line this offseason.
    Sneed was the best bump n run corner in the league but KC will be just fine there. KC's D should actually be better this year if they don't suffer a number of serious season ending injuries. The offense will obviously be better with Hollywood and Worthy instead of Watson and Toney. Last year was the year to knock KC off. It sure won't be the next two years.
    4 straight SB victories. They'll be the first and the last to do it...

    • @harrymills2770
      @harrymills2770 Před 28 dny

      Yup. And watching Stinky put on a clinic in every meeting was also demoralizing. I could appreciate the excellence of that offensive line in Elway's last few seasons. Elway got them to the Super Bowl on multiple occasions, but there towards the end, he was more of a game manager, who was mainly there to throw them out of trouble on 3rd and 8, which didn't happen a whole lot, but when it did, Elway was clutch.
      That said, I think Elway was still one of the toughest, strongest, and most elusive QBs in the league his whole career. After that group (including Schlereth) retired, Shanahan seemed to forget the secret to his success, chasing after skill players instead of rebuilding that line, first.

    He kept a straight face when he said Kittle is the best TE in the league. That was very impressive because I'm imagining most people found that hilarious. Kittle gave Kelce a run for his money for about 2 seasons and hasn't been close the last few seasons. Look at their post season stats and tell me Kittle is even in the same league as kelce.

    • @BeingButterfly
      @BeingButterfly Před 16 dny +1

    • @mathewjones8886
      @mathewjones8886 Před 16 dny

      @@BeingButterfly He's a better blocker and that's it but he's nowhere near the level of Kelce at either route running or pass catching so being a COMPLETE tight end hasn't really done him much good. I'm sure he'd rather block a little less but catch a few more passes in the SB and maybe finally earn a ring. Anyone with half an ounce of sense would happily sacrifice some of Kittle's blocking ability and get more from him in the passing game because tight ends who can block are nowhere near as useful as they used to be.

    In the future we will be looking back upon the NFL and wondering why Burrow, Jackson, Allen and many other qb's didn't win more championships and the answer will be Mahomes and Reid. Just like why Big Ben, Peyton Manning, Rivers and others didn't win more championships: Brady and Belichick. They went up against the best and couldn't do it. There is no shame in this, just sorrow.

      LOL cute story. In reality only reason CHiefs won last year was because the Ravens gifted them the game with the worst gameplan in history. The front office acquired Derrick Henry so that never happens again. The Ravens are going to stop the Chiefs 3-peat and start one of their own as Derrick Henry becomes the GOAT. There isn't a single defense in the NFL that is built to stop the combo of speed and power of Henry while also containing Lamar on the perimeter and accounting for Zay Flowers in space. The full head of steam that Henry will get now in the zone read with 300 pound Ricard as a lead blocker, plus no hip drop tackle, the Chiefs and the rest of the NFL have no chance.

    Sleeping on the seahawks... the reasoning makes sense though... in my opinion pete carroll had become too loose with the team, it wasn't playing with discipline and structure... and it showed per usual in penalties and how awful our defense was at assignments and tackling, dk acting out, etc.
    Macdonald seems like he loves harnessing the uniqueness of players, but team first all the way, and way more structured and intuitive on modern teaching methodology. Obviously anything could happen but I feel like this team has the talent to be a real threat... 9 win team the last 2 seasons despite awful coaching. I believe one of the reasons pete was let go was because he wasn't willing to let go of the people below him that were clearly not getting the job done at all.
    As mark highlighted our tackles got injured, OL staying healthy is a MUST, but if it does, seahawks could be very good.
