For me it started with noticing that the people saying the especially cruel and stupid things usually included the words “cus god”. More to it, that was just the spark. Not to imply that this is a typical arch my any means, just saying. Life can sure go in directions we didn’t expect

    I remember this one vividly. I listened to some of Bo's songs here and there, but this one made me fall in love with his specials on a completely new level. I was raised as a Catholic, though I lost my faith somewhere along the way, and still when Bo hit me with the first "You're not going to heaven", there was some resistance within me. Some spite I didn't even expect myself. I was somewhat alert on the inside. As the song progressed, that initial feeling quickly turned into melancholy and sadness and the "you're not going to heaven" that started as provocative to me really got a different meaning and undertone to it. Such a strong and meaningful song and definitely my long-time favourite, although there are so many that I can't listen to without being absolutely moved.

      Remember, Satan was a young man thrown out of his home by an overbearing conservative father for disagreeing with him and trying to make a change, then was punished by being forced to torture people, his punishment was torturing other people, thats how not bad of a guy he was. And God is supposedly all powerful and all kind and yet for no apparent reason burns people in lakes of fire for all eternity while letting his favorites into his heroin den in the sky.
      I know which one of those people sound nicer to me and it sure as hell isn't the one burning people for all eternity because they didn't like him. Satan accepts all people of all religions, all nationalities, ethnicities, races, genders, sexualities, species, regardless of if they like him.

    • @Poketrainer317
      @Poketrainer317 Před 2 lety +3

      @@atashgallagher5139 if we're lookin biblically though then I can see how you would say that considering the one story, but like in the story of Adam and eve Satan tried to trick the two of them into eating forbidden fruit and it caused God to turn his back on them, which seems like a pretty evil thing to do. But then to literally play devils advocate, there was nothing wrong with that fruit I'm pretty sure. Maybe Satan just wanted to show them that some rules aren't all to keep them safe, and that God just wanted power over them. Maybe the Bible is actually what happened, just told from the perspective of someone that just wants control. Damn this train of thought is going everywhere, religion is such a mess of an idea when you apply worldly logic

    I found it really interesting when you talked about the people that choose what parts of the bible to follow their life around and that they choose whatever is convenient for them, be it hate gays or whatever else. It's a book that has been written centuries ago so using it as a moral guide in today is dumb asl. The bible says that ''itd be easier for a camel to pass through a keyhole than a rich man to get into heaven'' but then you look at those pastors who are literally billionares so as you said, the math aint mathin.
    There's a ton of old portuguese books that depict these hypocritical priests and pastors and i found it interesting how the church has always been like this.
    Also if there is an omnipotent GOD why would it care about us humans, we are so insanely small compared to the universe that it's insanely egocentrical to think that God is similar to us or even cares about us, if there is a God i would think of it more as the force of the universe, all the energy there is is what one would call God.
    There's so much to say about religion but I these were the thoughts i related the most to in this video.
    Great content, keep it up man!

    Heres a tidbit of info. Explaining the reasons for “no pork” in religion.
    Pigs were used as garbage disposals that ate all the street garbage and shit during that time period. Therefore the pigs were unclean.

    The pork thing i think was written in a lot of religious stuff because people weren’t cooking it properly and were getting really sick and they might have confused it as punishment from whatever god they were worshiping

    1/3 of the angels went to war against god when Lucifer fell from heaven. What even is heaven and why was it so bad 1/3 of the population thought going to war with God was a good idea.
    We have no idea what's going on.
