    I cant have suppressors here in NY, so I run a 20 inch AR. I know that sounds absurd with all the modern "rules" for cqb... but I cleared buildings in the middle east with a 20 inch barrel, and its what I know. 20 inches reduces muzzle flash and recoil to a comical degree when compared to a shorter barrel... and that 20 inches also means that green tip can penetrate level 3 body armor.
    I figure Im better off using the platform I know, especially if it makes everything but level 4 armor a nonissue.

    • @p51mustang24
      @p51mustang24 Před 24 dny

      Level 3+ green tip rated plates are becoming pretty common as an alternative to lvl 3 standard plates.
      But longer barrels definitely work just fine. A2 buffers and rifle gas run like butter.
      Shorter barrels are just trendy the last several years, not entirely without good reason, but the longer barrels are under appreciated.

      @@p51mustang24 and m855a1 from a 20 inch barrel has defeated every 3+ steel plate its been tested against.

      @@marcush4741 m855a1 is a totally different story from traditional m855. A1 is better against armor and, probably more importantly, better against soft tissue too. It’s just exceedingly uncommon outside of military circles right now. Excellent round though.
      Spicy copper penetrators have always been able to penetrate plates too coming out of a 20”. Again, it’s just really rare to encounter.

    • @Redeemed_Team
      @Redeemed_Team  Před rokem +1

      So the design purpose of this build was that the back up iron sites are only to be used If my primary optic fails.. since my primary optic is on a quick detach, It comes off super quick and easy then I’m able to use those back up iron sights because those back up iron sights reach over the riser. To answer your question more simply..no.. the iron sights are not co-witness through the optic when on the riser, but it wasn’t designed to be on this specific build. The back up iron sites are there and ready to be used if the primary optic completely fails. Hope this answers your question.

    • @Redeemed_Team
      @Redeemed_Team  Před 7 měsíci

      Only reason why I got the Warcomp was to suppress my weapon. The Warcomp is the adapter for the suppressor so why wouldn’t it have the option to suppress. They are saying that because of the ported holes on the Warcomp but that’s their incase you just want to run muzzle device only and still have the ported comp work in your favor. The Warcomp is flash hider and compensator combo so it works well.. but the option is still their if you want to throw a suppressor on it which I do because it’s much more quiet and the extra weight of the can really keeps the recoil flat. Surefire wouldn’t make a muzzle device to not be recommended to suppress but then still make it so that it can be suppressed. Lol hope this helps. Some people just over think things and become nay sayers.

      11.5 for home defense. More compact package. Although the ballistics of the 12.5 is slightly better, you won’t notice any difference close to mid range. The shorter barrel will be much more maneuverable and slightly lighter. If you plan on only having 1 rifle then get the 12.5 because it will be a well balanced option.. still very manageable close range in the home and better ballistics for longer range. I already had my 16 inch rifle for long range so I went with the 11.5 for my HD and truck gun. Hope this helps. God bless.
