    a suction cup end dart for my son's nerf rifle is a great tool for removing the case back; once you loosen it a little with the tool, stick suction cup end in the middle of the case back and counter clockwise turn off. i have large hands, so it's easier when installing case back like this; since the suction will break if too much twist force is applied, no chance of cross threading the threads either.

    I can't express how much this is appreciated. Thanks so much for taking the time to document it so well...Watching this has definitely put a custom project on my list of goals for the near future.

      You're very welcome. When I was trying to do this, there was really only one set of youtube videos, but TONS of info on forums, while the forums are great....pictures are worth a million words, and video...well that's gotta be even better right?! Some of the video quality isn't great, because I was a bit too zoomed in, but this was my first time recording a mod, so future video in this category will be much better.

    Hi, thanks for giving a truly insightful start. I tripped over my dog, a Pit, fell headlong, and banged one up too bad to continue. Been having a terrible time getting the bezel off, I've done a little work on watches, fair amount on clocks, but this is one for trying to repair, nothing to lose. I will be seeing the next, most scoshe. Thanks again, great job.

    Great know about range of various tools. With some watches the dial pegs or feet are held in place by two screws on the side of the movement. You may want to loosen them. Don't remove but loosen as they press against the dial pegs or feet. I found out the hard way with my seiko bellmatic.

    Just changed the crystal (easy) and hands (not as easy) on my skx009. I forgot to take note what position the hands were in before removal so when I installed the new ones it didn't line up. Second time around, and the date starts to change at 5 o'clock. But by then I was too tired so left it. Not to mention the second and is a pain.

    • @CGAWCChannel
      @CGAWCChannel  Před 8 lety

      The hands REALLY are a giant pain in the but and take some serious patience! Just a few tips and tricks can help make it a little less of a pain. As for that seconds hand...i'm not sure there is a way to make that one easier...lol.

  • @xjsteve
    @xjsteve Před 8 lety +1

    Great tutorial CG, this has inspired me to mod my Invicta as I have the same model. One question so far, did you start with two watches as I observed the first watch you started working on had a yellow rotor and later on, the movement you removed the hands from had a steel decorated rotor? I guess having a spare watch on standby makes sense if this was your plan.
    I love how your watch turned out after your mods were completed. Great channel too by the way.
    And thanks in advance for your advice. 👍🏼😀

    • @CGAWCChannel
      @CGAWCChannel  Před 8 lety

      Hey Steve! I did indeed have two watches, I practiced tear down and case work on the scalloped bezel (ref. 8926) while I waited on the coin edged 8926OB (ref. 8926OB) to show up. Originally, my plan was just to take the coin edge bezel off and use the case I had already done all the work to, but the bezels aren't interchangeable, sooooo I got to practice my case work a second time...lol...and finished my mod on the coin edged reference. The awesome thing is that now I have a second movement, which I will fit to my SNZH when I complete it's mod.

    I have an Invicta Pro Diver model 10497. I just discovered that I had a cracked glass in my case back sight window. I have tried to locate a new back on the internet and even went to Invicta and looked at their website but that is not included in the parts description so what do I do about replacing it? Do I get the glass replaced or just a new back and where can I get one if that is the case?

    Hello there CG. Not seen you on here for a long time hope all is well. I've just been looking at a CZcams video where they track storms hurricanes and stuff. If you live anywhere near the Florida area you'd do well to check out what the weather forecast for your area for the next few days especially the coming weekend is saying. The fellow I was watching reckons that there's a very bad hurricane, hurricane Irma heading for Florida and that people living there should think about getting away from the place for a while. Fingers crossed the bloke in the video is exaggerating but I thought I'd try and pass the message on anyway. Right I'll say goodbye for now. Take care bye for now CG. X

    Do you know what is the differences between the old Invicta 8926 (Miyota 8215 movement) compared to the Invicta 8926 (NH35 Movement)? Beside the movement differences are the watch case dimension different too? Right now i have the Invicta with Miyota 8215 movement, do you think the watch case is compatible with the NH36 movement? Also before i take the watch apart, the Invicta with Miyota 8215 also have the click spring wire as well as the hexagon retention spring right?

      I thought the nh35/36 was more equal to the 4r series due to the hacking and hand winding.. could be wrong though.

    • @tomasinacovell4293
      @tomasinacovell4293 Před 8 lety

      That's true, but WTfach, actually I was wrong in a way, because it's more like an NH36 but without a DAY track/wheel, and that makes it the same as an 6R15 but without the glucydur balance wheel and upgraded mainspring basically. Invicata started with the Miyota cal.8200's, but a couple of years ago upgraded to hacking Seiko SII movements, and I think at first with the NH20 or NH15 or something, it had hacking but no handwinding if I recall. God what a vicious name game they play, like the the NE15 is the equivalent to the 6R15 etc.
